I believe persons should take this drug as a first line of defense before opting for bypass surgery. If I knew what I know now, I would never have had a Five-Bypass Surgery (CABG). Most doctors wouldn't believe what I have done to keep myself alive. Except one; my present cardiologist. 62 planning to be 80

I have CAD with a MI in 1992 and now angina has been a regular occurance. Started Imdur about 2 weeks ago and the relief is dramatic. However, the headaches are bad but lightening up as the days go by.

After taking for several days I developed welts on face and neck, skin itching arms and legs and chest, labored breathing trouble swallowing and swelling in throat, pounding heart at times and dizzy cant focus eyes. I am alergic to peanuts and now I guess to this med. Waiting to hear from heart doctor as what I should do.

Prescribed this for HBP (140/80). Worst side effects I've ever experienced. Horrible headache, side ache all on left side of stomach. Feels as bad or worse than a Migraine. Will quit this medicine and also the doctor who prescribed it. If it's this bad getting on it, imagine trying to get off?

For me this is NOT the right medicine. Less than one hour the headache began and lasted until the next morning.Several aspirin did nothing but dull it for a short time. Will NOT take any more (30mg)pills of this medecine!

Seems to be a miracle drug. As of today, I have taken four doses before bed at night and the chest pain I was having from 5:30am-8:30am daily is gone. I have only had to take nitro once during my early morning run since being on this med. Prior to it, I had to take nitro 3-4 times every morning.

This medication has been a life saver for me. I had preasure and pain in my chest with exercise and Imdur took care of it. The first heart doctor told me that the only releif I could fine would be with a stent never even mentioning the drug imdur. My second doctor gave me a choice. Not only did imdur help me with my chest pain it also helped me with the circulation in my feet and my hands. I always had cold hands and cold blue feet. Now both these things are gone. I can not say enough about this medication and wonder why more doctors do not offer this to there patients as a first treatment before going the stent route whic is still on the iffy list. from about an hour after taking Imdur in the moring until the evening I am rarely bothered by any angina pain unless I do something really strenuous. However, I find that by the evening, it is losing its effectiveness and I often need to use a nitrate spray to bost the effect. Overal I am very satisfied with Imdur and have had no significant side effects after more than 4 years of continuous use. I am also taking a very small amount of beta blocker and aspirin.

2 days by mouth when home from the Hospital, experiencing BRUTAL headaches! NEVER AGAIN! called Cardiologist, and "just discontinue until next office visit." So much for it's importance. NO hx of chest pains, angina, etc. only pain after being dehydrated and bathroom trips for 4 days. Hate all this med then sent me home with. 52 and not other issues...
