I have had headaches since I was a little girl, and taking this medication as prescribed has been very beneficial for me. Other drugs have brought on intense headaches from its use, but this medicine has been the only medication that relieves the pain. It is also important to know that I am constantly monitoring my intake of this medicine so that I will not become dependent. I also switch off between over the counter medicine for headaches when the pain is not as severe. I only like to take this medication when it is absolutely necessary, which many times is less than once a day or not at all.Read More Read Less

I have Gastric Migraines and Butalbital has proven quite effective in treating the intractable nausea I have been experiencing for 8+ weeks. I am concerned about the potential for addiction, however, at this point sympton relief is imperative.

I took Butalbital for several years for my migraine headaches (which I've had since the age of 6), but had to stop using it in college when it began to interfere with my birth control, causing breakthrough bleeding and spotting. I'm still trying to find another migraine med that works as well for me.

This seems to be the best treatment for me when I get a "student" migrane of tension headache.
