I'm surprised by all of the negative reviews. I was in such pain I couldn't sleep and used it as a last resort since I'd tried everything else. Almost immediately after rubbing it into my knee I felt relief and was able to sleep. At times I've had to use it on my entire leg, gently rubbing it into the skin. I have had a burning sensation on the bottom part of my leg where the nerve endings are ...

DO NOT USE warning do not use. Product should be banned. Worst burning pain I have ever experienced. Very dangerous product. Capzasin HP sent me to the hospital for severe burning on my hands. You would not want this product in the hands of childern, elderly, animals or anybody. This product needs to be pulled from the shelves. Anybody who says different is a liar and most Likely works for the co...

Used on my neck and suffered severe burning and redness. Tossed the applicator immediately. This should only be available under doctor advice. Will not use it a second time.

Amazingly enough I had extreme back pain with nerve damage that resembles sciatica (nerve pain all the way down the buttocks into the top of my shin bone) I was crying in pain with this not in my back but the way it was affecting my leg. My daughter is a nurse and brought it to me. It was easy to apply because you did not have to touch it. You just squeeze a small amount out on a sponge that's attached to the tube of cream. My daughter warned me she said use an extremely small amount. I rubbed the applicator up my shin bone using very little of the cream. I was shocked the pain was gone almost immediately. I continued to use the cream, but over used it once and had burning, I used soap and water and washed it off and got relief. I used it once on my arm (tendinitis) but once again I applied to much. I would definitely use the cream again for nerve pain because it was a life saver. However, I think you have to be in extreme pain and use the least amount of cream as possible . I would say in the bed doing nothing. I think I was walking around possibly even sweating a little and the combination of all that is what caused the irritation on the arm. But the nerve pain on my shin bone radiating from the back, I was in the bed contemplating cutting my leg off (not really) to get rid of the pain. I think the pain has to be severe, and use the least amount of cream. I have had chronic back pain for years but have never used it on my back, but nerve pain, that's no joke. I also used it on my ankle once with an injury, but it really did not help much. Read More Read Less

This product really does work!! it completely took away my extremely painful chronic hip bursitis. You must use gloves as it is very painful and burning to the hands and parts of the skin where you are not in pain. However it did not cause me any pain at all over my hip area. I used this cream combined with hip stretches I found on YouTube. And my pain was gone the next day amazing!! This product must not be used on children or teenagers and could cause extreme burning.

Pure agony! I have joint pain in my knees and thumbs. I picked this up at Target last night, and applied as directed before I went to bed. Big mistake. I was up all night, trying to alleviate the God-awful burning sensation on my knees and hands. I took three cold showers, but my knee and several spots between my fingers had turned beet red and were badly blistered. My husband is on a business trip, and we have young children, but I called him, seriously contemplating going to the ER. I ended up taking 6 Tylenol throughout the night, and was crying because the pain was so intense. I've never had such a bad reaction to ANYTHING. The manufacturer of Capzasin needs to put a bold warning label on it, and it should not be over-the-counter among every other benign joint pain ointment. I am thankful I didn't inadvertently get it in my eyes. It's Irresponsible and reckless to leave this on the market without a blaring, glaring warning. THIS BURNS. Read More Read Less

I applied cream to my knee with my bare hand. I washed hands and went to bed. Woke up 2 hours later with burning pain in my hand that I had used to apply cream. Terrible burning pain like my hand was on fire. Washed hands several more times. Used cold water and ice to try to stem pain. Burning pain was so bad I couldn't sleep. Ten hours later I still have hand pain-like my hand is on fire. Guess I should have used gloves to apply the cream. Funny thing was my knee did not have same burning pain! Should have a much stronger warning on label about using gloves to apply cream! Don't think I will use this product again!! Read More Read Less

People need to understand that this stuff burns! Do not apply it with your bare hands! Use gloves and do not touch anything after application. Needs care to use but works!

I have taken this product for back, thigh, and neuropathic pain in my feet. It does not completely help the pain in my feet but it is worth using. The Capra sin does burn when using but it does not bother me because of the relief it provides. I use the liquid applicator so my hands do not come in con tact with the medicine.

I applied this to my knees for joint pain about a day and a half ago. The subsequent burning had me writhing in pain all night. Another reviewer described it as almost unbearable and I agree. It is some of the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. It should not be legal to sell something so devastatingly harmful. I thought it was safe because it was over the counter but I am in agony. I am actually thinking about suing the manufacturer.

Lower leg, calf and foot pain due to nerve damage . This stuff brings instant relief. Sure you need to be careful , as you would handling raw chilli, can be a bit hot if you don't wear gloves and give the eye or other sensitive areas a rub . Use sparingly at first to gauge effect and increase slowly. Great product.

I am sorry so many people had a bad experience with this. I will admit I went through some hell before it did what is says it will do.I used it on my shingles pain AFTER the shingles blisters were gone. The initial burning was horrible and I in fact cried. However, I bravely did another application 4 hours later and the burning was less and so was the nerve pain. I applied it the next day and again the burning was much less noticeable and the nerve pain finally tolerable. I could finally stop the Gabapentin and apply this cream as my only pain killer. It's not easy and it's not for everyone but please, all of you saying this should be banned are extremist. If you had a bad experience fine, let people know but don't try to take away my saving grace. Just don't use it. Simple. Yes, by the way, use gloves. This cream is hot you might start with regular rather than HP which means HIGH POTENCY. Read the label. Read More Read Less

I had not read anything about this product my husband bought. He didn't tell me until after I rubbed it all over my lower leg and foot that he couldn't use it. It burned so bad that he washed it off immediately. My leg felt like it was going to cramp prior to application, and that went away very nicely. It burned for about an hour but tolerable. However, the hand with which I applied it has been burning for hours Even though I washed twice, it burned my lips when I used my hand to wash my face and apply night cream. I couldn't sleep so got up and washed twice more with different product. It seems to be getting slightly better. I think this is a dangerous over-the-counter product! I hope I will be able to sleep tonight!Read More Read Less

It came down to using this or Lyrica to control my peripheral neuropathy. It takes about 2 months to start to really notice a difference. Not recommended if you have sensitive skin or live in a hot environment. My pain is with my feet. I had to wear loose socks or no socks. No extended time in foot wear, but my feet are actually starting to feel normal-ish. Or at least as good as they can after vitamin B failed to make any difference. If this is too strong you can also try a weaker version called LivRelief nerve pain. Downside to LivRelief is that it's more expensive and smells and is only .075% vs .1% Read More Read Less

All of a sudden, I felt a "pop" in my knee and I had I had terrible knee pain, especially on the sides and all around the knee. I have so far used Capzasin only once. I agree burning was BAD...my knee got all red and felt hot like on fire. But that subsided after about an hour, except behind my knee, where it still burns like crazy. But the rest of my knee does not hurt anymore after only one application yesterday. Today, I feel good, except for the still burning behind my knee. I can walk again and sit without pain and even go up/down stairs. I will use this again, except not behind the knee, and use a lot less. I really globbed it on yesterday !!Read More Read Less

I'm at urgent care now! This isn't normal at all! My back is dark red and feels like it's on fire! A shower did not help. It's been 5 hours now! Everytime 8 start to move out sweat it gets hot again. I would never recommend this product to anyone.and BTW I have a pretty big pain threshold and I use prescription strength muscle run on a regular basis... So this is not normal!

It works too good. I've used it many times but once I had it put on my back right after I got out of a hot shower and man. I kept looking in a mirror cause I was sure I was blistered. It does work but it hurts bad and probably shouldn't be used by people who have pale sensitive skin. I'm part Cajun and it still was a bit much. And never use a heating pad with this stuff. I did that too and it sucked!!
