I'm surprised by all of the negative reviews. I was in such pain I couldn't sleep and used it as a last resort since I'd tried everything else. Almost immediately after rubbing it into my knee I felt relief and was able to sleep. At times I've had to use it on my entire leg, gently rubbing it into the skin. I have had a burning sensation on the bottom part of my leg where the nerve endings are ...

DO NOT USE warning do not use. Product should be banned. Worst burning pain I have ever experienced. Very dangerous product. Capzasin HP sent me to the hospital for severe burning on my hands. I've been using this cream for a couple of months. It works extremely well for me. It creates a warm, soothing effect on my back. It's important to follow all instructions and wash hands well (including in between fingers) with soapy water after application and RINSE WELL. Also, never use this cream along with a heating pad! It could cause a burn. According to the research I've read, the longer this product is used, the more effective it becomes. It's true this product isn't for everyone and should never be used on children or sensitive folks, as it's powerful stuff.Read More Read Less

This is a very bad product. It should be banned from the market. I have used it in desperate painful situations and it only burns like FIRE. I had to pour water, milk, put ice on my forearm and elbow. I bought this product bc it falls under the category for arthritis pain relief, and has only caused grief.

Horrible side effects. Intense burning, especially when perspiration contacts it.

i use capzasin hp cream and no mess applicator. i find it works on my mid to upper back pain. it doesn't provide instant relief. i'd say it takes a couple weeks to build up and you have to keep using it. when i stop using it for a couple of days, the pain returns. it's difficult to use in the summer because the sweating activates it, and it can burn really bad to the point where i have to sit shirtless with my back to a fan. i don't think this product is for everyone and not for every pain. i don't recommend capzasin for anyone not familiar or intolerant of capsaicin. try a different brand with a lower percentage of capsaicin and develop a tolerance to it before using capzasin.Read More Read Less

URGENT ALERT TO ANYONE before using this cream for the first time: massage cream into a small area of skin, and wait 15 minutes before applying anywhere else to make certain you won't have an adverse reaction like I experienced - in my experience this stuff is almost poisonous. I am caretaker for terminally ill disabled woman, and because this cream had no smell or fragrance I was thrilled to purchase it and massaged it last night to her entire back, neck and all arthritic joints. I then washed my hands thoroughly. Within minutes she was literally screaming in pain, and my washed hands were burning hot. Her skin where this cream had touched was raised in red burning welts. It was impossible to wash the cream off sufficiently to stop her pain, or mine. She was unable to sleep all night and I had to consider taking her to emergency room. Her skin still shows raised red welts and she can barely move. Even the palms of my hands can barely be used 15 hours later. I am sick at heart that I caused this terrible pain to my charge.Read More Read Less

I'm waiting for the official word from my doctor (had an x-ray a couple of days ago) that my hip pain is, in fact, OA. I've used Capzasin-HP for three days now and it is working wonders. Yes, it does cause a burning sensation but nothing that drastic, IMHO. Plan on continuing to use it to alleviate my pain. I give it two thumbs up!

Oh. My. God. This stuff has to be the devils brother. I have never in my life felt pain from using a roll on medication in my entire life. I'm not kidding-this felt like having an open womb and pouring hot coals over it. INSANE. It caused a severe redness and swelling on my neck and upper back. I had to leave work and come home to take a shower to wash it off, take Benadryl, and sit with ice packs on the spot I used it on. You should stay VERY FAR AWAY from this particular cream. It's hard to believe this is supposed to relieve pain, when in all reality it actually caused me MORE pain from the burning sensation. It literally looks and feels like a 3rd degree burn. I'm still in shock at the reaction it caused. I can't stress enough that you should stay away from this as a "treatment."Read More Read Less

I have Plantar fasciitis and I don't like taking pills. I tried stretching exercises and they helped a bit, but this works way better. Cheap easy quick way to make the pain go away. I don't feel any burning and I put it on many times.

Individuals experiencing pain need to know this is normal and to follow instructions carefully, but some can be allergic to it. I'm using it on a knee as it aches and was difficult to bend, kneel, squat, get up, and do stairs. I'm an elementary teacher and found it difficult to do everyday teaching and living activities. This cream is amazing, Within 1 week I'm able to do most anything again. The burning sensation is still there a bit, but has decreased. I find it comforting now. Do not shower immediately, nor use heat on the body part affected after applying the cream though. You will feel a strong sense of burning. I often use it twice a day and the night application helps my muscles and joints relax so I can sleep.Read More Read Less

DO NOT USE!!!! I strained my back carrying my son upstairs to bed. Wife applied this cream on my back and about 5 min later, I felt like my back was on fire. I like to think I have a good tolerance for pain but this is ridiculous. I wish I can add pictures of my back. It left my back completely red and the burning sensation is what I describe having a Habanero pepper rubbed on you. I tried to jump in the shower but the water seemed to make it worse. I guess I won't get much sleep tonite. Should have read all the reviews first. I think this product was on the CIA torture list for interrogation tactics. Read More Read Less

horrible effects of stinging - even thoroughly washing with soap and water doesn't rid you of that and if it gets on your hands and you accidentally touch another spot that burns as well. I got zero pain relief. I threw it away.

this stuff works wonders, except if it's on my hand and I poke my eye. Once you are used to it, it doesn't burn, but it is deep heating. I'll not buy any other arthritis/joint stuff again.

I applied this product to the wrenched back of my 102 yr old aunt. I can only thank God that it's me & not her who is going through this unbearable burning in the palms of my hands as a result. I have tried everything from olive oil; vegetable oil; vinegar; alcohol; yogurt; butter; milk and washing my hands with Gojo hand cleanser. After 7 hours of intense burning, NOTHING has brought me relief. This product is dangerous and should not be sold to anyone. Even using gloves and/or washing the hands immediately after handling it is not worth the risk of this excruciating pain. The packaging nor the pharmacist afforded a warning of the many ways the burning can be reactivated and transferred to other parts of the body. This information should be in large bold font, along with suggested antidotes to neutralize the tormenting burning it creates. AVOID THIS PRODUCT AT ALL COST!!!Read More Read Less

I thought my back was on fire. Couldn't stop it only with cold rag. I would rather have the back pain then the continuous burning that it produces.
