    I am an 80yr old male. I had a severe case of osteo my-E-litis whichincluded a 25lb abcess in my left side. For the following 9 years, I had 8 surgeries and was on Opiates for pain. The "killer" drug for me was Oxycodone. I finally decided to get off this drug despite my Pain MD telling me not to go to detox. I went anyway and now take buprenorphine.     Its a great medication to get off opiates but I have spent a fortune on the doctors visit for the past five years
