Best medication. 1 pill a day. A lot easier for my kid and he still has an appetite

Had high hopes of this medication working. Unfortunately it didn’t do much. At least compared to what I experienced with adhansia xr which is now unavailable. My doctor was all excited about this product and it was really lackluster and I didn’t quite reach my daily potential. Now we’re going to have to look at switching to something else since adhansia is gone and Azstarys underperformed.

Our doc recommended this because he thought it would work longer than the other options. Not so much…This medication at the highest dose didn’t work longer for our 15 year old son. It worked like the other stimulants he tried (concerta, focalin XL, Vyvanse) but stopped working by about 3-4pm (took it first thing in am at 5:45). He said he felt numb on it and couldn’t concentrate because he felt he didn’t care. Very strange! They lowered his dose and the numbness and apathy went away a little bit but he started getting in trouble in the last 2 classes of the day. He chucked a basketball at his best friends head in phys ed/health and gave him a bloody nose, and although they were laughing, he got a detention. Dr. Wanted to give home a short acting after school but I’m so annoyed since my husband and I both work. If we’re not there to give it to him it won’t happen, no matter the alarms on phones etc. Not sure where to go from here but going back to Vyvanse since he has a few left before his appointment. My child used concerta, Vyvanse, adderrall in the past. Every time he was thrown into crying fits or became aggressive. Azstarys has been mostly tolerable to him. Not perfect, but he is doing much better with his brother and classmates. His teachers noticed an immediate positive difference. He is finishing his assignments and able to stay focused during lessons.

I was a little skeptical at first. I’ve tried lots of stimulants and non stimulants before, but after a few days I noticed a huge difference. I can feel it kick in fast and leave my body gently at the entire the day no crash.

Life changing. Before Azstarys I struggled with most daily tasks. Now I can stay on top of my school work and stay focused at work.

Still trying to figure out why we tried this medication when he wasn’t doing all that bad on the other stuff. The doctor wanted us to try this because it was a pro drug and it started working quickly in the morning. It works like after an hour that’s not quickly for us at all! The doctor started us at the middle dose and now we are at the highest and I’m very underwhelmed. Likely switching back to what we were on or something better. I’d rather keep waking my kid up an hour before he needs to get up and give him his Ritalin.Read More Read Less

This med did nothing. Felt a little bit after an hour and then nothing. I’d rather take my Ritalin first thing along with Vyvanse and experience better adhd control than just Ritalin in the morning. Bummed because I had high hopes for highest dose. They need higher dosing options.

It took a few weeks for my son to get settled on the medication, but once he was he has been doing great. Focused at school and home. No more disciplinary reports coming home. Very happy with the results.

I'm an adult woman with ADHD, diagnosed in my 30s with both hyperactive and inattentive types of ADHD, on the severe end of the spectrum. This medication has been life-changing. I tried several other medications (Ritalin IR, Focalin IR, Adderall IR, Adderall XR), and this has helped me the most, with the least number of negative side effects. I'm on a very low dose - I take apart my prescription pills and repack them in generic capsules at 1/2 doses. These help me feel like I'm "firing on all cylinders" without some of the harsh and negative side effects as the other medications. I feel calmly energetic, with great executive function, and ability to "just do the thing" (although sometimes I will still get distracted with things like chores or less important tasks). On the other meds, I always felt like something else was in the driver's seat. On Azstarys, I feel completely like myself, and in control of my actions, my day, and my emotions. I eat normally (no appetite suppression), I sleep very well on days I take Azstarys, and I feel 100% like myself. I drink more water when I take Azstarys because I feel constantly parched, but honestly this is probably healthier since I wasn't drinking enough water before anyway. The only caveat is I cannot take this every single day. At most, I can take it 2 days in a row, then I have to take 1-2 days break otherwise I feel mentally and physically burnt out, so I try to time my dosages for days I know I can have uninterrupted focused time to work. If I try to force the Azstarys to work, or I take a higher dose, I just end up burning out harder and can't get anything done, so I make sure to take the break days. I also need to increase my dosage during my period cycles, since ADHD symptoms in adult women tend to be drastically worse during periods. Overall, I highly recommend trying Azstarys, particularly if the Ritalin and Focalin based medications work better for you than the Adderall type meds. However, I'm speaking only from the perspective of an adult with a "typical" adult lifestyle (9-5 work days, no homework, some continuing education classes, hobbies, no additional stressors that can come with being in grade school or college). Given that I take 1/2 doses, I feel like these doses might be too high for children in general, so please work closely with a psychiatrist and start with low doses, then increase as needed! Azstarys is a life saver. Raising a family, taking care of a husband, managing a home is not easy with ADHD. Azstarys makes it a little bit easier to manage it all.

Recently started my first semester of college. I was struggling with multiple classes on multiple campus locations. It was difficult to keep track of my schedule and get everything finished. Azstarys helps me focus and get everything turned in on time. It starts fasts and lasts for most of the day.

Azstarys is the first stimulant that didn’t keep me up at night. With other stimulants they would work fine during the day, but didn’t shut off at night. With Azstarys I don’t have that issue.

My son was not paying attention and constantly getting called down to the principal‘s office before Azstarys last year. Since starting Azstarys his new teacher doesn’t even know he has ADHD. He is just a normal student. He is excelling, getting along with his classmates, and is loving school. 100% improvement on Azstarys.
