I was prescribed Cryselle after taking the depo shot and suffering heavy bleeding for four continuous months. Cryselle has been fantastic for me. My period lasts no more than four days. As for the side effects, all birth control has side effects but Cryselle was the best for me.

I am taking this birth control to get ready for my IVF cycle. I am not on anything else and this is giving me horrific mood swings. I pray my husband can put up with me for a few more weeks before IVF because I am a total bitch to live with right now. Buyer Beware!

I had to switch my BC due to being on my other BC for too long.I stopped having my periods, so my doctor put me on Cryselle. I read all of the reviews on WebMD and I was a little nervous. I started taking this drug and it was aweful. I took it for 5 months. Every single month I fought depression (which I have never had in my life!), no sex drive and I started to break out on my face. I am in my 30's and the last thing I want is acne when I have never had it before. Today, I switched to Micro-Gestin Fe 120. We shall see how this BC works!Read More Read Less

It prevented mid cycle spotting which is what I needed and was effective in birth control and timing my period but I felt very anxious and depressed on it with horrible mood swings! I also got very nauseaous especially during the first week of every packet. I do not recommend !!!

I switched to this pill from a tri pill about 9 months ago due to bleed through the tri pill. After a few months i noticed that i would PMS 2weeks into my pack and through my "period pills", i also have no motivation whats so ever, along with feeling extremely lethargic. Its caused my skin to be more broken out than normal, I have gained weight and have had depression spells since starting this medication. It has shortened and lighten my periods but a mile stone, however, the side effects that come along with deture me from prolonged use. I will soon be off this pill completely and going with other options. Read More Read Less

My boyfriend and I have just gotten serious so I decided to go on birthcontrol for the first time. My doctor prescribed me Cryselle. I have only been taking it for a week and I'm not very pleased. The first few days i was extremely bloated (I work out 2 hrs a day so this was pretty shocking to see) .My boobs are already swollen and painful, my hair has gotten greasy with, I become nauseous within hours of taking it, I have a yeast infection, and my skin doesn't look as clear as it usually does. In addition to all of this, I have terrible mood swings, I'm losing my sex drive, and I have been thinking of breaking up with my boyfriend as a result. I would not suggest this birthcontrol to anyone i am calling my doctor tomorrow i can't imagine going through a whole month of this. Read More Read Less

I've been on this bc for 3 weeks now and today will be my last day on it. The side effects of the bc is too much for me. I've had what appears to be yeast infections/ dryness. I also spotted the entire 3 weeks on this bc which was irritating because I thought my period would start so I would panic. I have been extremely moody and lethargic and even depressed at times. I have had no motivation whatsoever to do anything. My sex drive is so-so but I have a high sex drive. Overall, my spouse has noticed significant changes in my behavior and has suggested for me to no longer take the bc. I also had bad acne breakouts my first week of using it. I am extremely happy that I will be getting my period soon and off this drug for good. Read More Read Less

I was terrified of starting birth control due to the horror stories I had heard from other women in the past. I am a small person, and due to this, I had very irregular periods. I would suffer from PMS for weeks on end before my period would actually start. Most times, I would have to take a progestin supplement to actually get my period. This started happening more and more often and started really affecting my life. I spoke to my doctor and she put me on Cryselle. This drug has changed my life. It's been 3 and 1/2 months and I have had no sidae effects, no weight gain and my period is regular/short every month. It's given me the positive change I needed so badly!Read More Read Less

This completely neutralized my sex drive. I went from always wanting sex to being repulsed by it. I don't even want to do it on my own either. Made me dry as well. It was a meh. Although my periods were about 3 days. That was convenient

As far as I can tell, this medication has worked for me. I have been on it for almost 7 weeks and taken it exactly the same time everyday(i set an alarm). I take it because of irregular and extremely painful periods and a hormonal imbalance and my first period on the pill was on time, painfree and did not last two weeks(unlike before). My moods have stabalized since after the first two weeks and I don't seem to be pregnant. My fiancee and I have used back up but recently our backup(condoms)...failed. So we'll know in a week if Cryselle is effectiveRead More Read Less

This pill has made me very sick. I have severe headaches, extreme bleeding with clots. I am very aggravated, hot and I am having a hard time sleeping. I have no desire for sex since being on this horrible pill. I am totally dissatisfied with it and would never advise it to anyone.

I was taking cryselle for the past probably 3-4 years; I was on Ortho-Tri Cycline since 2005 until about 2008. I had a physical about two months ago and because I was only taking this pill for the lighter and predictable periods I was told to stop taking them. I have been off for about two months now and although my periods are alot heavier now and a little unpredictable I have my sex drive back that I thought I had lost due to my age (37) by the way. It has been an amazing turn around for me as well as my husband. I would suggest alot of research before you pick your birth control. I had no idea. Read More Read Less

STAY AWAY! This bc seems to just be horrible over all I am not even finished with my second month and I just up and quit. It has made me so emotionally unstable and depressed to the point where I am having unwanted emotions about my boyfriend of two and a half years... For absolutely no reason! I have horrible headaches and i cry at least three times a day mainly over wanting to end a relationship I have always been more than happy in. This drug makes you a crazy person and the exact opposite of who you really are.Read More Read Less

I have had a constant battle with birth control since I began taking it several years ago. I was on Loestrine for a long time and LOVED it, but after so long it stopped working for me and my doctor moved me to Cryselle 28...I hoped that it would help, i was very optimistic..now I am the most depressed I have ever been in my life. It works great for BC though because it takes away ALL of your sex drive...your boyfriend will be begging you to ditch it and pleading to use condoms instead. Stay away from this pill if you care about your relationship at all. Between the mood swings and the lack of sex your man will run for the hills. Read More Read Less

After taking low dose Cryselle for 6 weeks I ended up in the ICU for 5 days with several large blood clots in both lungs. I also had fluid around my heart and a valve that was stretched out on my heart due to the clots blocking the blood from entering into my lungs. My resting heart rate was over 160 beats per minute. I thought I was going to die. It has taken several months to feel almost normal again with my lungs/heart rate. I am stuck now with PTSD from the whole horrible experience and the thoughts of it ever happening again. Pulmonary embolisms suck and I would caution anyone taking birth control to always be aware of the signs of blood clots and embolisms. I would never wish this ordeal on anyone -- thankfully I am lucky enough to be one of the ones who lived through it. Read More Read Less

My OBGYN switched me to this BC bout 5 months ago and at first I liked it now I just hate it. My weight ballooned(gained 20 lbs in3 months cause of my appetite increased), mood swings are horrible especially the week of or before my period, extremely dry, sex drive is lost most of the times and itchy nipples? Not sure why they keep on itching but they didnt start doing that til I started this BC. I'm asking my OBGYN for another medicine or to get back on my Lo-Orgestral.
