300MG 2x a day for 10 days I'm early at writing a review as I'm only four days into my medication, and I will be back to update. But I wanted to inform (WARN) you that this medication also causes bad gas from the southern hemisphere! Good Gracious!

My husband was in the hospital for 3 days with pneumonia in both lungs due to an infectious organism. After being treated with IV antibiotics for the 3 days, he was doing well and both lungs were clear. On the third day, he was released with a prescription for cefdinir 300 mg twice daily for 9 days. He complained about being exceptionally tired, and could barely do anything without lying down to r...

I was given this drug after 2 rounds of other antibiotics, that didn't work, for a sinus infection, I am an adult in my 40's. I was given a Rosefrin (not sure how to spell) injection and then this antibiotic. My joints began to ache after about 4-5 days of taking this drug. I read this was one of the side effects. I am still having joint pain after 2 weeks of being off of it. I have no desire to take this drug again! I just hope the joint pain goes away and is not permanent.

This was prescribed to my 15 month old for fluid in the ear. After 4-5 days she became severely red around her vagina. I thought it the med so discontinued. After reading, I am SURE it was the meds. She is a little less red after a day. I read one review about kidney function. I noticed her urine was less, strong and dark in the morning. I gave her more water. We will be eating yogurt, drinking water to flush the system, seeking a new ENT (and possibly pediatrian) and NEVER taking this medicine again.Read More Read Less

I was sick for a whole week before going to the doctor. She said I didn't have strep or mono but it was a really bad infection in my throat. So she gave me this, and I immediately began having red diarrhea, throwing up and a blockage of some sort in my right ear. I'm still taking this medicine and I still can't hear anything out of my ear. I don't know if it's because of the medicine or something else. But I wouldn't reccomend this to anyone.

My 2yr old had a high fever for a week and a half, we finally got a chest x-ray & discovered he had pneumonia. It took about 4-5 days on Cefdinir before we noticed an improvement (fever broke on day 5). He also had diarrhea with what resembled blood in it and slight diaper rash. I also noticed a change in his moods, he is much more moodier and difficult to soothe. Although the side effects have been a challenge to deal with, it was nothing compared to the scariness and severity of his underlying condition. I was told by my doctor that cefdinir is a great antibiotic, and that although my son did have diarrhea he should remain on the drug. This is day-7 and I can rest easy knowing that my son is on his way to making a full recovery from his very scary with pneumonia. Remember to keep your child well hydrated, provide constant fluids (preferably water) throughout the day, and monitor for signs of dehydration. Read More Read Less

I have been on this medication for 3 days with no improvement with dizziness and abdominal pain. Originally was on steroid pack for Vertigo, which did not work. Why prescribe something else that will make you dizzy. I would not recommend this medication, at least not for my symptoms.

My son was on this medication for 2 days and we had to stop due to severe vomiting, diaherra, and diaper rash. He was so sick and in pain. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with medication.

My doctor prescribed this for me (an adult) for a sinus infection. It made me SO sick--nauseous, with diarrhea and the constant feeling that I wanted to vomit. I don't think even Zithromax was this bad. I finally had to force myself to eat yogurt (I didn't want to eat ANYTHING) because I knew it would ultimately help. UGH; I don't ever want to take this again! I've been off of it for nearly a week, and I still don't feel back to normal.

This medicine took care of my sinus infection. However 1-2 days after starting it, I began to have bloody diahrrea. After about 2 more days, my private area became very inflamed and swollen, and I broke out with blisters in different areas. I will NEVER take this medicine AGAIN!!!

My 5 month old son went to the Dr. for Fever and possiable Strep throat. We gave him one dose of this med. and 6 hrs later we were in the ER. He had severe bloody diareah and throwing up. We will NEVER give this to him again. The Dr. said the Cefdinir was not the cause and we don't believe it since these are some of the side effects! We are now waiting on some additional tests down on my sons stool, as the Dr. still believes it wasn't the Cefdinir. Do not give this to your child!

our 14 month old grandson was given this medication and took it for only four days. He developed a bright red rash on his private areas, his cheeks, chin, and, nose. we discontinued the use and used diaper rash cream, aveeno bath soaks for his bottom(also great for regular diaper rash),and let him air out as much as possible. These symptoms were remedied easily. On the scarier side, It retarded the function of his kidneys for a few weeks and, hard almost dehydrated and bloody bowel movements causing him to strain when trying to poop. we are watching this to see what happens.Read More Read Less

This was given to me after I had already taken ten days of another antibiotic which did not get rid of my sinus infection. I took it two days and started spotting with a little pain. I stopped this medication and will call my doctor tomorrow and I will also call the FDA to report the side effects.

My 10 month old was prescribed this drug for an ear infection. After 4 days it seems to have cured the ear infection but now he's developed a sever rash on his bottom and private areas. The dr said it was a yeast infection as a result of the antibiotic and to give him yogart. We'll see if that cures it.
