Terrible moodiness that drifted to depression. Hated to be touched, irritable, always sad. Constant bleeding /spotting from Day 13 onward.

I’ve been on this birth control for 2 months and I had to discontinue it. I was diagnosed with PCOS and I’ve been taking birth control for over 10 years so I know my body. However, this pill the first month I took it I noticed a new onset of period cramps when I wasn’t on my period (weird). I did notice an alarming amount of discharge throughout the last two months that I thought I had a yeast infection and normally I’m not a dischargey gal. On the 2nd month I experienced worse than normal period cramps daily after the first week of starting the pack again. I wouldn’t recommend this pill for someone that has PCOS because the normal cramping is already very uncomfortable and this pill intensified cramps I usually don’t have. Only good thing about this pill is my appetite did decrease but I was just bloated all the time because of the cramping and enlargement of my uterus.Read More Read Less

I was given this pill to treat endometris and for hormonal balance after being on birth control for so long. After I decided to no longer be on birth control I noticed a dramatic change. My hormones levels became so out of whack that I did not feel normal at all. Almost like a drug addict being on the pill for so long and going cold turkey withdrawals. Its been 6 years since I've been off the pill and I am trying to find a way to feel normal again. Some of my symptoms are depression, fatigue, anxiety. I am going to continue to try the natural way with vitamins and search for the right place to get me balanced without taking pharmaceuticals. Reading some of the reviews and side effects It deterred me away , suicidal ideation is not something I would want as a side effect. Read More Read Less

I have extremely heavy long periods, I've tried Iuds, multiple pills, patch ring, etc, everything made me extremely depressed, emotional, weight gain, acne, etc, if there was a symptom i had it, as a last resort my doctor recommend nextstellis, omg life changing, 2 day periods that I don't even think i can call a period, more like 2 days of spotting, I do still have cramps on day one but that's it, my mood is stabilized, and I feel like a normal human being!

I started taking this birth control because I was previously on lessina which caused no problems really except changes in mood and probably increased anxiety which I naturally have but besides that cleared my skin which I was really happy about and my periods were very consistent. I messed up my cycle with lessina however by skipping placebo pills and ever since then my skin got bad so I resorted to switching birth controls entirely and by gyno suggested nexstellis. I was skeptical but decided to give it a try and so far ive been taking it for a month and two weeks and I don't think im liking it. It's given me more acne specifically cystic acne on my forehead and jawline and it hasn't gone away. My sex drive is basically nonexistent which isn't good considering I am in a relationship. So basically im gonna finish this second month then decide if I want to switch back or continue because it's not looking too good right now.Read More Read Less

I started this pill back in May to help ease my symptoms of endometriosis and the breakthrough bleeding I experienced was just as if not more painful than my day 2-period cramps. And 4 months later and still experiencing terrible cramps and irregular bleeding. My sex drive is completely gone and I haven't been this depressed in years. Don't take this pill.

I was given nextstellis by my doctor to hopefully help relieve some of my PCOS symptoms as well, i had been on the same pill the last 7 years so i knew my body would go through some changes. So far the only noticeable change is surprisingly it hasnt made my appetite skyrocket or induce cravings, i havent had as hard of a bloat as i used too. But, the acne inital flare up for me sucks. I am now on week three and my skin is not doing well. I have pretty normal/combo skin so these breakouts make me soo upset. I expected this starting a new BC however. I am going to check back in two weeks to see if any relief! Read More Read Less

I tried taking this pill because two other birth control options weren’t working for me. I lost all sex drive, became really irritable and depressed. I had lots of nausea and constantly felt like my heart is pounding. I’m a little concerned and might go to the doctors to see if it caused any lasting effects. Honestly the protection it gives isn’t worth all the side effects.

Ok, so I am only on my second month but have certainly noticed some changes. Backstory, i have been irregular all my life and started to take this BC to regulate my period in case i want to have babies in the near future. Month 1: a. SO MUCH DISCHARGE!!!! this is the biggest change for me! but nothing panty liners cant fix! b. i do think my boobs are a lot bigger lol and i defnitely notice some tenderness but nothing too crazy. c. i think this has helped with my "acne" if you can call it that. i have pretty clear skin for the most part, but i do get the occasional pimple especially when my period is about to come on. the painful ones, the cystic ones that marinate under your cheeks for weeks before they surface, NO PIMPLES! again, i am only on the 2nd week of month 2, but i see no negatives thus far. started using for pre menopause symptoms from day 7 -very tender breasts. this continued for entire time by month 3 of usage heavy period with clotting and mid cycle spotting month 4 - random gush of blood by month 5 had gained 15 lbs, lots of bloating and water retention. super heavy period that lasted 10 days. it is believed that the estrogen in the the pill, exacerbated previous fibroid issues and caused several to grow and cause severe bleeding and bloating stopped nextstellisl after month 5 one month after stopped nextstellis - bleeding stopped now 3 months after stopping and weight going down and no more bleedingRead More Read Less

I took this pill for two weeks in October and had a immense amount of side effects and decided to quit taking it. I didn’t have a period for two months afterwards and then had two periods in January and now have missed February and March so far. I have always had regular on time period and I am so anxious about it not coming back or even regulating and I am attempting to get pregnant in the near future. I have never had a worse reaction to a BC pill.

If you are taking this strictly for birth control, I recommend. However, if you are taking this to help with heavy bleeding, I would think twice. I've tried numerous birth control methods and I was recommended this one. I've bled for months and it hasn't helped the bleeding issue at all. Side effects are minimal and I'd say it has helped with acne and mood compared to other pills. No weight gain or changes there.
