Good news - works on migraines especially in conjunction with Botox. Reduced both severity and frequency . Bad news - weight gain (7 lbs) , constipation is an understatement , acid reflux due to the digestive tract coming to a screeching halt, chest pain- ink is only related to gastro difficulties at this time (stress test in two weeks). Miralax and protonix now needed on top of the 64 oz of water...

The autopen is very difficult to use. It takes many, many tries to get the pen to actually dispense the medication. It "clicks" each time you press the button but it doesn't seem to work properly on each "click". It bitterly took me 5 minutes to do one injection. My Husband is on Humira and their auto-pen works flawlessly every time. Why can't Aimovig be this easy to inject?

Migraines increased, exhausted, hot flashes and severe constipation with no relief from over the counter medication. I drink 120 to 160 oz of water a day since starting this medication. Constant mental fog. Muscle spasms at night. Will not be getting Aimovig next month. Would rather continue with Maxalt and deal with my migraines.

I have had migraines for 39 years. I was so excited to hear about this new medication. Unfortunately it made the intensity of my migraines worse. My intractable migraines have also been more frequent since taking it. I am two weeks into my second dose. This medication robbed me of my Christmas. The pain I experienced while on this medication, my abortive medication will not even work touch. I am extremely upset that no where does the manufacturer tell you that a side effect could be an increase in migraine pain an increase in severity. Everyone is different and I hope it actually works for others but please.... Make sure to have plenty of abortive medication on handRead More Read Less

I have had one 70 mg shot. I previously had 15 headaches per month. The first week after the injection I had 2 headaches. No headaches at all since and that was almost a month ago. No side effects either! I guess I should get a 2nd shot soon.

I have suffered with debilitating migraines for 30 years. Having from 15 to 20 migraines a month. So on November 31 I did my first injection of Aimovig 70 mg. I am now 21 days an no head pain at all. As far as I can tell I have had no side effects.

I have taken one shot so far. My only side effect is intermittent constipation. This shot in conjunction with chiropractor visits has taken my life of migraines to 0 for the past few weeks. Thankful.

9 year chronic migraine sufferer and I'm currently on the 140mg/ml dosage (2 pens) per 30 days and I didn't notice a significant change until about the 4th dose. I went from daily migraines (roughly 25-28 per month) to about 5-8 per month! No other preventive medicine has worked this effectively.

Typically I get a 3 day migraine every 3 weeks. I had a 1 day migraine a few weeks after starting Aimovig and havenâ??t had one since. Ive been 4 months migraine free. I do notice increased constipation but will take that any day over a migraine.

easy to administer. No side effects. So far, this has been a wonderful preventative. Aimovig, where have you been all my life?

This has significantly reduced my migraines. It took the 4th month to notice the reduction. I had on average 14 - 18 a month. It is now less than 8 per month. Constipation is an issue but activa and extra magnesium helps. No cramps or spasms.

At the end of the first month I got the worst migraine Iâ??ve had in years. The constipation is so bad I canâ??t go without taking more meds for that. My whole body is dried out. Iâ??ve basically traded one set of problems for another.

Aimovig has significantly changed my life for the better. Itâ??s almost unbelievable. After 35 years of migraines 10-17 per month (more as I got older and on imitrex rebounds) and the only effective abortive treatment being imitrex... after dozens of unsuccessful preventive treatments and side effects, I finally have some relief. Immediately I saw a significant reduction in migraines, cut by one half to two thirds! I seem to still be very susceptible to hormone induced migraines, but have otherwise been very resilient to my other triggers (weather, stress, alcohol, sleep changes). Currently Iâ??m 2.5 weeks migraine free (4th month on Aimovig). Perhaps it wonâ??t work for everyone, but itâ??s bee amazing for me. Iâ??d encourage others to give it a few months to kick-in or keep trying the new drugs in this class. I thought Iâ??d never find something to help me but this really has!Read More Read Less

This drug is awful! The first few weeks experienced severe fatigue, dizziness, nausea, insomnia, chest pain, shortness of breath, muscle/joint pain and worsened migraines my normal abortive meds would not touch. I am still dealing with dizziness, chest/joint pains. I did a half life calculator online and since the half life is 28 days this is in your system for 6 months. I cant wait for this to be out of my system! ALso read the FDA approval report available online as well and there were many side effects in the trials. I guess they didnt feel they were related to this drug. I have found many forums where people are writing in about their side effects. People are also losing their hair on top of everything else! I only took this because I was told constipation and injection site pain was a side effect. What a joke! I have felt like death the past 6 weeks!Read More Read Less

Four days after my injection I had severe muscle cramps in the back of both thighs. It lasted about fifteen minutes then stopped and never came back. Then I got a dry cough that lasted for over a month. I had no other symptoms of illness to bring on this cough. My whole torso would spasm before the cough. This cough only came on when I exhaled, mainly when trying to talk or laugh. I did not cough at night. I am thinking this was brought on by the medication. I was very tired also, just did not feel well. I have suffered with migraine for 30 yrs. At least Frova brings relief. I can tolerate the constipation and hard stools the Aimovig produces but not a continuing cough. Seems both may be caused by a change in muscle contraction in the body. Interesting.I am afraid to do my second injection before finding out for sure the cough was not caused by this drug.Any feedback would be appreciated tremendously because the Aimovig did reduce my migraine episodes. I totally agree with other reviewers that the drug company is withholding and or unaware of many side effects. Scary!Read More Read Less

2 months on shot and will not take this shot again. Each month I got one of the worst migraines of my life right after injecting the shot for a week straight. Nothing would release pain and had to go to the urgent care to get a demorol shot to reduce pain. I havent sleep more than three to for fours a night in two months, in addition Im having severe hot flashes and Constipation. I do not recommend this medication migraines have been more intense but daily headaches seem to have resolved. However I can deal with a daily headache but not a more severe migraine. This did not work for me.Read More Read Less

Although this medication did lower my instances of migraine with aura, the side effects are horrible. I have spent the last month feeling like I'm having anxiety attacks (which I have rarely ever had before). I also have insomnia from it. Of most concern, my heart feels like it is pounding out of my chest, with intermittent chest and arm pain, and have period where my heart feels like it is flipping and I get dizzy. I went to the ER, but I was assured I was not and had not experienced a heart attack. I can't wait for this to finally wear off.Read More Read Less

My headaches intensified within 12 hours of taking the injection, and normal meds i take to help me wont even touch it. The right side of my head and behind eye hurts and face is numb and tingling. Also have nausea and now insomnia along with pain in neck down into shoulders. This is day 6 of feeling like this since the shot. On day 4 my nuerologist have me 3 injections to help knock it out and that only lasted 3 hours and it was back full force. I would not reccomend this drug to anyone.

Went from 12 hpm to 2 in the first month of treatment. Month 2 is going great, too. I have not yet stopped other preventatives (Topirimate), but I hope to start reducing those soon. I hardly notice the shot, it's so small. My only side effect is minor constipation, which is nothing compared to triptan shots.

This drug is awful. I have had more intense migraines every day since the injection. Along with dizziness, nausea, Insomia, and hot flashes. My normal meds I use for the pain arenâ??t working. I have seen a lot of others experiencing the same effects. I feel like death and this stuff has a 28 day half life. I just want it out of my system!!! I am praying I donâ??t have these migraines the whole time this is in my system. Aimovig website mentions none of these horrendous side effects.
