Noticed an immediate change in condition- so thankful. I was have severe Ulcerative Colitis and Psoriatic Arthritis and no longer responding to Humira. So thankful for Avsola. Love that it's an infusion; only side effect was slight headache.

This medication absolutely wrecked my body. Since the day I started it it was so bad. I never felt so bad and everyone around me said I looked the most sick while I was on Avsola. I do not recommend. I’m still dealing with ramifications from taking this medication.

I am an ulcerative colitis patient who began to take Remicade in 2018. I was perilously ill until I started to receive Remicade via infusion, and I can tell you without exaggeration that it brought me back to life. Since that time I have had Remicade infusions every 8 weeks with absolutely no ill side effects and my condition went into remission. Then my insurance company (Arizona Complete Health) switched me to Avsola and after my first (and only) infusion with it I became extremely ill! For two days I had serious intestinal cramping, diarrhea, headache, and severe nausea. I immediately reported this to my gastroenterologist who is quite concerned, as am I. I can tell you that Avsola is not even close to Remicade and I would recommend that you avoid it if you can. Shame on Avsola for promoting this as a comparable medication and shame on Remicade for charging so much that patients cannot afford to take it.Read More Read Less

I, too, was forced off of Remicade by my insurance company. My ulcerative colitis was perfectly managed with Remicade, which I began to take with infusions in 2018, and I never had any side effects. In fact, Remicade literally brought me back to life. Then I was forced to accept Avsola (June 2023) and 12 hours after the infusion I experienced severe diarrhea, cramping, and vomiting. After that subsided I had total exhausted which is continuing into the second day now. I don’t know how long this will go on and I am frightened. Avsola is in no way an adequate substitute for Remicade. Shame on the insurance companies for forcing patients to do this and on the Remicade manufacturer for charging so much. This is an outrageous disgrace. My advice to everyone is to avoid Avsola at all costs. Read More Read Less

Forced off of successful infusions of Remicade by insurance company.
Severe diarrhea, nausea, severe itching all over my body. Extreme fatigue to the point that I can barely function -unable to do daily activities. This drug is in no way similar to Remicade.

I just started the Infusions about 2 weeks ago. I have been extremely tired and just want to lay around all day and sleep. Overall after the rest of my treatments it may kick in and do what needs to be done.

After 15 years of successful treatment with Remicade, United Healthcare forced me off of it and onto Avsola, which caused my PsA and psoriasis to come out of remission. It goes without saying that Avsola does NOT have the same effectiveness as Remicade and I am paying the price for the insurance company's greed. Insurance companies should NOT have the power to do this to people.

I was force switched by united healthcare from remicade to avsola due to their ignorant and inhumane policy. I don't care if it's a "bio-similar" - it is not the same. For the first time in 3 years I am no longer in remission and had to be put back on steroids to get symptoms under control.
