I am a 47 yr old M, 6ft, 175 lbs. I have had repeated cellulitis in my foot and an open wound on the ball for 8 months. I am not diabetic yet I have neuropathy of my lower legs. I am recovering from Osteomyelitis. I am getting skin grafts this week for my wound. I was hospitalized again for my Cellulitis. I had a wound culture on my wound and it tested positive for staph and MRSA. After IV Vancomycin and Metropenem treated the staph and brought WBC to 8.4, I was released from the hospital and put on Linezolid 600 mg 2xs a day for 10 days for MRSA. I am a high risk patient because I take Atenolol, Lisiniprol, and Hydrochlorithiaziade for high blood pressure/high heart rate. 5 issues with this antibiotic. One, the tiredness is awful. 2, I had to stop my Flexeril due to interactions, 3, I am on my last day and have developed a bad sore throat,. 4, my Gabapentin combined with Linezolid decreased my heart rate so I had to decrease the Gabapentin for neuropathy pain. Lastly food interaction and increase in blood pressure. My BP spiked and I had to temporarily increase my Hydrochlorithiaziade and limit regular food intake. This was a last resort antibiotic for me and I was closely monitored by my infectious disease Drs and Reg Dr. This is a strong no joke antibiotic used to treat skin infections/MRSA and has successfully treated both but you have to be careful taking it. I am not satisfied with the antibiotic in terms of side effects but grateful it worked. Read More Read Less

I took this for an Acid Fast Bacteria in a surgery site about 7 weeks after surgery. I took it for approximately 6-8 weeks. The infectious disease doctor who prescribed it never tested my blood to see if it was affecting anything. It had basically shut down my bone marrow completely. This was paired with the antibiotic Mocifloaxcin. I finally went to urgent care and they immediately sent me to hospital. I was dizzy, tired, and cold all the time. Bloodwork came back my hemoglobin was 6.4. White blood count 1.4. Red blood cells and platelets just as low. I had to get blood transfusions immediately. Because this shut down my bone marrow and immune system I got pneumonia over night. There were black spots all over my lungs. If you take this…please get blood checked often. I nearly died. Seemed to be normal for 3 days. Then my face & eyes began to swell. Very tired. Woke up 6th day with a sore throat and by the next morning my lips and gums were swollen. My mouth hurt so bad I could hardly eat anything. When my lips started bleeding I stopped the medication.
