VERY DISSATISFIED!My husband went to the doctor on Thursday and started taking Factive. On Saturday, his cough was severly worse.On Sunday,he started with diarrhea. On Monday, he started with fever and aching all over, headaches,flu like symptons. Monday, he stopped taking it. Who in their right mind would put something on the market, that would make people have new like infections when they are already sick? How did this make it on the market? After taking just 1 (one) dose I experienced a severe, sunburn like, rash over my entire body!!! My physician advised to stop taking this medication immediately!

On the 7th day I broke out in what I thought was just a heat rash all over. After taking steriods for 6 days I feel better but still see the rash and itch when I get over heated. This medicine is horrible and I wish I would have read all these comments before hand. Good luck to you all if it's already too late.

after 5 days of taking the drug, i developed severe ,itchy patchy rashes all over my body specially noted on legs,chest and abdomen which lasted for several days..even after taking antihistamine...i thought it will never go away i was frantic and hysterical seeing them and cant stop scratching them...it finally went away after taking hydroxyzine hcl tab..

The Doctor prescribed this medication for me for 10 days, after week of taking it I developed rash all over my body. Unbearable itch and pain at the same time. I looked like patient with chicken pox. I needed Zyrtec for 10 days to clear the rash. Never ever will take this medication again!

My 19 year old daughter's doctor put her on this for whatever reason we still don't know. A week after being prescribed for 4 days of this drug, we ended up in the emergency room with Stephanie on an iv of cortisone, benedryl, and another drug because she was her face and body were so swollen and now, 4 days later the swelling is down but she is still covered with a severe rash/hives all over her body. I took her back to the doctor again yesterday and they gave her the third topical medicine, along with the oral steroid she is on and taking benedryl orally every four hours. Read More Read Less

After taking FACTIVE for 5 days, I developed a SEVERE, ITCHY RASH all over my entire body. It was unbearable for 3 days, I lost time at work and needed to see a doctor for a cortisone shot and prednisone pills. I have been covered in red spots for the last 5 days.

I was prescribed this drug for a upper respiratory infection after surgery. I only took it for 3 days, and started having horrible nightmares that someone was trying to kill me!!! This drug should be taken off the market.

I was on a 7 day treatment with Factive. Two days after I finished the pack, I broke out in a rash from head to toe. When I called the walk in clinic that gave me the treatment, they insisted it was not due to this drug. However, I ended up going to the ER and was told I was having an allergic reaction to Factive. I recommend not taking this drug.

I started a 5 day pack on 2/21/09, prescribed by a walk-in clinic. Day 10 I broke out in rash all over my body and ran to my primary physiscian who said I had to wait it out with Benedryl. I will NEVER take this again. I still have a lingering sinus infection so it didn't even clear that up.

Sinus infection is gone, and NOW I know why my physician prescribed steroids: I followed a five-day regimen, and on day 8 I have gotten an extremely disturbing rash. Now that I have read the kind review the rest of you have posted, I will never again take this medication. I am also looking forward to speaking very curtly with my physician.

I developed a rash on my legs during the 2nd dose of taking Factive 5. After finishing the pack, the rash then spread to my torso, arms, and neck. It got rid of my infection, but left me with this rash that slowly goes away. I WILL NEVER AGAIN TAKE FACTIVE!

i had an acute bronchitis and my dr gave me 5 days theraphy, on the 2nd day i started seeing blood on my stool. should i be concerned? if someone can reply..

I have a 7 day course and after the second day, I have a lot of dizziness. I am also taking a steriod with it. Can't really say if it is effective yet.

The med worked great. However, about a month later, I began having sever diarrhea, cramps, high fever, body aches. I missed 2 wks of work and finally found that this antibiotic caused a bacerial problem called Clostridium difficile colitis. I have never been so sick in all my days. I am taking Flagyl to combat the colitis and hope to be back to work soon. I will forever stay away from Factive knowing what I know now!!

After only one day of taking factive, my face swole horribly and my tongue swole so bad i couldnt talk and could barely breathe. I was nauseated, shaky and in lots of pain. I read where the FDA in 2000 would not approve this drug- I wonder how it got on the market. It is not worth the pain that it causes. I hope my swelling will go down soon- Im on steroids and benadryl now.

This medicine gave me a very rapid heart beat I discontinued use.

Developed skin rash all over body. Very bad, and even with steriod shot and benydrill shot..still itching after taking 6 doses. Not recommended
