My mom had bronchitis and she was prescribed this medication. The medication has worked well on her symptoms. However, we have noticed increased confusion and some hallucinations while taking this medication. Not sure if it should be taken with other maintenance medications that she is currently using. Her doctors says the combination is fine. She is on a 10 day regime and thankfully this is her last day. I would like to add that she is 70 so I am not sure if this makes the difference, as well.

I was given this medication by my OB after I noticed a large, red, pussy bump on my left arm. Doc thought it is a bite or staph so went ahead and prescribed this antibiotic. After reading the precautions I am not taking it since I'm due in 7 days. Wondering why my doctor prescribed this when there are other much safer antibiotics for pregnant women.

Within an hour of my first dose I have severe stomach pain and cramping. Wish I would have read these reviews first. Do not take this medication.

This medicine was prescibed to my Dad (age 81) for skin infection. 1 tablet 2x day; He became nauseaous,diarrhea,confusion,extreme fatigue,loss of appetite,dry heaves. I took him off the medication before completing the dosage. I would not recommend this at all. I wish I had checked this site first!!

I had to give this to my 3 month old son to prevent a MSRA Staph infection from coming back. He's contracted the infection during a surgery he recieved at a hospital. It gave him severe diarrhea whiched cause a bad rash, and he would always vomit his medicine up along with his fomula. This medicine causes more harm that good.

I had typical UTI symptoms with blood in my urine but no kidney pain so my doctor only prescribed a 3 day course of the medicine. After the first pill, the pain in between urinations stopped almost immediately and the frequent need to urinate also decreased. I did feel a little lightheaded after the first pill, but it only lasted for about 20 minutes and didn't occur again. Blood stopped appearing in my urine after the second pill and the pain after urination almost stopped completely. All UTI symptoms were gone after the third pill. I am on this drug for a UTI of unknown etiology. On the first day I developed a really bad headache. I am on the second dose of day 3. It still hurts when I pee. I feel queasy to really nauseas and have loose stools. My stomach hurts a bit after taking the pill with meals. I feel jittery as if I drank a really strong cup of coffee, and incredibly exhausted by 4 pm. I have asthma, diabetes,coronary artery disease, and am prone to kidney stones. My sugars spiked with the onset of the UTI by almost 200 points and came back down within 48 hours of starting the drug. My asthma is ok and no problems with my kidneys or heart at this time. I've taken sulfa drugs in the past with minor side affects and hope it will remain that way. Read More Read Less

I was given this medicine for treatment of a boil on my upper left buttock that was very inflamed and very painful. After the first day the boil started to drain and the swelling has gone down significantly. It's my second day onthe meds and I feel 90% better.

I went to the doctor for having sharp pains in the abdomen area was given this med in case it was a urinary tract infection . This medication did cause me to have nausea / upset stomach . I did drink alot of milk with this antibiotic

Due to over use of antibiotics. I know the drug that my doctor prescribed me is pretty much mid range. The first dose was alittle rough with a headache. Second dose much less. Third dose not there. Seems to be working fine. And may I note that after reading most of the reviews. I have concluded that communication with your doctor is the key to being prescribed the right drug. If you don't say something, they will treat you like the general public. Get well. Bye.

Three days into taking this medication, I developed an allergy. I ended up with severe hives (which I am still fighting one week later). I had to go to emergency room for treatment and then follow up with a doctor. I will not take this medication again.

I felt good only when I took the urinary med that was prescribed for inflammation that turns your urine orange/red. Once I finished taking that one, continued on this one and feel wiped out, stomach hurts, no appetite, and feelings of nausea. I felt better with my original symptoms than I did when I began this med! Never again!

This med has worked for me. it was easy to use. i would use again.

Started taking this medication for a UTI. After several hours of taking the 1st 800mg pill, I experienced body aches, headache, feeling lightheaded, nausa, and extreme bloodshot eyes. I'm into the second day of the meds and the symptoms are the same. However, it is working well for my UTI. after 2 pills my UTI pain stopped. So, I'm sticking with the doctor's instructions. Drinking tons of water and eating every few hrs has helped with the lightheadedness.

My only complaint is the tablets are so large.

THis medication after just taking one pill caused severe stomach cramps. Will not use this again.
