Asacol has been a godsend for me. This drug has literally turned my life around. When I first got sick 5 1/2 years ago I was a mess. I lost so much weight, my doctor put me in the hospital. Thanks to this medication I have been in remission for 5 years & have thankfully not had any real flare-ups,& my colonoscopies show no evidence of disease, & considering that my entire colon is affected I would ...

I felt almost immediate relief of my symptoms but then my hair started falling out and I developed acne. Need to switch to something that doesn't have these side effects.

I used Asacol for three months, then my body became immune and started passing it through my system without digesting it. I really liked it when it worked. It helped with pain, diarrhea and no flare ups for the months on it. I also didn't have any side effects.

Was diagnosed with UC in 1984. Medication back then was awful. Used Herbal therapy. After many years of remission, was rediagnosed in 2003. Haved used Asacol exclusively and am very satified. No symptoms what so ever. Dr had me put myself on the maintance dose that worked best for me. Only 1 twice daily...convenient. My only complaint is the cost. Insurance is for generic only, must pay upwards of $150 for 30 day supply. Would like to find something comparible, but am afraid of a flare.Read More Read Less

I am the person the this medication did not work for. Sadly it made my condition worse. It caused pain in my colon daily. I got off of it and am trying other things.

Two pills, 3 times a day which can be a nuisance but has been very effective in treating my ulcerative colitis symptoms. I have not relasped in 5 years.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2002 and I take 3 pills, 4x/day. It is a lot to remember but it's very much worth it. I have not had any flare-ups since. On occasion I will eat something that does not agree with me but I have learnt to deal with it. My specialist wanted me to try a new drug which would have meant taking just one pill per day but I refused because of how well Asacol has worked for me.

I have been Asacol for almost 2 months and for me, it is a miracle. Only bad part is taking so many pills a day and they are expensive. It is still costing me $70 with my insurance.

USING ASACOL FOR 15 YEARS. TEND TO FLUCTUATE DAILY DOSAGE WITHOUT DR'S AUTHORITY DUE TO COST. DEFINITELY REDUCES SYMPTOMATIC ISSUES WHEN TAKEN REGULARLY. HAVE SURVIVED 2 RESECTIONS THUS FAR 1993-2003

On a 3 pills, 3x per day regime, and wondering if I could go down to two, as never had severe symptoms. The afternoon dose is a nuisance to remember.

I have had ulcerative colitis for 15 years and this is the only treatment that has worked for me. When i take it regularly I have no symptoms (no bleeding, no bloating, no constipation). for me it works.

I was diagnosed with microscopic colitis and this medication has done very little for me. It is difficult to remember to take 3 times a day. Even when it is taken as directed it has little or no effect. Upsets my stomach when I take it.
