My 10 month old was prescribed this med for an ear infection after a horrible reaction to Omnicef (cefdnir). She has had zero reactions, complications, or side effects from this drug. Because it is taken twice a day the chance for upset stomach is unlikely.

My son is 4 and has a history of ear infections and pneumonia. After being on amoxicillin multiple times, he finally had an allergic reaction (red ring of hives around neck) after being on a strong dose for pneumonia for 7 days. After that he tolerated omnicef pretty well and has been on it several times. This week he came down with an ear infection, and the urgent care dr. prescribed cefaprozil. ...

Second antibiotic I've used. Both bad side effects. Side effects of use of Cefprozil medication included diahhrea, vastly increased menstrual bleeding-much longer periods, and increased bleeding on cuts, easy bruising. Feel wiped out. Seems like I've diminished ability for my blood to clot effectively. Stopped taking this after three days.

My seven year was prescribed this medicine for 10 days for strep throat. After the 8th day, her symptoms started to re-appear, (low grade fever, sore throat, itchy ears), and I had to contact her pediatrician for a different treatment. I am not at all satisfied that she has to endure another "10" days of treatment for something that could of been taken care of the first time :(
