I'm glad I'm not the only one-no sleep for 2 days, started to lose my voice. Had a toxic reaction to Compazine and this reaction is very similar - causes MAJOR panic, anxiety, confusion. I will be asking my doc for something else today. I have a cyst that's acting up, and being that tense, it's not worth it!

I was prescribed this medication for a UTI. I took my first pill this morning at work after eating breakfast. Two hours later, I had sweats, dizziness, confusion, extreme nausea, I took my 2nd pill an hour ago with a large meal to see if that was the problem. If it happens again I'm not taking anymore, I'll call the doctor and have her prescribe me something else.

this is about as helpful as my x wife..all i wanted to know is what this drug is for..i found it in my drawer....how would i know if it worked for me if you don't lay it out what it's for??????? thanks for wasting my time----just what i needed......i could have just gone to the dmv!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not let your Doctor write you a RX for this medicine. After taking it for 24 hours, my fever has worsened and now I have a pounding headache to go along with it. Worst medicine ever.

got it for acne. 100% clear skin within 2 months. also, fantastic appetite suppressant. DRINK A LOT OF WATER.

Within the first two days became excesssivly tired, cranky and had pain in my kidneys..got constipated...could not sleep as well as without it...horrible feeling

I was prescribed this medication at the ER for a kidney infection. It's generic for bactrum which I have taken before. I only had to take it twice a day for 7 days, but it didn't last that long. Everyday i noticed my throat felt swollen. It didn't hurt or anything, it was just swelling up. Finally, 5 days into taking the antibiotic I realized the swelling seemed to coincide with when I took the antibiotic. I don't know why it didn't click sooner. Apparently, after reading those papers that comes with prescriptions that no one reads, swelling of the throat is a side effect if you're allergic. Now don't get me wrong.. That doesn't mean the medication didn't work. It did help with my kidney infection. I guess I'm just allergic. I just wanna let those who may not know that be aware. The paper says to get medical care immediately. I didn't only because i had experienced the swelling 10 times by now and knew I would be ok, and if not my mom is a nurse. But if you are experiencing this swelling of the throat, don't take it lightly.. I thank my heavenly father that it wasn't severe for me, and since I did take a dose at night before bed, I could have had my throat close completely during the night while I was sleeping. It could have been fetal.. Please read those papers that comes with prescriptions people. I know the are long, but it's well worth looking over side effects to look for if it's worth your life. I'm guilty of just tossing them into the garbage myself. But i've learned my lesson. Believe you me.. But if it wasn't for the allergy, this medication worked a miracle for me for my kidney infection. It really did. I was also prescribed Vicodin for pain, but the antibiotic seemed to help more whenever it came time around for another dose. Maybe it's just the generic brand that did this to me though, cause i've taken Bactrum before and don't remember any problems. So if you do experience the swelling try to name brand. I was given this medicine for bronchitis, upon taking this stuff I got a nauseous feeling, a bit lightheaded and sluggish kind of like a hangover (as I remember them anyway). I dont intend to keep taking this stuff.

if u drink alot of water the side effects never happen and ppl who do have side effects probably have nothing wrong with them or its the water intake. i really dont see any improvement after the last 4 days of taking 2 doses a day. i already had dry skin and live in az so it did bother me alot with that and the itching is the only really bad symptom that bothers me in the sun or inside with heat. i pray im not immune to it so it can go away and will comment in 2 weeks when i hopefully got rid of this disease of staph. I have been taking this medication for four days for a skin issue. This medication is working good for me, but I have some nasty side effects:Dizzyness, sick to my stomach, just very tired.

Treated the UTI, however the side effects are rediculous! Severe head ache, neck ache, fatigue, chest pain - occassionally severe, trouble sleeping, bleeding - mens.flow 2 weeks early!, stopped the meds! I would rather have a UTI forever than the symptoms listed on the site!

This medication caused me to have seizures

This medication literally made me feel as if I was dying, from body aches to headaches, fevers, nausea, drains your life energy from you...I'll never take this again.

Was diagnosed with diverticulitis and within taking 2 doses of this medicine i'm starting to feel better already. no side affects yet.

within two hours of first dose I became lightheaded. Second dose in evening had nightmares. I never have those. Day 2 10 a.m. dose. Within two hours, dizzy, nausea, sweating, lightheaded, exhausted but can't sleep, extreme anxiety and nervousness pounding heart, vision hard to focus, eyes feel very heavy,ringing ears, feel feverish with no fever. Called MD said to stay on med, did not feel it was med! I did not take it again. Day 3 felt better after off med 24 hours. Per pharmacist should be out of system after 24 hrs..Not so. Next day, day 4, still very tired, having trouble sleeping. praying this med gets out of my system soon still have focus issue, still feel sweaty and hot but no fever, stuffy nose, ears still ringing, still heavy eyes and exhausted, light headed. WILL NEVER take this drug again. Have used SMZ/TMP before and never had a reaction. The combination of these two abts is clearly not a good mix for some. I really appreciate the other reviews on this medication. I also wonder how long it takes for this med to finally get out of the system. This drug made me able to breathe within a mater of an hour! I had no side effects that I know of and I'm currently still taking it.
