Have been on this for about 6 months as a supplement to Benicar 40/20. Fatigue was initial problem, go to bathroom about 3-4 times at night. be sure to eat soem food before taking to avoid stomach upset or diarhea -- makes a big difference; and take it in morning, not at night. Not seeing much improvement of BP which only seems to improve when I am very careful about diet and exercise which I am back doing regularly. Are other men experiencing ED with this med? ED med alwasy worked fine until started taking this medicine. Like to hear from other older men about their experience.Read More Read Less

This medication has affected a vital organ negatively. I have never retained fluids, so it has caused more problems than should be necessary. I was on a higher dose and should have been monitored better. Now I know as the patient.

Have been taking this med for several years now and I have not made a significant improvement in my high blood pressure (hbp) condition. Having said that, I must quickly add that it does appear to be controlling my hbp in that it has not increased to a more dangerous level.

I have taken Diovan (160 mg) for years, but lately, my BP continued to be high. I switched a week ago to this new medication and my BP has dropped within the normal range and I feel great.

I've been taking triamterene-hydrochlorothiazid for over 15 yrs and I am still kickin. It helps keep fluid off and balances out BP. As speaking for myself, I can't drink too much water.

I am Male, healthy, active, age 74. Started triamterene two weeks ago to treat abnormal fluid pressure in right inner ear that resulted in partial hearing loss in right ear. I have experienced slight (infrequent) dizziness, occasional mild cramps and increased dryness of eyes at wake up. First I attributed all to "getting old" then decided to re-read the "fine print" as I have experienced all of these mild symptoms before, but not together and reoccurring, and not so frequently. I still feel well, and can continue to function normally. I have followup appointment in two days and will discuss symptoms with ENT doctor.Read More Read Less

The swelling in my feet and legs has completely gone away, since I began taking this medication a week ago. So far, I haven't experienced any side effects. Finally, I feel normal again.
