Plenvu kit had 2 packets. The first was Mango (16 oz) which tasted like salt water mango but better than the gross tasting stuff from others. Drank another 16 oz at 5 and had cleanout start around 6:30 pm. Then 2nd packet(s) was Tropical fruit flavor salt water. Still very tolerable. I was very full after both. The 2nd packet I took at 3 am and basically had complete clean out by 4:30 am but still...

you get diarrhoea to the point where you are incontinently passing dirty water. In this condition I was supposed to travel 20 miles for a colonoscopy. I had to cancel after 3 days preparation. A total waste of money everyone's time and 3 days of my life. What do these people use for brains?

Used product for colonoscopy prep. Found it to be extremely effective, and lets be honest, why else would you take this? Imperative that the doctor be able to see everything during the procedure, why risk that due to it tasting bad, or making you stay in bathroom for long period of time. That is why you take it.. Now for actually taking it, believe it or not, not all that bad. When you drink it, taste it. I found that the "holding your nose" and trying not to taste it made it more difficult. They add a volume of sweetness to it that make it taste like a over sweet coolaid product. Drank it in large swallows over minute or two, not a problem. Able to consume each dose, no problem. Effective? yes.. and just remind yourself while you're in the bathroom, the idea here is to allow the doctor to see everything they need to see. So actually the more you move, the better. Had my procedure yesterday, read the notes, and one of the comments doctor had, "prep was excellent".. he saw everything he needed to see, so that said, 100% happy with product... Last thing, wrote this as I also just wanted info before taking and many bad comments, mostly over taste and going to bathroom.. folks, its not that bad, and at end of day, you want doctor to be able to do his job without anything hindering them from seeing everything. Everything went well yesterday and I encourage all to use this product and know that it is helping, NOT hurting you!!! Read More Read Less

Horrible tasting. The second dose made me feel really sick immediately. Nausea, increased heart rate, and felt very shaky. Vomited after 3 hours of feeling horrible. Will never use this prep again. Awful stuff.

I have had 5 colonoscopies and have used 5 different preps. All preps taste awful. That is the nature of the medication. This prep is ranked #2 for me. It was very effective, caused little to no bloating, cramping or gas, slight nausea. ALL PREPS HAVE THESE SIDE EFFECTS!!! Plenvu was fairly easy to use. I would use it again.

Terrible experience. The first dose caused me to use the bathroom right away and I was ok. Taking powder packs a and b caused me to vomit some of the prep and made me nauseous. I also had the prep running down my legs before I could reach the toilet. My blood pressure skyrocketed, and I had an anxiety attack. I have never had such a horrible experi nice.

Was given this product as "Sample" from Dr's office when I made my colonoscopy appointment. After much research, I debated on using this product, but at the last possible moment (5am) I decided to use it. First dose was taken using refrigerated water and positioning the straw as far back on my tongue as possible without triggering the gag reflex. Got very little taste and it worked within less than an hour. Of course, that was because I had only juice and water the prior day. By 9am I was ready to start dose 2 but only used cool water because I didn't care, I just wanted to get it over with. In less than an hour, I was "CLEAN" so I only used about 2/3rds. Pictures showed no speck of any thing except 1 small polyp. Unfortunately, everything I ate for the rest of the day, had that "hint" of Plenvue flavor. I hope I never have to go thru this procedure again.Read More Read Less

This is the most vile thing I have ever put in my mouth, there is no way I could finish this in 30 min without vomiting.

Mango and Fruit punch are the 2 flavors. In all reality, it's mostly all salt. So bitter it's sweet. Who drinks mango flavored drinks? It worked well, no adverse effects, no vomiting, no nausea. Just an uncomfortable feeling. Take a drink of cold water or Gatorade after every drink and you'll get through it.

Took first dose 7pm for colonoscopy next day at 2:30PM. Hard to swallow close to gell consistency. Drank lots of water. Terrible bloating and headache for 4 hours with zero release till around 11pm.. Had bm's till 12AM. Woke with more bm's around 6AM. Still terribly bloated. Was told to take second dose at 9:30AM. Could only manage half the solution. My system responded within 2 hours but bloating and discomfort remained. Arrived at clinic 1:30PM more emptying of bladder right up to time of procedure. I informed nurses of my experience and they told me to relax it would be all right. When I recovered I was told that prep was inadequate and procedure would have to be repeated at another time. The next 30 min. I experienced severe gas and emptying of bowels while still on the recovery gurney. Horrible experience. It took me 2 days to recover. Pictures showed colon full of honey colored gell substance which prevented the Dr from viewing subject. Painful waste of time.Read More Read Less

I'm certain no prep tastes good but despite being someone with a sensitive stomach, I drank this with no issues (did split dose). I kept it cold, used a straw, sometimes held my breath while drinking, and drank water after each sip to minimize aftertaste. I also scaled backed on quantity of food a couple days in advance and avoided things like corn, red meat and fruits/veg with skin. I had no stomach upset and after 2 hours was empty. Same experience with dose 2. This is the lowest volume prep out there which is why I chose it. It also didn't hurt that studies show it's the most effective prep. This was my first colonoscopy and I will absolutely use this for my next one (unless something even better comes along). In addition, with a coupon from my GI doc combined with my insurance, I paid $0 for it. I'm shocked by the poor reviews for this prep and am glad I didn't let them away my decision. My husband has had well over 20 colonoscopies due to IBD and when he saw the container with the prep in it he said "That's it?!" Drinking a gallon of prep would not have worked for me.Read More Read Less

First, the taste was bitter, not fruity as described. Second although it did clean me out completely, it was through constant trips to the toilet approx. every 5 minutes at times. I did not get more than 20 minutes sleep. Most concerning was that after the first dose I began having chills. Then I started to feel weak as though I were going to pass out. Decided to check my blood pressure which was shockingly 181/105. I've never had blood pressure that high. Called the company. They denied that it could have been from the prep. When I told the Dr at the procedure he also denied it and tried to say I was just nervous. Um, NO I wasn't. I've been through it several times before. I told him I will never use it again and I am reporting my adverse reactions to the FDA. I hope others will also report their bad experiences so others won't suffer though dangerous reactions. After reading all the reviews on this site I was very concerned to use this prep. I am a veteran of 5 colonoscopy procedures so I know what to expect. Overall Plenvu was very effective, worked quickly and cleaned me out fast. The problem that I dealt with was similar to others in that the taste was beyond horrible. It took every bit of effort not to vomit it right back up. I followed the advice of others and tried to chase it with gatorade, lemon slices, lifesavers, straws, drinking slow, etc and nothing really put a dent into that taste and I will have nightmares thinking about how awful it tasted after every sip. After finishing the second dose I was nauseous for about an hour but it wasn't terrible and it wasn't unexpected because I had read all the reviews. Overall this product works and does the job. As with any of these products and I've tried most of them they taste terrible! We all have to remember that this is not about the short-term inconvenience it's about the long-term and potentially life saving benefits of colonoscopy screening. Read More Read Less

Horrible experience, have used other bowel preps before for colonoscopy preps and never had the side effects that Plenvu produced. I am very healthy, on no medications except vitamins-routine colonoscopy. I was able to get first dose down, taste terrible but I expected that, worked within 30 minutes and continued for 2-3 hours before slowing down. Developed a mild headache, continued to drink a lot of water and clear liquids, even during the night. 2nd dose-got it down and drank the 16 ozs of water following, very nauseated but did not vomit. Worked immediately and for the next 3 hours, every 2-3 minutes. Developed a excruitating headache which would worsen when sitting on toilet, headache was so bad I debated on going to ER, I have never had a headache like this in my life. Im a nurse and I thought it was severe dehydration so I drank 32 oz of water and slowly the headache went away. At procedure center I was still having to use the bathroom every 30 mins, small amt but still going which I have never had happen with previous preps. Keep in mind, while drinking the extra fluids it was difficult because you feel so nauseated but I was able to do it-also the more fluid you drink causes more frequent diarrhea-what you take in immediately comes back out. I was so dehydrated they had to stick me 4 times before getting IV access, never has happened before. Procedure went well. Still passing liquid for another 24 hours before I had a semi normal bm. Please be aware that this prep may be less to drink but is very concentrated and the side effects it causes are not worth it. I would not recommend this for anyone. At the procedure center I asked some nurses if they had had patients with similar reactions to this prep and they said they were not hearing good things. Read More Read Less

I was given this medication by my MD. I was told to complete survey after completing prep for a amazon gift card. When I attempted to complete survey, it was closed. When I attempted to email company about prep, the email was invalid. The prep was horrible. It tastes awful and made me nauseous. I had abdominal cramping and nausea for 6 hours after dosing. I would not recommend this to anyone.

it was kind of difficult to get down, but I did. it cleaned me out very well. it wasn't to rough on my stomach. my blood pressure shot up extremely high after drinking solution and five days later its still elevated. called my doctor and she had no idea if the plenvu could have caused the spike. my blood pressure was 125/82 before plenvu and shot up to 140's over 90's after. really scary
