I have had RLS for over 40 years, and for the past 5 years have been taking Mirapex. It is without a doubt a MIRACLE drug! Over the years, I have had it adjusted up, and am now completely stable. I had tried everything. By the time I found Mirapex, my RLS had spread from my lower, to my upper legs and into my arms. I suffered terribly and could be found anytime, day or night sitting up, rocking b...

This has been recently trialed for anxiety/panic disorder treatment with mixed results, but when you're running out of treatment options, you try what you can. This is one of the worst drugs I've ever taken. Severe insomnia, compulsory behavior, hormonal problems, agitation, and constant nausea are just a handful of side effects.

I am 66 years old and was diagnosis with restless legs when I was 23. I have many family members with restless legs my mine is the most severe. I have been on medication for about 25 years. Of all the meds Mirapex works the best for me. Restless legs has ruled my life for 43 years. I have been on about all the different meds used to control this condition and Mirapex for me has worked the best. I am now on .75mg one at 3pm and one and hour before bed. Right now that is working and I am able to sleep. I have a number of aliments including lupus, neuropathy, ulcerative colitis, and the list goes on but restless legs without the proper medication I would loss my mind. Mirapex for me has been the one medication I have always been able to depend upon. When I am without it for whatever reason I am in agony. Restless legs sounds like a joke and not a real problem until you have it.Read More Read Less

No matter how low a dosage I took, I have fallen asleep while driving. The most recent time I was crossing an intersection on my way to return a rental car snd pick up my car from my last episode of falling asleep, one minute you are awake and without warning you fall asleep. Luckily one else was in the car with me. I no longer drive. This drug has taken my indepedence away. I have tried weaning myself off of it , only to find out I have RLS so back on it I went. There has to be something out there that does'nt have this lousy side effect. Obviously my doctor does'nt value my life!Read More Read Less

after only 7 pills, nausea and then I went on 3, crying, almost hysterical episodes in a 4 hr period at work. stopping it immediately. also it had not helped yet at all with my problem.I'd probably been in an institution before I stayed on it long enough to see if it was going to work.

After I was diagnosed with severe RLS, the doctor was confident that this could help. The first night, I had extreme flushing - felt like one long hot flash; dizziness, nausea, and increased pain. The nausea and dizziness was so bad, I had to go to the ER. The doctor there told me to stop immediately. I have always been extra sensitive to medications, so if you are, take extra care on taking this.

Terrible drug. Worked well to relieve restless legs, but quickly induced deep drowsiness and confusion. Very scary. I stopped taking the drug and do not recommend it at all for anyone living alone.

I spent a year going to various MDs before I was dx with Parkinson's disease and put on Mirapex 9 months ago. So far it is working very well. What a difference in energy and movement. Hope it continues.

I have severe RLS 24/7. It is horrible and not getting better. I have been on Mirapex for 4 yrs. and am at a dosage of 4.25 each day. It helps my RLS and I couldn't function w/o it, but the side effects are deplorable. Hair falling out, Skin growths all over my body, loss of memory, inability to concentrate,[ I can't even read a book] , nodding off anytime any where, for seconds that goes immediately into a nightmare type dream. Insomnia, tired, lack of energy, depression and heart in A-fib. I hate all of these side effects, yet can't go w/o the med due to the severe RLS. Doesn't anyone have any answers that can help me with this terrible situation? Read More Read Less

I've been taking this for 5 months. Initially there was some nauseau but that wore off after the first couple of weeks. Currently I'm taking 1mg 3x a day along with Sinemet 3x a day. Tremors and stiffness are minimal if at all (unless I get upset; then nothing works).

I did not know what i had (RLS) until i mentioned my severe symptoms to my neurologist during my "migraine" appt., but it (RLS) was so bad I couldnt sleep without hot pads on both legs and ice packs on my back after intensive leg exercises, often several times a night. I was becoming desperate. He prescribed .25 mg Mirapex, which worked the first night. I felt my life had been saved. After a few years i'm up to .75 mg to 100 mg, daily, taken about an hour before i go to bed, but it is still working. I would give up food before I would give up my Mirapex. No side effects I am aware of. Truly a miracle drug for me. Read More Read Less
