makes me very lathargic and "zone out"

I was prescribed this med (5mg x3 times daily for back muscle pain. I am treated by the Department of Veterans Affairs, so the selection of drugs available to the Physican is limited. I was hoping that not only would it relieve my muscle pain, but that it would help me sleep. Well, it provided minimal relief of pain, and absolutely NO sleeping effects. I am 6'2". 275 pounds, so it is possible the dose prescribed was inadequate. I have been prescribed Ambien for sleep, but after several weeks of use on and off, the side effects (loosing memory x 3-5 days, doing things in my sleep such as walking places, calling people at 2-5am that I have no recollection of, etc.) outweighed the benefits, so I discontinued use. I am also on Lortab (10/500)x 3 times daily as needed, and although it does relieve the knee pain to "bearable", it does NOTHING for my back. I'm not sure what the solution is, but obviously Cyclobenzaprine HCL 5mg is ineffective as ordered. On my next appointment, I will discuss this with my medical physician. I fully understand that it is important for the VA to severly restrict "controlled substance" medication because of the potential for abuse, I think that someone like me with no history of ANY drug abuse, prescription, street drugs, or alcohol, should be treated based on my weight and my degree of pain. I was prescribed this drug (10mg) for relief of tension migraines. I would have severe muscle spasm in the shoulders and all throughout the back. This medicine would relieve all the pain and even stops mild spasms from less severe pain in the back. It almost acts like a sleeping pill for me in that after a few hours I can't keep my eyes open. I guess I'm just incredibly relaxed.

After fusion surgurey on my L5, I had some crazy muscule spasms in my left leg. 10 mg took that away without any other affects.

PAIN SPECIALIST PRESCRIBED IT BECAUSE OF TROUBLE SLEEPING DUE TO EXCESSIVE PAIN. BEFORE TAKING THIS MEDICATION I COULD SLEEP NO MORE THAN 1 TO 2 HOURS CONTINOUSLY. USING THIS MEDICATION I REST PEACEFULLY FOR AT LEAST 5 SOLID HOURS. PROBLEMS; THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I WILL WAKE UP FEELING LIKE I HAVE A HANGOVER. GAVE UP DRINKING ALCOHOL NEARLY 28 YEARS AGO SO I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. AT TIMES IT WOULD TAKE ME 4 TO 6 HOURS TO BECOME A FUNCTIONING HUMAN BUT ALWAYS HAD A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP.

It affeced my urinary tract and made it difficult to urinate completely.

Makes me very sleepy and I only take at bedtime. I have rotator cuff problems with bone spurs. Very painful..nothing really helping at this point and it has been months of pain and low range of motion.

I started taking this pill after having really bad back pain from work. It works wonders. I only take it before I go to bed. I sleep the whole night and feel refreshed in the morning. My back doesn't even start hurting until close to bedtime, when it's time to take another pill. I would highly recommend this pill. IT'S EXCELLENT!!!!

This medication does not work well for me at all. I have found that I am putting medication in my system for nothing. I have found other meds that work better.

My Dr. just diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. I have bad neck, shoulder and back pain which causes headaches, if not migraines daily. This does help me sleep. I normally wake up every 2-3 hours. With this med I can sleep 5-6 hours without waking. I only take it before going to bed. The first night I didn't think I was going to make it to the bed! I can't take it during the day because I need to be awake and fully functioning. I have only been taking it 5 days now and only notice a difference in sleep. During reconstruction of my breasts after mastectomy, I developed a very sharp, burning, stabbing pain in the left breast, near the sternum. Hydrocodone helped; however it is not for long term use. My doc felt the pain was due to scar tissue developing around a nerve as as the tissue expanders worked their magic, I experienced pain. This drug works well for me. I take 10mg at night and seem to rest comfortably. I wake clear and refreshed after 8 hours.

I WAS PRESCRIBED CYCLOBENZAPRINE FOR RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME. IT SEEMS TO HELP ME WITHIN 20-30 MIN. IT ALSO HELPS ME SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT WITHOUT WAKING UP WITH PAIN IN MY LEGS. I ONLY TAKE IT AT NIGHT THOUGH. 10MG

I become dizzy, light headed,quizzy stomich

chronic fatigue with the first dose. I would like a smaller dosage from my doctor. However, slept well.

This medication dulls the pain somewhat but does not take it away completely. It gives me gas, makes me feel bloated, makes my mouth very dry and leaves a nasty taste in it. It also makes me very tired and " loopy ".

i used this drug before it was fine but now it seem to give me gas and a nasty taste in by mouth

I was given this medication for lower back pain and it did nothing but make me tired.

I was given this for severe lower back pain. It does very little for the pain, and makes me very sleepy, knot in my abdomen and upset stomach. I care for a 12 yr old handicapped child and am not able to lift or move him while taking this! This medication is horrible!!

I am taking this 3 times daily it reduces the pain to a dull throb but does not get rid of teh pain altogether.
