I suffer from degenerative osteoarthritis in my back, hips and knees and I am in constant pain. This medicine makes the pain tolerable to where I can continue working and having a somewhat normal life. Although it does not relieve the pain completely, I can certainly tell when I missed a dose.

HORRIBLE!!! I am swollen from my head to my toes, hugely swollen. I itch like crazy. My tongue is swollen, my chest hurts, shortness of breath. My feet and hands hurt so badly I can not explain and they are swollen to the point they are bright red and look and feel like they are going to explode. This is the worst drug I have ever encountered. I have scratched until I have bled and Benadryl does not help at all. Do not have money to go to ER but will be first in the door at my Dr's office in the morning. Read More Read Less

3 days after I started taking it I woke up with hives, a swollen lip, and my body felt like it got hit by a truck. Needless to say, I think I'm allergic to it. I'm calling my doctor monday to get something new. The 3 days I was on it I didn't see a change in my pain.

Just started 1 day ago. 3 pills in my system so far & no issues. I have Degenerative Disc Disease in my Cervical Spine, as well as a new issue (yet to be diagnosed) in my Sacrum/Coccyx. I 44 years old & my father suffers from severe RA. I will be teested for this very soon, however Degen Disc Dis runs in the family as well. I will update my report in a couple of weeks. I pray it continues to help me with no damaging side effects. Im very fortunate with various medications, they do what they are suppose to do, with litte side effect from anything. I've taken so many different narcotic pain relievers. I've just been changed to the combination of Oxycontin-pain, Norflex-muscle relax, Percocet for break-thru pain during the day a needed, and now the Relafen for the inflamation. I'm praying they have found the right combination, as I want to do without another surgery as long as I can. Thank you all for your reviews. Hang in there to all of you, who's physican/pain mgmnt teams have not yet found the combination to help you. Read More Read Less

I haven't had to take ANY medications of any kind , until now. Took the med for first time today, and I am feeling like I am drunk! I am going to contact my Dr. in the a.m. about this problem.

This medication killed my mother. She took one dose of it and it destroyed her liver. A donor could not be located in time and she passed away. She was on no other medication at the time. Death certificate reads: Liver failure due to Relafen reaction. Watch out for jaundice issues - yellowing eyes and skin etc. Obviously, this must be the one in a million case, but I thought I'd better post it.

I was prescribed Relafen for the creakyness and pain in my neck however this medication did not relieve my pain at all. It also caused me to break out in an itchy rash on my chest area. Discontinued taking it.

The Side effects have been rough for me to function. I work and I am in school with three children. The dizziness and upset stomach this medication causes disrupts me functioning throughout the day.

Began using for siatic nerve pain....could not believe it worked, have been taking it for eight years now. It helps with my degenerative disc disease, and also with cluster headaches...don't have them as long as I take it. I tend to have some of the more obscure side effects, limb tremors, but take a break from the drug periodically. Hard on stomach but if taken with food I have no problem. All in all has been very helpful, just concerned about long, long term use. Have had chronic joint disease since I was 23 and have taken a variaty of meds.Read More Read Less

It works wonderfully for my arthritis and I feel really good after taking it. Most of the pain is gone. So far I have had no real side effects.

I have joint pain in my fingers. My index fingers lock. I used relafen one day which resulted in a painful intestinal irritation with severe diarrhea. I don't know if this reaction was due to taking relafin with other medication that I take but I won't take it again.
