When my pharmacy sent me a notification that my Xulane had been switched to this new alternative, I definitely did NOT have any positive expectations, especially after visiting many review posts on Zafemy. I was extremely worried about breakthrough bleeding, heavy clotting, a messed up cycle (I'm 30, so I've had more than enough of inconsistent cycling), and the consistent reviews that the Zafemy ...

This is the worst birth control ever… The patches do not stick. I went thru 3 patches in 2 days. I change the site every time and they would still drop off. These were manufactured very poorly. I’m extremely disappointed

My pharmacy switched me from the Zulane (which I rarely had an issues with) to the Zefamy patch and it falls off CONSISTENTLY. In the last month-ish it has fallen off three out of four times and resulted in me feeling like crap and getting my period twice. If I cannot get Zulane I am 100% switching back to the pill…

When you can get these patches to stay on completely, it works fine! But the adhesive they use is so awful and barely sticks!! I was on Xulane for yearssss and this Zafemy doesn't even compare. Because of the lack of consistency in the patches and adherence, I would have crazy breakthrough bleeding, my body and emotions yo-yoing because it was confused. Would sometimes feel as though I had my period for a whole month symptom wise.

I absolutely hate this prescription the patch doesn’t stick it will fall off without me even noticing, the side effects are awful, i feel nauseous on it, and get migraines. Do not let your pharmacy switch xulane for this product you will regret it, and do not let people tell you there isn’t a difference between the two you know your body better than anyone and they will gaslight you to thinking this is a good drug when it is not. I have no idea how this was approved for the general public but i hope they remove this product from all pharmacies, i have never heard a good thing about this patch and all the reviews you see are true. Please tell your doctor to include “no substitutions” when they send your xulane to the pharmacy or you’ll be stuck with this bsRead More Read Less

I’ve been on Xulane for almost 4 years and my pharmacy was out once and gave me Zafemy instead. I ended up burning through all 3 patches in less than a week because the adhesive wouldn’t stick (granted it was in summer and I was in a pool, so I figured the chlorine melted the adhesive) but even after that it wouldn’t stay on for more than a couple days. I had my Dr. change my script to “as written” but every time my refills were up, the pharmacy would try to give me Zafemy again until I fought them on it. This time around I didn’t even look at what they gave me until after I paid and left so I figured I would give it another chance (mid-winter). My period started a week early and is still going. My periods on Xulane would be ~5 days and relatively regular (start and end on the same day every month). I had the worst cramps I’ve had in months, have been bleeding/spotting for 11 days and have been extremely bloated. I do not recommend that anyone use this. I have poor time management and was having more regular periods on the pill.Read More Read Less

My insurance company express scripts switched me to zafemy from xulane without telling me after me taking xulane for 8 years. The 1st time I used it, I was bleeding for the entire month. I don't have a period and that's why I use a 4th patch on the 4th week. Zafemy made me bleed heavily for a month and my uterus hurt all the time. The 2nd month, fibroid tumors were all over growing outside the vaginal area because they had nowhere else to grow. I was in so much pain. I stopped taking zafemy and transferred my script to another pharmacy for xulane and they've gone away slowly but surely. Read More Read Less

I use Xulane patches to skip my period and as a birth control. Without any notice, my pharmacy provided Zafemy instead, after 6 YEARS of using Xulane patches. I was told over and over that they are the "same thing". They are NOT. The front of the box will even tell you this. At face value, yes they say "150/35mcg per day". But look just below that, where it says what EACH patch contains. Xulane contains " 4.86 mg norelgestromin, USP and 0.53 mg ethinyl estradiol" PER patch. Meanwhile, Zafemy contains "3.15 mg norelgestromin, USP and 0.289 mg ethinyl estradiol" PER patch. Despite saying that these two products are the same, they simply are not. Despite saying that they deliver the same amount of medication every day, they do not. I have experienced mood swings, heavy break through bleeding, and the zafemy patch is flimsy and does not stay on. Do not accept this from your pharmacy.Read More Read Less

Like others had issues with it sticking. Pharmacy changed to Zafemy because they said it is "their preferred". Last month they were dropped down in Tier so most insurance companies won't even cover. The reason stated was "ineffective".

This patch doesn’t stick!!!!!! I’m afraid of getting pregnant with this patch because for no reason they changed it at the pharmacy I was using Xulane for 6 years. I don’t understand why they changed me to this patch, I don’t recommend it at all ,it falls of after 2 days. I just hate this patch. They should not keep having this on the market.

The patches do not stick. I applied it to clean dry skin. My very first patch would not stick so I applied another one right after. The second one stayed on for 3 days but I could tell it was not very secure. Thank god I am not worried about pregnancy right now and I’m just using birth control to balance my hormones. Do NOT use this if you do not want a pregnancy. These have absolutely no adhesive to them. Needs to be fixed or taken off the market. Will be calling my gyno to try something else. I originally was taking the Xulane patches but for no reason my pharmacy switched it to Zafemy. After 1 day it already fell off. I can’t even go an hour without checking on it because I’m afraid of it falling off because the adhesive is so weak it will slide around by just normal every day movements. Even though the directions say not to apple the patch below the waistline I do it any way because I find it’s the only place it will stay the longest because of the heat my body projects which makes the adhesive stick the longest. I won’t put it anywhere else because of how afraid I am of the patch coming off without me noticing. The Xulane patch was sooooo much better. I didn’t have to worry one bit with it because once you stuck it on it wouldn’t come off because of how perfect the strength of the adhesive it had. I’m going to try to get my pharmacy to switch me back because it’s getting to ridiculous with the zafemy patch and enough is enough. Read More Read Less

Automatically switched from Xulane to this brand. Very disappointed and want back on what was working perfectly fine for me (xulane) this patch sucks. Day 2 it's already falling off. I've had a bad headache all day and I'm also having mood swings!

Patch falls off. Bad stomach cramps. Why would the pharmacy switch me to a different brand when Xulane was working just fine for me and did for over a year! Now I switch to this and it's got me all messed up! Smh

It fell off after only four days of use. My skin was dry and clean upon application. I pressed for ten seconds as specified. This patch does not work very well, has very little stick ability. I do NOT recommend it. Manufacturer was annoying to get ahold of or have responsibility for their product.
