At least three time the Redihaler has expelled the medicine when I open the cap- it does not seem to be breath activated! I am concerned when I fly- how does change in pressure impact the way it works? I will be going from 7000 feet to 500 feet- I'm not sure I trust this med being dispensed this way.

This redihaler stops dispensing the correct dose anywhere from 90 and below. I thought it was climate change at first and I even threw one away because I thought it was defective. This is dangerous to any person dependent on their redihaler and this is with ALL their redihalers. See the other reviews of people having the same issue. What a waste of money at $180.00. Switching at my next appointment. SHAME ON YOU!!

Teva changed the way in which the drug is being delivered, but not the drug itself. The prior design worked perfectly. They did this to get 10 years of additional patent protection. Congress needs to wake up and protect the livelihood of it's citizens, and not corporate special interests. What a shame!

For the last 3 months my dispenser has gone down to 0 doses and the canister has been 1/3 to 1/2 full with remaining medication. Also, when I open the cap the dose is delivered so I cannot get the medication. I do not have prescription coverage on my insurance and at 260.00 or so per month this is most aggravating. When I have called Teva for help I got nowhere. VERY VERY unhappy with this new dispenser.

The FDA needs to seriously recall the QVAR redihaler, it is anything but "Redi. I too have experienced the same malfunctions as other patients, the inhaler stops working as well as disbursing the med before you can breathe it in. I've also had the inhaler spray me in the face when removing from my mouth, none of these malfunctions should be occurring. This is seriously jeopardizing patients' health. The only reason the design changed was to allow the pharmaceutical to extend its patent for another 10 years which prevents generics from being offered. I'm sorry, but a patient health has priority over your damn profits, WAKE UP and fix this problem!!!Read More Read Less

The Redihaler stops working when only half the doses have been dispensed. This has happened several times. I called the manufacturer and was sent a replacement, but it, too, stopped working with 75 doses remaining. I preferred the old style used with a spacer.

Delivery method failure. Medicine works if you UNSCREW THE TOP and take it like a regular inhaler. Couldn’t afford to waste the ones I had that quit working. Now I can breathe again.

50% of the time the medication is disbursed as I open the white cover. I have to close the cover and reopen to get the medication. The medication is not always the same amount disbursed. The old qvar worked great, but this is taking advantage of those who can’t use any other asthma medication. $270 per unit is outrageous. And a 50% fail rate (med disbursed upon opening lid) is robbery.

This is a defective design. I am able to stay controlled by twisting the top off and using it as a normal inhaler. I have about 5 of these that still have many doses left. I have too much invested in these to not try and work around this terrible design that fails to dispense doses!!!

The new design RediHaler is defective. It stops delivering the medication with more than half the medication left in the canister. My asthma symptoms were out of control before I realized the problem was with not getting any medication from the inhaler. The older Qvar aerosol inhaler was much more reliable and effective.

Qvar was working great I til they switched to the redihaler which has had nothing but problems. Squirts while closing the cover after inhalation. Not getting correct dose. Can’t tell if I got a complete dose. Then asthma gets worse so I know it’s not working. I found a hack. Peel off the label and twist top part counterclockwise and it comes off. Remove cap. Use like a traditional inhaler.

My asthma was well-controlled for years on this drug, until they switched to the Redi inhaler. I've had to use the rescue inhaler more times this year than I had the previous 10. Will have to try a different medication from a different manufacturer. This inhaler is dangerous. I'm an adult, can't imagine how a parent would tell whether a child is getting his medication.

It worked very well for me before they went to the redi-haler. Now, it is difficult to use and I can't get a proper dose. I end up having to use my rescue inhaler several times a day. Kind of defeats the purpose of the inhaled steroid. I'm going to talk with my doc about finding a different medication.

I do not understand why they changed this medicine. My 7 year old is having difficulties with this medicine. I am going to have to change to another medicine for controlling her asthma.

Who can we contact about this new design? I asked my pharmacy with no suggestions. The new design fails to gove a proper dose by about 30 inhalation uses. It either puffs out a huge amount or it comes out very slowly, longer than I can inhale. I Will have to chance drugs because this one is scary to use. You chat depend on the correct dose.
