Have taken this for years, literally, since no insurance (come on Medicare) for the "magical purple pill"- it works very well and I start to suffer symptoms by second day of I don't get to the store for more- so it definitely relives symptoms. What amazes me is that it is the main ingredient in the expensive OTC (Prilosec, Zantac etc) and you can buy 200 tablets 150 mg at Walmart for about $7.00. ...

My doctor gave me this to try to help with the heartburn I had developed from apparent GERD, while it did help my heartburn at night while I slept, I noticed it caused me to have more heartburn overall and more frequently, if I missed a dose I would get severe heartburn. Until now I only had heartburn while laying down, now I have heartburn all the time. I wanted to have less heartburn, not take...

This pill does nothing for my reflux. I may as well not be taking anything. As far as I'm concerned, through it away!

I have been taking this medication (600 miligrams a day) for years, it is awesome, and as long as I take morning and night, I have absolutely no reflux. I have had no adverse affects whatsoever.

Diagnosed with hiatal hernia, esophagitis and chronic indigestion. Went from 150mg 3X/day to 300 2X/day. This has been the ONLY drug to give me relief, takes the pain away in a few minutes. Only down sides are, if I don't take it on time the pain is enough to bring me to tears, but easily solved be getting to my meds (learned relly fast to take some with me) and I'm afraid I may be on it for the rest of my life, but a very small price to pay to finally be pain-free.

I found this medication to be pretty good. It works for the most part and on most days. I have to take 300mg/day due to the seriousness of my heartburn. The only reason I'm not completely satisfied is b/c my usual medication is Omeprazole (generic Prilosec) in which I found total relief and is something I would like to start taking again, insurance permitting. This is still a good medication for most ppl though (in my opinion).

Works very well. No side effects. Have had acid reflux for 40 years.Since I was in Vietnam. I think people with some of their silly side affects have underlying problems.
