Just started this medication this week for a current sinus/bronchial infection. Used it before with great results! Just a note: eat 2 yogurts a day while on ANY antibiotic!! one in am-one in pm. Antibioics kill ALL bacteria including the 'good' bacteria that lives in the intestines/stomach. This leads to diarrhea, cramping, etc. Choose yogurt with 'live bacteria cultures' and eat 2 x a day until ...

i took this medication before finding out i was pregnant with my son in 1998. he was born with congenital heart disease, has had 3 open heart surgeries, is autistic, has a seizure disorder and many other health issues. DO NOT take this medication if you think you might be pregnant!

I have been taking biaxin for bronchitis for nearly a week now, and i feel absolutely fantastic on it! On day 2 i had mild diarhhea and stomach pain, but that went away by the next day, i also took my dosage right after eating, so after day 2 i have not had any side effects whatsoever and feel back to normal already!

my 3 year old was given biaxin susp. not only is it awful tasting and leaves a terrible taste it is sandy in texture. it gave my son severe abd cramps immediately after taking it. It also gave him mood/behavior changes, nightmares, hallucinations, difficulty sleeping and conjunctivitis. It was a terrible 2 days before we figured out it was the medication and stopped it. It took another day before he was back to himself.

I have gigantic tonsils that the ENT doesn't want to take out because of my age and complications. Well about once a year I still get strep. My tonsils will swell shut. I cannot swallow anything, it is the most excrutiating pain. This last bout, I was given a Z-pak. After 48 hrs, it has seemed to worsen. The Dr. at the Er noticed that the time before I was on this and it seemed to work. So I was given Biaxin for a 10 day course along with predinisone. By the end of the day I was already feeling better, and I can finally swallow! Read More Read Less

While this drug might be effective, the side effects were actually worse than the infection it was meant to treat. Not only did it leave a *horrible* taste in my mouth, it also gave me such bad nausea to the point where I could barely eat. I stopped treatment after having a bout of the "back door trots." This medication litteraly interferred with my life. Being active, I could not allow that. If you must take this drug, suck on fruit flavored candies to deal with the taste. Milk also helps a little.Read More Read Less

While this medication has been extremely effective, I have had an extremely bitter taste in my mouth since I began taking Biaxin.

The medicine made my mouth taste horrible and my stomach cramp. It also came in a big horse pill that, ironically, tasted like vanilla ice cream.

I was treated for a severe bladder infection that i had when i was only 18. I thought i was going to fall over because my pain was so bad, but my Doctor put me on a 3 day (heavy) dose of Biaxin and it cleared my problem up in no time. No side effects, no bad taste. I really had no problem taking this medicine. Easy use and effective!
