I began taking Crestor (10 mg) in June. My cholesterol level dropped from 235 to 135 in four months. However, I began experiencing hip and knee pain. It became painful to walk, and the pain was so great I was having difficulty sleeping a night. Aleve and Tylenol Arthritis didn't totally eliminate the pain. Overall, my quality of life has been significantly effected. My doctor also takes Cr...

After taking this drug for a month, I'd noticed my left leg aching in the middle of the night. I had no pain while walking during the day, but at night after laying down for a period of time the aching would start again. I discontinued taking the drug, but the aching still remains after several months.

I have notice to have leg craps a night. Sometime hard for me to sleep. It has lowered my cholestrol from 236 to 164. So it has worked. Just concern with the leg pain.

I used Crestor for 2 years and it was very effective in reducing my cholesterol numbers but even after decreasing the dosage to one pill only 4 times a week, I had severe muscle pains in my back, shoulders, legs and weakness in my right leg. I have gone off it and all the pains have subsided and my sinus problem is much improved. Now I'm going to start taking Welchol, to see what happens.

I've been on Crestor 40 mg for about 2 weeks now, I was on the 20 mg for a year before that, & I had some symptoms then, but didn't know it was the Crestor til now. I hurt all over, tired ALL the time, feel like I'm in a daze half the time, I can't seem to function at all 90% of the time. After reading other reviews here on Crestor, I've decided to stop taking mine tomorrow to see if I get better, & if I do, I will tell my Dr. next week about this.

I have written 2 reviews on 01/31/08 at 11am and 12:11pm and now I just want to give an update. I still have no diagnosis. Im told that Im a mystery. I ache from shoulders to feet every single day now. I do not take any medication for my cholesterol. Still very high but has not exceded the 286 that I started with. After an MRI on my back, MRI on my head, EMG(very painfull test on nerves and muscles), and an Echocardiogram. Still no diagnosis. Now I have an Aldosterone level(KIDNEY)of 67 and the normal is 0-21.. Two blood test were done in a 4 mo period and now go back next month for 1 more series and if still high then I will have a CT on my kidney and Liver to look for a Tumor... Crestor did all this to me and there is no way anyone will every change the way I feel. Still out of work on Disability. 40+ hrs working mother of 2 children to nothing...... Thanks Alot!!!!!!!!!! I have taken Crestor for two years, but recently started experiencing muscle pain in my lower left arm. I am thinking about discontinuing it to see if the pain goes away. Has anyone else experienced pain in lower arm muscles?

After using this drug for 6 months, yes, effectively reducing my cholesterol, BUT, in addition to general fatigue, I felt weakness in my leg muscles. Then the WORST side affect of all happened -20 minutes into a very light jog.... "POP." As if shot in the back of my calf by a rifle. I ruptured my plantaris tendon with additional damage to my gastrocnemius and soleus muscles. I have NO doubt the Crestor is to blame. I immediately stopped taking this drug. I'll deal with high cholesterol another way. For the record, I work as a golf caddie and I walk 6 miles a day! Read More Read Less

This pill gave me restless leg syndrome. So I was given Requip to help. Stop the Crestor and the RLS problem will go away.

United Healthcare sent me a notice saying I could cut my cost in half by having my Dr. order the 40 mg instead of the 20 mg and cut the 40 mg in cut. Upon receiving the 40 mg I noticed there's no line to cut in half. Should I take it every other day?

I am satisfied with this drug, however I have experienced muscle weakness during exercise and normal activities. I am now coming off of the medication due to this.

I find it very interesting that so many users of Crestor have complained of leg/muscle pain. After using Crestor for 2 months following a heart attack, the leg pain was the #1 complaint to my cardio Dr. along with insommnia. However, the medication has been very effective in lowering my levels quickly along with a healthy diet and daily exercise.
