I have been taking Norco for years for treatment of Fibromyalgia and RSD pain (plus a few other fun things). I have fairly severe nerve damage and the pain is horrendous without meds. Before I found a doctor who would actually treat my pain, I wanted to give up. Taking the meds gave me back my life. I had to deal with the predjudice people have against people who take long-term pain meds and had t...

It does not relieve pain well for me as I have had failed spinal fusion. I had the worse time ever staying out of pain if you take more than 2 a day you have withdrawls in a week and it does not give me good relief I would have to take to many and it is not good for me. Makes me not want to eat and my quality of life is worse than on vicodine Is there any thing else that would work?

Norco 10/325 is fine for severe pain the first couple of times you take it. It works best though when in prescribed in conjuction with something else, such as the (non-narcotic) muscle relaxer cyclobenzaprine. My beef with hydrocodone - the active narcotic in Norco - is that it's only effective the first couple of times. By Day 2 or Day 3 it seems to get self-tolerant, i.e., it no longer feels like you even took anything for pain. Other narcotics (oxycodone, and even just codeine) are far more consistent, providing relief for at least several weeks. I don't know why Norco loses it's effectivenss so quickly, compared to other strong pain killers.Read More Read Less

Taking one tablet of the medicine at night did not appear to relieve the pain. It made me itch like crazy, sweat/get hot on and off and I never really got a good sleep. Should I ever have any surgery again, I will ask for something else.

Very effective in treating pain without the nauseous side effects and upset stomach Vicodan can give. Only noticeable side effect was slight drowsiness. And they are much smaller too for easier swallowing.

I have been taking this medication for 4 days so far it has relieved my pain in my left neck, shoulders and upper arm muscle. I have been taking only half of pill because I wasn't sure how I would react to it since I am allergic to morphine. I found out when I was sick and the doctor prescribed cough medicine with morphine . I had really bad dreams and hallucinations. Any way Norco has helped ease the pain to my satisfaction.

Was on lortab until "when those who be" decided 650 of acetaminophen was too much, switched to Norco 10/325. No change on effectiveness . Was reading one persons comments that she was suppose to take one every 12 hrs on empty stomach, being a RN I have never of such. Mine prescribed is one every 4 hrs as needed up to 5 a day. Works perfect for me. She needs to change Dr's.....pain management. specialist!!!

About 20 years ago, I started a new job (one of the best) and there was a lady working there who was wheelchair bound. I found out she had a terminal disease, but her attitude was one of the best in the place. She rarely missed work...and eventually started sharing her pain meds with me (for a small fee). She passed away this past January (2014) and I miss her generous supply of narcotics. I have to purchase my meds from friends and acquaintances and a couple dealers. Since her passing, I have cut down on the strength and doses of the narcotics until I can quit entirely. It's a struggle, but well worth it. At age 63, I can't let narcotic addiction destroy my life.Read More Read Less

Did not give me the pain relief I had anticipated. Gives relief quickly but does not last; is not a long acting medication in me.

After having back surgery that went awry,I now have radiculopathy, neuropathy, and spinal stenosis and now I am permanent and totally disabled. This medication has worked the best for me as most of the other drugs made me sick or didn't work at all.

I had 4 surgeries within 2 years and Norco was the pain medication prescribed to me. In the beginning, it worked very well. But unfortunately I became HIGHLY addicted to it. It's no joke, if you can manage without it, do. If you cannot, then really monitor your intake. And most importantly if you have an addictive behavior, have a loved one keep them from you and give you the dosage as needed.

I went to ER this morning due to severe pain on left side of body, neck stiffness, vomiting and migraine. My sister thought it could be a heart attack but I went simply because the pain was so intense and I needed relief. As it turns out, it wasn't a heart attack but acute sciatica and pulled muscles in shoulder/neck areas. ER doc prescribed Norco with an anti-nausea medication to be taken every 4 hours. To my amazement, 10 hours later and I am feeling much better. I had low expectations that I would feel relief, much less this quickly. A miracle. I am able to sit up with minimal pain and the migraine has lessened signifcantly as well. Highly recommend Norco for back pain and throw in some Ibuprofen every few hours to help with migraine. Amazing.Read More Read Less
