I really liked this medicene when I was first put on it. But now Im dealing with severe bone deteration and my teeth are literally breaking off. It controls asthma very well but the side effects are not worth it. If you must take this have your Dr. put you on one of the osteoperosis drugs to keep your bones strong(if you have heart problems then at least take extra calcium) I was not told any of t...

I was using my albuterol inhaler 3-4 times a day, my doctor told me that wasn't normal. I've been using this for two months now and I haven't used my other inhaler since. Very pricy however, but I feel great.

It seems to make my condition worse. I am not sure I have COPD or Asthma. I have no problems breathing. I have to breath through my mouth. My nose is stopped up and I have a sore throat.

I used my rescue inhaler way too much prior to using Advair. For the first time in years I feel like I am managing my asthma in a healthy way. This drug is a lifesaver.

Before taking this drug, my asthma was out of control. I used a rescue inhaler every four hours. Now I never use my rescue inhaler. It should be pointed out that I have "allergic" asthma.

The disks were initially really good at treatment but now I have been having more of the side effects of headaches and sore throat. The sore throat is REALLY a big issue and I commonly have a sore throat ecspecially by the end of the day or if I have been talking for a while.

Since it is a steroid it takes several days to really work. It also helps to use a rescue inhaler prior to using the disc.

The drug works excellently but like any Asthma meds you need to follow instructions and remember your schedule. The side-effects like dry-mouth or bad after-taste are common and you need to get used to washing your mouth out straight after using the inhaler. I also find it does give me some acid reflux after use but any wheezing is gone and I am able to perform real cardio excercise so there are some good trade offs. Basically if your Doctor recommends this drug you will probably reap a lot of benefit for it.Read More Read Less

65 yr old male. Adult onset asthma at around 50. After struggling for over 10 years doctors put me on Advair 100/50 trying to get me suitable for hernia surgery three years ago. Been on it since and like some others I find that I can get by with one dose every 24 hours. At 65 one is never sure about side effects. :)

It controls asthma very well but the side effects are not worth it. If you must take this have your Dr. put you on one of the osteoperosis drugs to keep your bones strong(if you have heart problems then at least take extra calcium) I was not told any of this until it was too late and then the damage was done. If your teeth are sensitive even if you brush immediatly after taking advair it will still effect your teeth. Be very careful with this medicene. Read More Read Less

Thank God for Advair. I have no symptoms of asthma now, and have even had fewer respiratory infections. The only problem I've ever had that I know of was side effect of oral thrush-even with mouth rinsing. My vision is also getting worse, but not sure if this is due to med. However, anything is worth being able to breathe easily.

Despite my satisfaction rating, this drug does work well. I took 250 mcg. twice a day. It did help stop the bronchio spasms I was having frequently that triggers my attacks, but I had a rather uncomfortable side effect. My entire body felt like it was covered in bruises, way beyond the normal muscle aches. It felt like the kind of bruising you get when you run into the corner of something, but all over! Just putting on my clothes, laying down or being touched was agony. Prior to this medication I was on Medrol, which didn't help much and Prednisone which is just a viscious drug to take. I wish I didn't have this side effect because otherwise, this is a very easy medication to take that otherwise made my life much more livable.Read More Read Less

Spyriva works much better once a day and doesn't give all the side effects and problems advair does.

This medication aids in relieving the pressure off my chest. Without it there seems to be a growing hardness inside my chest.
