my 14 month old daughter gets an ear infection everytime she gets a cold, this is usually the medicine the doctor gives her, she hates it, i have to fight to get her to take it, she cant hold her food in, she has awful dierea and diaper rash... not sure if it is helping her infection this time...sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't...we'll see

my child was taking this drug for a long time what is the long term affect of this drug

I was given this medication for strep throat and while it worked great for the symptoms of strep, I found that I hit pretty much every side effect it promised. Diarrhea, nausea, and I was generally exhausted and miserable the entire time. The pills were also way too big and I had to split all of them. I'm pleased that my strep infection has gone but not the way my gastro-intenstinal tract responded. Frankly, my best luck was taking it WITHOUT food.

My 2 1/2 year old son hated the taste, and it caused severe diarrhea. It also caused severe diaper rash. I was already giving him yogurt before I started the drug to help prevent any stomach upset, but it did not help at all. My son also had alot of gas while he was on this medicine.

Had cat incisor bite on hand. Hand and fingers very swollen (also forearm). Augmentin graudually reduced the swelling. I took 875 mg tablets twice daily and have one more day to go. I still have some swelling at bite site that I hope will go away soon.

I would like to know if this medicine causes diaherra? If so, what can I take to settle this down? I take yogurt with the medicine. Thank you.

I was given this for strep throat. It worked immediately but by day 3 I had diarrhea that has continued. While it worked wonderfully I don't think I would ever want to take it again. I am losing a lot of weight.

It left me feeling a bit sick and weak with no appetite.

While this cleared up my sinus infection, as I neared the end of the prescription, I started experiencing skin pain in and around my lower abdomen, lower back and hips. This pain was similar to the sensitivity of your skin when you have a fever. I was able to treat it with over the counter pain reliever (ibuprofen). I am hoping this will subside over the next few days. If not its back to the doctor.

Given this drug for upper res. and start of sinus infections. After three days my infections have cleared significantly, however i CAN NOT take this drug any more. I am sick to my stomach, weak, woosey, and totally nauseated all day long. Today is day 5 and I have not taken this drug today. I am stopping and calling Dr. in the morning.

Initially had severe stomach cramps and nausea. By day 2, I broke out in a very minor case of hives. Next 3 doses were ok - just nausea. After the 7th dose, broke out in hives all over lower half of my body. Doc told me to stop and gave me another antibiotic.

I had cat scratch fever from a kitten bite. My had was SWOLLEN and infected. I'm on day 7 of treatment and am almost completely cured. Still a bit of swelling in my hand but that is to be expected. I had a bit of diarrhea in the first couple days but that went away. No major problems for me.

I was prescribed this medication to deal with my acute headaches that my allergist decided was due to a sinus infection. While the medication itself did the job within half the prescribed time, watch out for the severe reactions this can cause in many people. With me, the intestinal flora were pretty much destroyed and I was stricken with acute abdominal pain for over a week. Doctors not being able to adequately and thoroughly treat the pain was another problem. Thankfully, my gastro-intestinal specialist was intelligent enough to suggest that in addition to the regular lacto-bacillus that I was using, I should add another probiotic that contains Bifido bacteria (you can get this at your local Whole Foods). Today is day 5 of treatment for a sinus infection. I have had no bad side effects from this med. I think it is a great drug!!!

i was given this med for strep throat. after 4 days i had severe cramping in my stomach & back for 3 days. stopped using this med after day 5.

The first day was ok. After that I experienced severe stomach cramps with diarrhea. Stopped the medication.

My two year old daughter was prescribed this medicine for a recurring ear infection. It caused a severe diaper rash and diarrhea.

I was prescribed this medication for strep throat and it seems it's not meant to even treat it. A week into it, I couldn't hold any food down. Everything came up and out in very liquid form. Can't keep anything in or down. To the point where immodium AD is not even effective in treating it.
