A lot of people come on here to write negative reviews since people who are happy don't generally flock to review sites, but I just HAD to write. After painful sex and a lot of bad side effects on Yaz, I switched pills around about 5 times before finding Ortho-TriCyclen. Then I got the news that I had developed liver tumors as a result of taking birth control that contains estrogen (I had no idea ...

I started taking this when my son was 7 weeks old. He is now two ad I have been done breastfeeding for almost 5 months. I opted to keep taking this for my BC method as it has been great for me. My only "side effect" has been fatigue, but then, I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old, a husband and a full time job, so it may not be the pill's fault. I am trying to decide if I want to switch to the NuvaRing this month for a two month trial. I am scared of side effects from a combined method and also, the increase in hormones. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, you know? That's how I feel about this pill, however, not having to take a pill each day would be a noce change. In short-I have had no wieght gain, in fact, I am underweight and 10 pounds below my pre pregnancy wieght no matter what I eat, and no excercise (no time!), no acne, no bloating, no hair loss. I do have mood swings, but again, I do not get enough sleep and have the usual stresses of a working mom/wife. I also agree with the poster who mentioned that when breastfeeding, no you will not get a period most of the time, also, post partum hair loss is common, and not a pill side effect. I did spot an awful lot in the beginning of taking this pill. It evened out and I am now very regular with no spotting between cycles. Don't judge your body's reaction to this pill on the first 1-6 months of use, ESPECIALLY if you have just delivered a baby! Most changes with your body are a result of the pregnancy and birth!Read More Read Less

I started taking this pill 6 weeks postpartum because my doc told me it was the best pill to take while breastfeeding. At 4 months postpartum I haven't had a period yet. I've never used any type of oral contraceptive before so no period may be "normal" for my situation. I have also noticed ALOT of thick discharge, occational headaches, and dizziness. These could all be signs of pregnancy but I've taken a test and the results were negative. I actually miss having a period because if my cycle was normal I wouldn't have to worry about being pregnant every other day! Also, I'm not a HUGE fan of setting an alarm to take a pill at 26 years old!Read More Read Less

After experiencing terrible side effects from other pills, my doctor put me on ortho-micronor. I have now been taking it for 3 years. I have never experienced any negative side effects from it. I have not gotten a period in over 2 1/2 years, and I don't miss it at all! My GYN assures me everything is normal and healthy with my body. I do not use another form of birth control and have not gotten pregnant.

I have had spotting once a month for the six months that I have been taking it orally. I have had two periods with noteworthy cramping. The first time that I experienced SEVERE cramping was April 28th and the second May 28th. My symptoms were: Stabbing uterine cramps through the vaginal opening along with difficulty breathing/speaking which lasted almost 30 min. and the second May 28th lasted approx. 20 min. Thank goodness my boyfriend got a heat pad for me both times as I was unable to move while writhing in pain.Read More Read Less

I was given Ortho Micronor after having my child. My OBGYN said that it was "safe" to use wile nursing. Well 3 and a half years later I am still trying to find balance in my hormones. I experienced every negative side effect this drug has to offer: rapid weight gain, swelling, head aches, dizzy spells, tiredness, mood swings, and cramping. However, non of this took place until after I had been on the medicine for over a year. Once I stopped nursing, the pill messed up my hormone balance. Read More Read Less

I switched to this birth control because i was on the patch and had horrible side effects. I don't have any side effects. My periods aren't regular but i still have them, but i am not as moody as i was on the patch i don't get the migraines i did with the patch. The only major issue I've found is that it is very hard to take it on time everyday, but so far i am not pregnant. But not every birth control is right for everyone.

I was on another type of birth control but it was giving me problems, so my doctor put me on this one. I have been on it for 5 months now. I took it every day at the same time, never once missed a pill or took it late. I did not get my period, which I knew was possible, soI took a home pregnancy test as a normal reaction, turns out I was pregnant. Three days later I miscarried.

I have emdometroisis and have been on many forms of birth control. My doctor put me on this because I also get bad headaches and she thought this type of pill would be better. I HATE THIS PILL. 2 weeks into it i have break through bleeding that lasted four days and had cramps like a period. 2 weeks after that my real period came and it was heavy and I still have horrible cramps. I have gained at least 5 pounds and it has only been one month. My doctor says this is normal and I will give these pill one more mounth because I could not get a appointment in time to change before the pack was over. So maybe it will get better because this pill sucks and I can't wait to go back to my old pills. i got headaches but at least I was not getting 2 periods at once and my cramps were not this bad and my periods were not this heavey. So to all the lady's this pill has worked for God bless you because it just does not work for me.Read More Read Less

I took this birthcontrol because I was breastfeeding my son. I have never had any of the side effects that are listed. I have been breastfeeding for 13 months now and I have even forgotten to take a pill or 2 and I am not pregnant yet. Because I was breastfeeding and taking the pill I did not get my period for 12 months. I recently started it again because my son is not nursing as much. I am very happy with my experience and will use it after I have another child! By the way, a reviewer on here said she was breastfeeding and taking the pill and didnt get her period which is because of the pill. That is a normal result for breastfeeding/pill combo. Also she lost hair. Within the first 5 months postpardom you will loose hair like crazy. Look it up on the internet because this too is normal also!! Hope this helps any people thinking of taking this pill. I know many people who have successfully taken this BC. Read More Read Less

I am so relieved to be rid of my endometriosis symptoms. I do not have periods, heavy bleeding or debilitating cramps anymore. I feel a more even hormonal mood and seem to have less incontinence while taking this pill. It seems to be a great match for my symptoms.

I have taken this pill in the past when I breastfeed my other two children. Now with my infant son taking this and breastfeeding I have alot of the side affects. Lose of hair, headaches sometimes so severe I feel sick, abdominal pain/cramping, no period, moody. I cannot say do not take this you will never know until you try it. I will say this though be cautious when taking this pill. If I had more choices for breastfeeding and taking the pill I would not use this one again.

I haven't had any side effects. Took combined pills and gained 8lbs, plus so many other side effects. Have had any problems with Micronor. Feel a lot better since taking it.

My doctor put me on this pill just after having a baby. The Dr. told me that I could not get pregnant on Ortho Micronor and breastfeeding at the same time. Now my baby is six months old and now I am pregnant again. I have been taking the pill and I did not miss any pills. So no this birth control did not work for me.

went two months without period, had all the symptoms of being pregnant, finally started period and it was severe. Severe cramping, extremely heavy bleeding, soaking pads and tampons, together. Doctor never told me of these side effects before I started taking this pill. Had to research and find out that the symptoms of pregnancy were side effects of this pill. Would not recommend this pill to anyone.
