This drug has been AMAZING for me! I have bipolar disorder with severe depression. Depression that would leave me so scared of life and fear each day...absolute turmoil. Before I started this med. I was having about 10 good days to 11 terrible, awful depression days (didn't think I would come out of the depression days) couldn't plan things not knowing how I was going to be. I have been on a...

Auvelity literally saved my life. I was on SSDI for PTSD and treatment-resistant depression for years. I tried every medication. I tried ECT. I tried ketamine, I tried psilocybin. Nothing worked. Until Auvelity. Now I'm working with a local organization that helps people with disabilities get back to work. It's so weird to say, but Auvelity saved my life.

GI upset for first 2 days only. This medication is simple to take and effective for drug resistant depression. I still need a different medication for anxiety, but Auvelity has had a positive impact on my life!

Auvelity has changed my life! I'm 52 y/o. I've suffered with treatment resistant MDD since my teenage years... debilitating depression. Within 2 weeks of starting this medication I realized that maybe this is what 'normal' people feel like. I can function now.... shower, complete household tasks, participate in social activities, have hobbies... I experience love, joy, calmness, sadness, grief, contentmet... all emotions. I'm not just a shell of person anymore. Honestly, I'm actually dealing with grief realizing all the things I have lost out on in my life, but I am so grateful to be where I'm at today. I have bad days like normal people but I can cry and I actually feel better. I've never experienced relief with crying before. I still struggle with irritability, but even that is better than before starting Auvelity. I am so relieved that I have found this medication. My doctor has slowly weaned me off all my other antidepressants. I am now only on Auvelity. I have never been on just 1 antidepressant, ever. I hope the drug manufacturers will find a way to make this medication available financially for more people. If I lose my insurance and had to come off this medication... well, that would just be cruel and unusual punishment. I'm sorry for all those that have not had a good experience with this medication. Don't give up looking for other treatments. I hope you find your joy as I have. Auvelity has truely saved my life. Read More Read Less

I stumbled serendipitously on the combo of Delsym and Wellbutrin after a Covid infection a few weeks ago and was prescribed Auvelity after observing I felt much better with that DIY version. Over the last 3 weeks, I have felt better than I have felt in the last 10 years. I've tried many antidepressants and they must work to some extent (because I felt worse when I’ve tried to stop them) but I was still very tearful, ruminative, irritable, hopeless... like Eeyore, but with anxiety. Within three days of the DXM/Wellbutrin, and continuing with Auvelity, my outlook on life has changed in ways that are difficult to explain. I feel lighter, less fretful, fewer intrusive thoughts, less self conscious, I find I’m able to tease and engage my husband and daughter when they are behaving ridiculously instead of shouting or getting my feelings hurt and withdrawing. My word finding ability has returned (I had some brain fog related to my depression) and I’m able to think more clearly. I’m able to find humor in things I used to find irritating. Life isn’t so overwhelming, and it’s no longer a massive chore to get out of bed in the morning. I’ve experienced some minor side effects—-namely some dry mouth and loose stools (that I wouldn’t classify as quite as bad as diarrhea). The medication is expensive, but manageable with a pre-authorization from my insurance provider and the manufacture coupon available on the website. This medication has made a world of positive difference for me and my family. I am so grateful. Read More Read Less

The first month I took it I was very pleased. I was able to get out of bed and complete a lot of task. I ended up spending a lot of money the first and second month kind of automatic hi it felt like I to didn’t always recall some of the things that I did but I was so happy that I was out of bed. I continued to take it. I also experienced increased sweating, and I mean sweating my neck, my head, my back my arms did it matter if I did some thing light in the kitchen I would just sweat, but again I was so happy I was out of bed I just dealt with it as they said some people their body would get used to it, and the sweating would go away. I did experience dry mouth, sexual decrees again sweating I have gained weight on the third month. I started the fourth month and told my doctor I could not take this medication anymore because of the sweating I would take a shower and as I was doing my hair it weird I would basically need another shower, it was horrible but it did help me get out of bed and face the first holiday without my father and had just been given news of a lifelong friend having stage four cancer and I was very depressed so to help me get out of bed the medication worked, but I’m no longer taking it Read More Read Less

I took Auvelity for over a month, and it really made me dizzy, and like others have said kind of high. My doctor thought I was doing better on it than without it. Increased it to 2x a day. I was dizzy all the time and then I wasn't aware of anything that I did during the day, and at night when I could sleep I was having nightmares about killing myself. I was only on the increased dose for 3 days when I downed several of them just to stop all of the thoughts of killing myself. I think I took 8 or 9 of them, and I told a friend who got me to a hospital within a couple of hours. I was sedated and put on a ventilator for 3 days. It has been a month since this happened and I still am struggling with brain fog and I cannot handle any stress at all. My brain is still trying to heal and this is so hard.Read More Read Less

This medication has been a life saver for me. I tried SSRIs, SNRIs, anti-psychotics, the list goes on and on. Auvelity worked for me within a day of taking it. Initially, my dr. thought I would take it twice daily—that was too much and gave me the high feeling many people are experiencing. I take it once a day in the morning and I have zero side effects.

The first day I took it I just felt a little bit more sluggish because I was previously on Wellbutrin and decreased my dose by taking this. Second day I took one pill at around 9:30 and by 12-1 my blood pressure dropped, my ears were ringing horribly, and I felt like I was on mdma. Crazy trippy feeling occurred on second day. It seems like it’s too much for me personally.

PLEASE If this medication is working for you then it is just the Wellbutrin in it - please get off this drug because you don’t need cough syrup! I’m 48 and have tried a ridiculous amount of various medications and considered treatment-resistant other than Prozac helping me barely keep my head above water. My doc started me on this and basically weened me off lexapro in a week, saying this was fast acting. I dont respond to Wellbutrin but I trust my doc. Not only did I experience what had to be withdrawals, this medication also made me crazy manic, mad and aggressive. I couldn’t get my mind together enough to get into his office and get off of it because I was clearly unwell but couldn’t function. Thank god I had some old Prozac. I got myself off of this and started taking my Prozac again and felt the rage stop within a few days, and I saved myself! I no longer will try anything new now, it has completely made me finally mistrust the pharma and my doc. This combo is just bad, what are they thinking! Cough syrup! This ruined my life in 2 months, relationships with my best friend, daughter, sister, family. I’m almost as angry as I was on this medication when I think about these 2 months because how could they put me on this bs drug! I trusted my doc and will never try anything ever again. Before I tried Spravato with no results. That’s a huge billion dollar money maker for Pharma. They are getting desperate to put new bs drugs on the market. Like I said, if anyone is benefiting from this medication, it’s the Wellbutrin in it. Get off this cough syrup drug and get on just Wellbutrin. Read More Read Less

Overall, I have to say this medication works as promised. It works quickly and within a couple of weeks. If you have tried many different anti depressants the side effects are slightly different. You may feel a little off balance and somewhat depersonalized. (SSRIs made me feel somewhat depersonalized for a couple of weeks), but after that, everything was fine. I never realized I was tearing up at music for no reason until my wife called my on it. She said you may want to talk to your doctor. I did and I have always had a hard time tolerating various SSRIs. Sadly, after a few months with this one, the erectile dysfuction and ejaculatory delay is beginning to be troublesome. You can eat Viagra like candy and it still does not work. I looked at the other drug that was recently approved that is coming out in January, but that failed FDA approval several times before. Auvelity was a real hope, but my wife is my best friend and worth looking at some other options with my family doctor. Good luck to each of you. Keep trying. Read More Read Less

My husband (77 years) suffered with MDD for over 2 years. He tried many other meds but was always forced to give them up because of adverse side effects. Auvelity had minimum side effects. After taking for about 10 weeks, he started to notice improvement. Now after 6 months, the depression is gone for the most part and he is feeling god. It seems like a miracle! This medicine has changed our lives.

I was told to take it every other day for the first week to see how my body reacts then every day the following week, twice a day on week three then week four I decide if I am ok with once a day. The first time I took it on a slow day. I didn’t have any work scheduled till 1. It was 10am when I took it and I immediately felt dizzy so I decided to take a nap. I figure I can take an hour nap then be fine. I didn’t wake up till 6pm. Thankfully, my coworker covered my appointments for me. The following day I felt ok. Less stressed. Time to take it again. I decide to take it very early, 6:30 am. My first appointment is at 9am, followed by a 1:pm, then 3 pm. At 9 I call my client and reschedule. She’s understanding. I’m too dizzy to drive. Very dry mouth, ringing in my ears, cloudy urine. I reschedule my 1pm to after my 3 pm and somehow function. The next day I’m ok. I realize I haven’t had negative thoughts. I’m also avoiding all negativity. Hubby put on a movie with gun violence and I couldn’t watch it. Almost like being on shrooms. Next day I’m ok. I function fine. I’m thinking this medication is great because I haven’t cried all week. Time to take again. I had nothing planned for the day so I thought I would get some housework done. I took my pill at 10:30am on a full stomach and started hanging clean clothes. It suddenly hits at 11. I’m too dizzy to stand so I lay down on the other side of the bed that doesn’t have clothes sorted. Sounds hurt my head. My ears are ringing, there’s popping in my brain, my eyes hurt and are watering. I get nothing done. My husband comes home and tells me my lips are pale. He gets a phone call and him talking hurts my head. I sleep till halfway through the next day. My entire weekend passed me by and I missed a Christmas party and left my coworker to handle an appointment without my help. I’m too scared to take another pill. Instead of adapting, each time I took the pill was worse! Read More Read Less

Been on Auvelity 9 months. Only thing that has worked for my MDD. Started with 2 doses per day but hard to maintain with a long commute and full time work schedule - taking med at 3 pm with peak of drug “loopy” effects around commute home time felt unsafe behind the wheel. First 3 months no weight gain then gained 10 lbs in 3 months! And I’m still gaining weight even though my diet has not changed. The weight gain is odd because Buproprion typically causes significant weight loss for me (been on it three different times). I noticed that most of those reporting weight gain on this medication are women likely in the perimenopausal to postmenopausal transition. Something physicians SHOULD be asking about but seldom do. So if you have a uterus and ovaries when you begin this medication and have noticed symptoms of perimenopause please tell your prescriber if you experience significant weight gain on this medication and encourage them to tell the drug rep. The company (and better yet the FDA) needs to be sent data so weight gain is reported as a side effect for a specific population. Read More Read Less

I am only on day 4 of the medication but decided to share my experience. I've been on pretty much all the SSRIs, some of which kind of worked but unfortunately came with insomnia effects. My initial feeling about this med were more or less positive. I felt a little "lighter" I guess.then I kind of just felt a little high, as if I'd microdosed mushrooms or something. but things took a turn on the 3rd day. I took the first pill in the morning, went for a jog, seemed fine. took the second pill a few hours later, as prescribed, and about an hour later I began to feel weird... Basically I just felt high and anxious, as if I'd smoked a little pot and taken Adderall. but worse. just generally debilitating. sluggish. brain fog. at some point I forced myself to get out and, as someone else said here, I could barely respond to people. my doctor suggested going back to 1 pill... but I feel pretty freaked out to continue this, especially in light of reading someone else's similar reaction here for whom things did not improve. just feels way too intense. seems like doctors are now just trying to find legal ways to get treatment resistant patients high. seems like it works for some, for me it seems far too intense. I have a long history of MDD, anxiety and suicide attempts. This medication has been a game changer for me. I have been on it for six months. It works well with very few side effects. No medication is perfect, but after 30 years of dealing with severe mental health issues I have finally found a medication that works for me.

I am a patient and a pharmacist. I questioned my therapist about the the black box warning and hesitated to start this medication. I failed on Rexalti and never had suicidal thoughts before. I needed to try a new medication. After 3 months of use with Auvelity I found myself in bipolar state of mind with rapid changes in mood from manic to depressed states coming as quickly as 3 times a day. I experienced hallucinations, delusions, extreme tinnitus, insomnia which led me to a suicide attempt. My fiancé found me and quickly saved my life. My therapist quickly stopped the Auvelity and started new meds under strict monitoring. Read More Read Less

I've been on this for more than 6 weeks. The first 2-3 weeks I felt very little and certainly none of the great results so many were writing about. I started it as I was finishing the last of 6 ketamine infusions, which did nothing for me, other than cost a lot of money. Now, 6 weeks in, the medication has improved my mood. Nothing major, but I'll take it. It has definitely helped. And I have had no side effects other than some nausea and dry mouth.
