Percocet goes straight to my pain and I have sever chronic pain! It does not make me dizzy or nauseated. I HAVE NO side effects and do not feel I need to take more than needed. One would know if you take too much because you would get dizzy or euphoric. Any pain medication that you feel any euphoria, in my opinion, has addictive properties. When Percocet 5/325 or a 10/325 cut in half, relieves m...

I was prescribed Percocet/Oxcodone following my GYN surgery. It had not effect on my pain, just made me sleep for 2 hours. I know several people who have been prescribed this drug and have the same comments. When I called my doctor's office after no relief from the pain, the nurse stated the drug was only meant to 'sedate' me not to relieve the pain. I remember the post-op nurse saying the same...

this drug was very strong, and caused a lot of anxiety for me. I was dizzy, lightheaded, and very drowsy, but couldn't seem to sleep....it helped the pain for about an hr, but then I began to vomit repeatedly. It's not for everyone.

I was taken off of this and put on tramadol. That drug did not work and caused severe nausea and vomiting every time I tried to take it. Percocet worked for my severe pain with very few side affects. If you only take it when the pain is severe I found it had less of a "buzzy" type effect which I'd rather avoid. Yes, you do have to be careful as I noticed needing to increase the dosage faster than I would have liked but, honestly if you really only take it when you absolutely have to then you can avoid most of that. My second time on it, I followed that criteria and never had to increase the dose once. I wish doctors would learn more about pain management. Most Gp's will put you on ANYTHING BUT a narcotic when some types of pain will NOT respond to other drugs well. Meanwhile those of us with severe pain have no life at all till we can get on something that actually works! I have to think if it was the doctor in that kind of pain he'd not hesitate to take what works and would get it a lot sooner than most of us do. Read More Read Less

this has help immensely with the pain I have from spinal stenosis & scoliosis. I have tried to go without anything but pain relievers and but the pain is too intense, and I have to stick with the prescription the doctor has given me for pain.

Percosets are great for my four herniated discs that are pressing on nerves in my neck and back. My pain extends from neck to arms, from lower back down right leg. Not only do percosets deaden my pain, they also give extra boost of energy (whereas, other pain relievers causes severe drowsiness and depression). I caution you and from experience, Percosets are extremely addictive and you have the tendency to take more pills than prescribed. I further caution you ... Do not run out of your percosets before your next refill. Severe side effects will occur. Read More Read Less

I recently had spinal fusion surgery and expected far greater relief than I received because I had been told of how great the response would be. I did have some relief, but not what I expected.

My only concern with this combination pain medication goes along with many other combination pain medications which have added high doses of either aspirin or acetemetophine to their primary pain reliever such as oxycodone in the percocet. I just don't thing that physicians think sometimes before they write a prescription for chronic pain that for the most part patients don't need or want all that extra aspirin or acetemetophine; especially, for someone like myself who has been taking Percocet for pain for the past twenty years for Bi lateral avascular neucrosis. However, I have been able to get this point across to my new physician and he just writes for 5mg of oxycodone w/o the added APAP.Read More Read Less

I have fibromyalgia, and was recently in a car accident. This is the only medication I have taken that works for the pain. While it doesn't completely eliminate the pain, it allows me to function somewhat normally.

eI suffer with fibromyalgia. This medication allowed me to move without feeling like the bones in my legs are breaking. But with all the horror stories about addiction and over dosing it's almost impossible for people living with chronic pain to receive this medication. My Dr. won't even prescribe it anymore unless you've had surgery.
