Had very large prostate for my age. Desire to urinate 3 to 4 times a night. Hard to drive home from work without stopping at rest area to urinate. I've been taking Avodart for 12 months as of now. I sleep through the night without getting up. No problem driving home. Flow of urine is much better. Side effects: I've had trouble with sexual desire. I can still get it up but ejaculate is minimal. Terrible, loss of sex drive when you are a newly wed isnt good there has to be a better option, they all have the same side effects no matter what you take.

I can finally sleep through most of the night. I have more energy each day, and I don't plan my travels based on bathrooms.

Going on 5 mos. Some improvement in some urination problems, but has not improved frequency. Problems with erection, ejaculation & reduced semen. Cialis has helped with erection. Wonder if it's worth it.

The difference between Finasteride and Avodart (dutasteride). At this time, I'm not sure with Finasteride.

It seems to be helping. My PSA was at 4.99 down from 5.6. Prostate is about twice the size. I will be on Avodart until December 08 when I see the doctor again.

Have been using Avodart for approx. 8 months. Swelling breasts, loss of sex drive, loss of hardness, with no ejacation. But using Cialis for that problem. But my running to to the toilet has decreased, when I do go I do urinate freely. Still getting up twice a night to urinate. Which is down from 5 to 7 times of false alerts. Question I have is Adovart a Testosterone blocker?

My urination problems (slow start, low flow, intense need to urinate) have for the most part subsided. My PSA dropped from 4.8 to 2.4

Started taking after Flowmax was not very helpful. Still getting up 1 or 2 times a night (less than before however). The biggest problem is no practical erection and extremely difficult to reach orgasm if at all. Dribble of ejaculate if I ever do reach orgasm. Been taking Avodart 9 months, Flowmax 14 months. Still taking both. Must speak to my doctor about this as it is very frustrating.

After two week use, sex drive noticeably down. I'm into my fourth week and can add erection and sensitivity problems. Urine flow a bit better but not worth the trade off. I may have taken my last pill last night. At the least, I'll take a few weeks off to see if sex issues improve.
