if its not taken with plenty of food, it made me nausious and nearly vomit but it did do the job.

My Daughter was given this medication for a staph infection. It worked quickly and effectively. Please take even this review with a grain of salt. Most posts here are by people with negative results, not positive or even neutral. If you have a negative side effect on a med, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Don't read all these posts and assume! And for everyone's sake, either take all of your prescribed medication or get to your doctor for a replacement. I am willing to bet that 50% of us suffer because 90% don't finish thier meds to completely eliminate a bacteria. Read More Read Less

My daughter was on this from about 2 months old until she was 14 months old for a condition called Kidney Reflux. I made the Drs take her off of it when I noticed her having seizure-like symptoms (spacing out, staring at nothing for minutes at a time), and delayed development. Once she was switched, she stopped "spacing out," and started developing like normal. She has now caught up, but I will NEVER let her be on Bactrim again.

I had alot of problems when I started taking this medication. Like: fatigue, blood in urine, severe stomach pain, severe headaches, vomiting, weight loss, weakness in the extemeties,

This medication works quickly to get rid of bacteria and pain associated with a uti. However, it had me with chills and aches likes I was coming down with the flu. Plus, my eyes are red and I feel tired. I'm not super crazy about it but at least it clears the uti.

Taking this med for a UTI. I have had a horrible headache and stiff neck and back since starting the round. Working on the UTI, but will be glad to finish to stop the headache and not feel like a zombie.

Have had chronic uti for years. Flomax helped tremendously and gave me long term relief. Had recent uti flare up. Rare nowadays but happened any how. Dr gave doxy and cipro. Neither one worked. Finally gave up and had appointment with uro scheduled. In desperation tried bactrim. Almost instant relief. Think this uti responds to bactrim. Still going to see uro, but relief is unbelievable. Advise for uti, make sure Dr. takes culture and finds exactly what bug is eating our urinary systems inside out...know what I mean? If we insist on them taking a culture and finding what anti-bio..works, we can save ourselves a lot of pain and frustration. BTW, in the past sometimes cipro, or doxy worked not this time. Cipro upset my stomach and made me feel weird. As I said, I am chronic uti so when it worked that was worth the discomfort...for me anyway. However, when it did'nt...got the picture!! I feel like a zombie on it.

i have a rare skin conditionm called epdermolysis bllosa and it treated it very well

I was given this drug after having a boil lanced. By the first evening I was running a fever which went as high as 103 degrees and violently ill. After 4 days of this I ended up in the hospital for 4 days. No one ever figured out what was wrong with me.(the Dr nor the hospital) Last week the boil was coming back and since the Dr gave me a refill for it, I took it and within 2 hours I was again running a high fever and vomiting again, with a rash this time. It is getting me over my bladder infection, but it or something is giving me horrible leg cramps (charley horses) I woke up 3 times last night with them. Anybody else having this problem?

I have taken this medication on two occasions for staph infections. The first time it worked great with no side effects. The second time however i had an allergic reaction, i broke out in hives everywhere. be aware that allergic reactions can occur at any time with this medication, even after having taken if for a few days.

I had impetigo on the sides of my mouth and a staph infection at the base of my neck, both very nasty and painful. My dr. threw me on two (generic)Bactrim a day for 10 days and also prescribed Altabax ointment to rub on the lesions. Both worked wonders and the sored healed in a couple days!

My dr put me on it for a UTI that spread fast. The infection cleared up within a couple days but she put me on it for 2 weeks. the powdery pill was hard to take (it made me throw up a couple times) and I learned the pill dissolves fast. I'm a week in and as of two days ago my arms have broken out with tiny itchy red spots, one spot looks just like a bad bug bite only no bite :\ I dont know if I should continue to take it since it's making me a bit sick but the rash is almost unbearable. I've been putting hydrocortizone on them to relieve the itch but the relief is only lasting an hour or so. I spend a lot of time outdoors and it has been nothing less than 80 degrees and sunny since I started taking it, and Ive noticed if I stay out in the sun my tattoos and old scars from years ago start turning into welts that last for a few hours a time that itch. also been having slight issues with nausea (I have to eat RIGHT after I take the pill or Im nauseus for most of the day) and getting lightheaded. I was prescribed Bactrim as a precaution against skin infection due to a fall; my knee was badly scraped and my Derm. did not want to take chances. I will NEVER it again: nausea, headaches and worse, it messed up my menstrual cycle. I was fine before - always the proverbial "clockwork" and now, it's goofy. NEVER AGAIN!!

Within the first 5 hours of taking Bactrim I experienced swollen gums and sore throat. I continued taking the meds since I've took it before and it worked fast but have stopped after the third day. I now have small bumps is patches all over (looks like poison oak) that itches severly and blisters all in my mouth (hurts to eat or brush teeth). I wish i could take this med because it works, I felt 90% better after the first dose but it has serious side effects.

STAY AWAY. My doc put me on it for acne.. by day 6 I have itchy rash COVERING MY WHOLE BODY.

This medication has worked for my chronic bronchitis
