Had been on Advair for 10 yrs and gladly switched 5/2019 as my out of pocket limit was going way up under new plan. Same drugs and dosage but the delivery to the system seems less effective. With Advair I could miss a dose or be a few hours late and I wouldnâ??t even notice it. Now, I need to be really careful to take it exactly 12 hrs apart as thereâ??s no margin. Also I think I have to be more c...

I have been using Advair fo years with perfect control. I haven't had to use a rescue inhaler for at least five years. During the first month on Wixela, I have had to use my rescue inhaler about 7 times, so my asthma is no longer controlled. I reviewed some of the studies, and Wixela should work, so I am surprised it hasn't worked for me, and don't know why.

I cannot complete my 2 mile run. I am out of breath all the time in my normal life (walking fast, stairs...). Going to bed is also hard for me to catch my breath. Insurance will not approve advair now bc of the generic. I am starting an appeal with them.

Adair has worked well for me for 15 years. Now Medicare switched it to Wixela and I'm suffering attacks requiring an instant inhaler for the first time in years. My chest is "tight" breathless, and I have no energy. Will see if my doctor can switch me back to Adair before I'm hospitalized again

I was originally taking advair for my asthma. Never had any problems. I was switched to wixela by my insurance provider. I have had increased asthma symptoms including coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath which were so bad I was ready to go to the emergency room. I had not used my rescue inhaler for months. After starting wixela, I have been using it every day, sometimes two or three times a day. This drug does not work! If you've had problems with this drug please contact the FDA and complain. They need to re-examine this drug before someone is seriously harmed. Read More Read Less

My daughter’s asthma has been under control for a long time with Advair. Since switching to this medication, her asthma is worse than it’s ever been. Not only does this not control her asthma, it seems to be triggering it. It’s unbelivable this made it to market.

I have used Advair Discus for 18 years but my insurance will only cover it for 6 months out of the year and I can't afford it otherwise. They sugested Wixela as a generic version but over the past month my asthma has gotten really bad 24/7 and I've had a brochial infection almost the entire time and had to be treated with an antibiotic which only partially helped. I am so short of breat I switched back to Advair and hope to find a way to afford it the rest of the year. This medicine shouldd never have met FDA approval because I don't think I am getting enough of it because of the generic delivery system. Never want to use it again!Read More Read Less

I have been on Advair since I was a small child. Advair has resulted in near perfect control of my asthma, the only catch it is really expensive. Before I tried Wixela, I read the reviews on this site. As a pharmacy student, I know that technically, Wixela as the same drugs as Advair. I also know that this site isn't a perfect review system. Immediately after taking Wixela, my blood pressure shot up 20 points. I also felt more agitated, I had headache and restless. Iâ??m extremely athletic as well. Normally, it is 120/110 over 80. Taking Wixela made it go up to 140. I don't know if Mylan has a bad batch or they are still working on production or QA. I strongly recommend against Wixela. The good news is that the makers of Advair produce a generic under Prasco. It is exactly the same as Advair and it is made by the same people. It looks like it is available everywhere but CVS. In summary, my breathing was good on Wixela, but abnormal blood pressure and mood will make me quit. I will either go back to Advair or Prasco Advair.Read More Read Less

After Advair has controlled my asthma for 18 years, my insurance company changed over to Wixela. I am a runner and highly active person who can barely function after 1 month of Wixela. It has gotten progressively worse each day with tightness in the chest, coughing, always clearing my throat, sore throat, and I can not sleep at night because of my inabaility to breathe. My doctor is currently working on getting my insurance to cover the Advair again.

This switch from Advair is not at all effective just as other reviewers have claimed. I will alert my provider and request Advair again - quality of life is so important and Wixela just doesn't do the job.

I was on Wixela for 5 days with symptoms of extreme heart palpitations, shakiness, nervousness. Wixela is awkward to hold and has two holes were you breath in the two medicines separately, instead of breathing in the combine medicine through one hole like Advair has. My insurance company and doctor put me back on Advair on day 6. It took two weeks being back on Advair for my asthma to be under control I would never recommend Wixela to anyone. It needs to be taken off the market.

This medication does not work. I've been on it for a week now and my asthma is getting worse. If you can continue on advair do not switch. I go to the gym regularly and today I struggled to get through my workout. I felt like I just could not breathe. Third is a horrible product and should not be on the market.

I was switched from Advair which worked wonderfully for about 12 years. I noticed within days my breathing was more difficult. I was put on Prasco Fluticasone Propionate/ salmeterol DISKUS inhalation powder the next month and a week later felt so much better. It has same DISKUS as ADVAIR. They tried to give me this Wixela again aftrr 2 months and I REFUSE TO SWITCH BACK. It's a crime they can prescribe something so worthless!

Not sure how this med made it passed the studies. Iâ??ve been on advair for years, during this period I rarely had to use my rescue inhaler. After switching to Wixela my asthma symptoms returned immediately! I have the same symptoms as when I would run out of advair, having to rely on rescue inhaler and breathing treatments. Please recall this ineffective drug, it has been totally ineffective for me.

I've been taking Advair for about 16 years to control my asthma. Recently my mail order pharmacy switched to Wixela Inhub and I'm very unsatisfied. I've been using it for a month and my symptoms are worse than they've ever been. Scratch throat, coughing, lots of fluid. I've asked my doctor to write a new prescription for Advair (Dispense as written).

This medication does not work. My asthma was under control for years with advair, now I'm having to use ventolin daily again. I've gotten bronchitis because of this medication. If you like flu symptoms without the fever that's what I feel like. Constant headaches, tightness in the chest, sore throat, and mucus throughout your chest and sinuses. My current insurance and pharmacy refuse to give me advair saying my plan no longer covers name brand. Atleast I got ventolin because I'm never using wixela again. I'm writing this at 3 in the morning because I cant breathe and feels like I have the flu, but it's probably bronchitis again. Please if this reaches anyone that is looking into this medicine DO NOT TAKE WIXELA its poison approved by the fda. Read More Read Less

This med does NOT work for me. I have not had to use a rescue inhaler in the 17 years that Ive been on ADVAIR. After the recent switch to the WIXELA I cannot get my asthma under control and its scaring me. Lips are tingly, heart is racing, feels like I am not getting any medicine out of it. I cant believe this med made it past the FDA.

The disc does not disburse the medicine right (all in your mouth). The mouth piece is too small. The disc does not fit right in your hand to hold it and then try to use it. I actually had the disc skip/lose a dose when pulling the lever down. My asthma got worse having to reply on the rescue inhaler a lot...because the medicine does not get to where it needs to be! It gave me constipation, bloating, cramps in my feet and the 24/7 horrible taste that something crawled up inside my mouth and had died. No matter what I drank or ate I couldn't get rid of the taste. I think I actually put on more weight because of drinking soft drinks and fruit drinks (trying to get rid of the taste). I finally threw a fit stopped using Wixela. I gave up breathing so that I could go to the bathroom and get rid of the taste of death in my mouth. I had hoped that I was the only one that experienced the crazy side effects but it looks like it's quite a few. Read More Read Less
