I really like this medication. I am on my second month and have had no problems, especially because I never forget to take it. It has cleared up my skin significantly and I have definitely not had a decrease in sexual desire. If anything, it's a comfort not having that worry in the back of my mind that I might get pregnant unplanned. I am very satisfied with this birth control. I also highly...

I have always been very anemic and continuously have had irregular periods. I tried one birth control about a year ago that made me soo moody and gain five pounds in a month. I stopped taking it after a month because I couldn't stand it. My doctor put me on this one. It regulates perfectly and I have had no mood changes. The only issue is the first week every month it makes me so nauseous for about 3-4 days. About five hours after taking it, it makes me throw up and feel sick for about 3 hours. Taking it with food helps a lot though. Because of the nausea I have actually lost weight and the rest of the month I don't have any irregular eating habits or metabolism issues. No acne or other strange symptoms. Read More Read Less

I have been taking mononessa for about six months. I was nauseous at first but that went away in about a week. My face cleared up completely and I shave way less. Recently though my mood has been out of control! I am always angry and irritated. I have become really anxious and sad most of the time. I have decided to stop taking it. I really thought I found the perfect bc.

I've been taking Mononessa since January, and it has been effective in terms of contraception. I have gained weight from it, and for the first couple months it did make me more emotional, but that has gone back to normal for the most part.

I have been taking Mononessa for one month. This pill does not agree with me! I've had severe mood swings/emotional, bloating, and weight gain. I never had acne before starting this medication. I now have severe breakouts all over my face and especially on my chin. I stopped taking this pill and have an appointment scheduled with my doctor.

I began taking this pill in February. The first month I had a constant light bleeding. This was one of the side effects listed for the first few months of use. After the first month, it was gone. My skin has never had bad acne but this pill improved my skin and it is now flawless! The only area I gained weight was my boobs. Not complaining! I take this pill every day at the same time and feel great.

Oh, okay. So i started this pill over 2014 Summer. It sucked, i had insane mood swings, anxiety, angry, stomach pains, totally lost my appitite, pretty sure i had changes in blood pressure, headaches for 4-5 days, tired, nausea all day, I would feel nauseous trying to eat. I couldn't eat for days at a time. I was constantly irritable. Lost a lot of friends, sex drive was normal, acne was gone, hair wasn't greasy. Constant tenderness in my boobs, and my muscles were always tender as well. Heart palpatations, I ended up in the ER... ovary pain. I went to the GYNO and we took tests, checked the lady parts, I was 100 percent normal and i even got a ULTRA SOUND!!! i was a DRAMA QUEEN too. Even after i took quit i missed a period. I still loose my appitite all the time, still am pretty nauseous a lot.-- Switching to YAZ.Read More Read Less

This pill was horrible. My skin would break out like crazy during my cycle that wouldn't go away for about 2 weeks, then it would just start over again for the next cycle! I woke up every morning with migraines that would make me black out for a couple seconds. Very nauseous all the time, very moody and emotional, and I gained about 10 pounds after taking it for 8 months. I do not recommend this pill.

I started taking this specific birth control exactly one week ago. I'm very good at keeping up with how my body reacts to a medicine. The morning after taking the pill, I woke up to my face completely broken out, reminded me of acne I got when I hit puberty. Two nights later I woke up out of a dead sleep to extreme nausea and the next night I had a migraine that kept me awake literally all night. I have been on two other birth control types for two different years and never have I had such an awful experience before. I've stopped taking the birth control for two days now and my face is already clearing up and going back to normal. I've made an appt to get switched to something better ASAP Read More Read Less

Monessa was fine for the first few months. Then I started to put on the weight and get my acne back. I gained twenty pounds and no matter how hard I workout and eat right, it is not coming off.

I began taking mononessa four months ago (I am 17 years old), and at first it was great, my skin cleared up and my breasts became fuller (although they were very sensetive). About two months in, I noticed significant weight gain (I eat relatively healthy and workout 4-6 times a week). I began to have extreme anxiety, I wasn't able to perform daily tasks. I became extremely emotional as well, I can practically cry on cue. I have very little energy and have mood swings. I am constantly bloated and nauseated. My sex drive has dissapeared. I only feel normal on my period. It was extremely effective as a birth control, I had no pregnancy scares after having unprotected sex with my SO on several occasions. However, the side effects have gotten worse and I am going to go off of mononessa as soon as possible. Read More Read Less

I switched to Mononessa in order to skip my monthly cycle(you just don't take the period pills and you wont get it). To start with, the switch to Mononessa made me nauseous for 2-3 days. I was extremely emotional and would cry over anything (happy or sad things) lol. The worst part was that my face AND my back began breaking out with acne cysts, not just regular bumps. It was HORRIBLE! I have clear skin and rarely even get a bump and these were huge, painful, CYCSTS that lasted for weeks! I was terrified that they would leave scars on my face. I was an emotional mess. Needless to say, I switched back to TriNessa. My skin cleared right back up and I was back to myself. I definitely recommend TriNessa, it's worked great for me and I'll stick with it! As for Mononessa, I had a horrible experience with it. Read More Read Less

Alright, I've been on this for almost 2 weeks. This is the first birth control I have ever taken. I don't know about other pills but this one makes me feel sick after anything I eat, I am always tired, I've gained weight and no way to get rid of it. And finally I am beyond moody. I cry at everything now and scream at everything. Little things like baking irritate me. And I'm normally a mellow person. Overall I hope later on my experience will be better. But for now I am not happy with it.

I switched to mononessa after getting nauseous on trinessa every month. Mononessa was easy to take and worked well however I still had nausea on this pill. It wasn't as bad as trinessa. The doctor switched me to something with lower estrogen to see how that works out. I also tried taking this pill continuously for a couple months and after about 6 weeks I spotted for a week straight. I think if I had tried it longer it would have worked out but the nausea was just too much for me.

I have been on Mononessa for almost 2 months. I have gained 5 pounds, my acne has come back, I have severe mood swings, and I have been on my period for the last month. This is the worst birth control I have ever been on. I would not recommend this for anyone.

While this was an improvement from Lo Loestrin, that's not saying much (my experience with that was awful, terrible mood swings). Mononessa still messes with my mood. Instead of being depressed all the time like I was with Lo Loestrin, I've become very reactive. I can be totally fine one moment and then something my boyfriend says/does just sets me off. I cry very easily. Before I started birth control, I knew myself to be very upbeat, positive and rational. Now, I'm just trying to find something that doesn't make me a crybaby. I also want to say I've gained 6-7 lbs. since I started it. Read More Read Less
