I loved, loved, loved this one little pill. I could not believe the mobility and relief it gave me. I started taking in 97. Two years ago my Rhuematologist warned me and mentioned he had taken all his patients off Voltaren and would no longer subscribe for me. He said it was deadly. I didnt buy into his scare tactics. I contined to take through my family doctor saying nothing. Last year I sta...

I have been taking diclofenac, 75mg twice a day for about 2 years for arthritis in my hip. My pre-op hip replacement lab tests have detected low hemoglobin, which I believe is connected to my use of this drug. The hospitalist is recommending postponing surgery until we fix the anemia. But, if I'm right and discontinue the diclofenac, the pain will be unbearable. Catch-22, huh?

Have arthritis from head to toes. Have chronic pain. Medication works really fast. But you really need to make sure you do not over use.

2 months after starting, I went into complete renal failure. 8 days of IVs in the hospital, renal function began to return to normal. Nephrologists feel this drug was the cause.

26 yrs old with degenerative disc disease in neck that curves FORWARD at a 39 degree angle instead of BACK, pelvic obliquity and side to side curvature of a ballet-made-arthritic spine with schmorls disease added into the mix--which causes many many herniations and bulging of discs causing excessive imflammation and intense nerve pain with CONSTANT MUSCLE SPASMS(I mean they never ever fully stop, not one second of ANY given day)!! ----->VOLTAREN taken orally works GREAT for taking the edge off the pain for me and not many things do but theres a HUGE catch here.... ----->>>VOLTAREN IS A KILLER<<<----- many doctors will not even prescribe it any more because of its murderous side affects on hepatic and renal function!!! My boyfriends father and my great aunt both passed away because of this "FDA APPROVED" medication and despite its effectiveness I will never touch another one of these pills to my lips!! *****INSTEAD OF TAKING THE ORALLY INGESTED FORM OF VOLTAREN, I USE THE TOPICAL VERSION OF THE SAME EXACT NAME "VOLTAREN GEL" {{its absolutely awesome on shutting down my aches and brings my nerve pain down to a dull dull ache}} ive been using it for years and with my list of pain persistent ailments, I think that's really saying a lot!!! Not only is this TOPICAL GEL effective, but it wont destroy your body from the inside out!!! organ failure is ALOT worse than any pain an NSAID is prescribed for and these words are spoken true, god bless the souls of my lost. so spare yourselves AND YOUR FAMILIES the anguish, throw your bottle out and switch!!! THIS IS SOOO REAL, NOT A JOKE!!! I WISH ALL OF YOU THE BEST LIFE WHICHEVER ROUTE YOU CHOSE TO TAKE WITH THIS MEDICATION!!! GOD BLESS!!Read More Read Less

I had awful pain in both feet and had gotten so it was almost unbearable to walk. My doctor started me out with on 75ml two times a day as needed. I felt relief within 3 days. I am now on 50ml two times daily as needed. Am happy to say it is under control, I rarely need to take the second one. I usually have problem with my stomach when I take an anti-inflammatory, but have had no problems it this medication. It is important to take it with food.

Voltaran worked great for a month but then I started having a weird itchy rash randomly and mostly on my legs. Looks like red spots with no pattern. I stopped it right away. Has anyone else gotten a rash from this drug?

I took this drug for 4 days before having anxiety attacks. At first I did not understand what was going on until I read side effects. It did nothing to releive me of pain in my shoulder. I also have COPD and it aggrevated my COPD problems - wheezing and shortness of breath.

I think it has helped my leg pain a little. I have been having a bitter taste and wondered if anyone has experienced this effect. Not sure what is causing it.

Given for referred left foot pain but also noticed a remarkable improvement in my overall arthritic issues. No problematic side effects at this point - taking a little over a week. Less irritating on my stomach than other meds.

I need to remember to take second dose.it works within a few hours and I know when it starts to wear off the pain comes back.I can now tolerate my exercise classes.I realize it was the inflammation causing the knee pain.I am able to raise myself with minimal amount of pushing up and able to walk greater distance.I had depended on Motrin for many years, but this is so much better.I feel I'm living again and on the road to recovery without the thought of knee surgery at this time.

Medication was effective however it made me irritable and angry. Talked with my Dr and she put me on a different medication. Thus, if you have this side effect there are other options. Good luck to you.

Voltaren worked well to control the pain of my symptoms. Unfortunately, it damaged my kidneys and caused me to go into acute renal failure. The prescribing doctor never did labwork after prescribing it. I can no longer take this drug and will spend the rest of my life on a renal diet. The damage was caught in time for me to avoid dialysis.

My knee's hurt so much, I could not move much at all. Now the pain which was 99% is about 10% painful. I can walk so much easier. I have had pain for so long I don't know why someone didn't recommend this a long time ago. I asked the pharmacist and he said I bet volteran would work. I have took almost all naids and they systic one shots which didn't work!! I am so happy and pain free!! I still have to thank the pharmacist!! I don't why the doctor's are no caring and there were more than one?? It seemed my pain was not important but I just wanted to dye it hurt so bad. I couldn't sleep, walk for over a year and now I sleep and walk!! Wow, just a little effort and help from a pharmacist. Read More Read Less

I developed knee pain at 65 yrs that wasn't getting better. Started on Voltaren and within 4-5 days the pain was gone. I don't take it unless the pain returns and it works within 24 hrs! Doc recommends only to take when needed due to side effects of increased blood pressure, fluid retention, stomach issues. Works for me!
