This drug has been AMAZING for me! I have bipolar disorder with severe depression. Depression that would leave me so scared of life and fear each day...absolute turmoil. Before I started this med. I was having about 10 good days to 11 terrible, awful depression days (didn't think I would come out of the depression days) couldn't plan things not knowing how I was going to be. I have been on a...

I am a patient and a pharmacist. I questioned my therapist about the the black box warning and hesitated to start this medication. I failed on Rexalti and never had suicidal thoughts before. I needed to try a new medication. After 3 months of use with Auvelity I found myself in bipolar state of mind with rapid changes in mood from manic to depressed states coming as quickly as 3 times a day. I e...

My college-age daughter has been struggling with MDD for 6 years. Having failed multiple attempts with various other first-line antidepressants, we were excited when Auvelity became available. We had so much hope because it was finally something different. The first few days on the medication were encouraging. My daughter had more energy and was doing things that she hadn't been able to do in some time - simple things, like cleaning her bathroom in her dorm. When suffering from MDD, little things like this can be monumental. She had some minor side effects from the start - sweating and trouble sleeping, but by the 6th day, she developed severe anxiety, which quickly dissipated by discontinuing the medication. Unfortunately, Auvelity did not turn out to be the answer we were so hoping it would be. I'm sure this med will help others, but watch out for serious side-effects. Read More Read Less

I’ve been taking dextrometorphan alone (not bupropion) for almost a year now. This medication saved my life. Be aware that it can be a little distressing on the stomach and be very careful with your dosage, it will get you high and it will be a wild ride, also it is highly addictive so take care of yourself, also be very careful with caffeine and alcohol if you can stop drinking all together I would say it’s the best if not don’t drink more than one or two. Try to Avoid food that is too greasy as much as you can, don’t take it too late in the day because it won’t let you sleep. I guess that’s pretty much it. Meditate, excersice and talk to someone. Hope this helps you. There is always hope, hold on. ??Read More Read Less

This medicine gave me nasty side effects- excessive sweating and sexual dysfunction. I also had crying fits.

Today is day 2 of taking this new medication. The cost is over a thousand dollars so the local drug rep arranged it so I only paid $10. I’ve read a lot of good things about this medication, so I’m looking forward to feeling better. So far I’ve tried Effexor (Do not take this drug) and Prozac with no success. They say it takes affect fairly quickly. I will post an update after a couple of weeks.

This is my update . …. So disappointed but this med was not a fit for me . It made me scarily suicidal . Worse than ever . If you have suicidality with your depression be VERY careful . If I had not stopped after a week I would not be here , I’m sure of it . If you begin this make sure you have people to keep tabs on you !

I've been feeling great since I started taking this. I've been sleeping well and feel well rested. Also, my appetite is reduced and I haven't been craving my usual snacks. Side effects have been: feeling a little trippy for about an hour after taking it the first couple of days but nothing scary or that affected my ability to function normally; waking up at night, but being able to go back to sleep. I think waking up has to do with when it starts to wear off. I'm going to try to be more regular with my dosing time to observe if it has any affect. I've had gastric bypass so that may be affecting it. This medicine has had the most observable affect of anything I've tried in years and has lifted my fog of hopelessness. Best wishes to anyone reading this.Read More Read Less

I know it’s only been two days for me taking this but I figured any info Is important . It’s been pretty uneventful . The only 3 things I noticed were that my already existing tinnitus was a bit more noticeable , my fat vision was slightly blurry and I’ve been tossing and turning . All very manageable things considering . I will continue to update as I move along . Here’s to the hood that this makes life easier for a huge population

I’m exploring this medication with my doctor because I’ve tried so many and have given so much time to each one but to no avail. My doctor and I rest up on the clinical studies and how this medication is in an entirely separate category in terms of its makeup and the neurotransmitters that it works with. Bottom line, this medication is thinking outside the box and we are intrigued by the results in the studies. I appreciate the reviews that have helped me over the years, so I’m here to give back and will update all with my progress. Fingers crossed that we got it right this time. Read More Read Less

Just a quick note to get the ball rolling with this incredibly interesting medication (1st review I think?). I'm currently titrating up - just finishing my first day of two doses of 45mg/105mg separated by 8 hours, this coming after three days of a single dose each day. So far so good, nothing bad - but also nothing great (yet, at least). I will say I was a bit more productive throughout the day today than I have been in the last few weeks. I take another prescribed medication, dextroamphetamine, which is listed as a significant interaction drug for Auvelity. I am being cautious of the warnings and I'll try my best to remember to make a progress post on this page. My doctor seems pretty optimistic about this one so my fingers are crossed here.Read More Read Less
