i write this immeditely after having to be driven home from work. my boss gave me some of this because of the awful cold i've had. I was fine for an hour and then got severely light headed, dizzy, and felt that if i stood up i'd faint (which is tough for someone who works standing up 12 hours a day). i was less congested, but i will never take this stuff again.

Used only two times. Broke out in itchy rash, heart pounding, nausea, tongue and lips swelled up. Very frightning experience. I don't take a lot of medications. Needed to get help with congestion. Three days later, still have the rash and nausea. Lips are still swelled up. Horrible experience.

Still have a slight, annoying cough, and feeling a little light headed.

Had really bad sore throat, larygitis and cough - this pill really helped with the congestion and cough- but within 3 hours I had 3 bouts of diareah- very sudden with no warning.

Four hours after taking Mucinex DM I had a very bad reaction. My breathing became labored, my heart was pounding and racing and my entire body started to tremor. The tremors continued for over 30 minutes. We called the Pharmacist, and they had not heard of these symptoms, though we read about some else having them on this website. I am 42, 5'8" and 170 lbs. I almost went to the ER, but then the tremors subsided and my breathing normalized. I took my blood pressure and it was high with a heart rate of 98. I will never take this medication again. My doctor recommended Mucinex DM for a viral infection that went to my chest. I have asthma as well. Mucinex DM subdued my coughing for about 10 hours and then it came back. After the second pill, it also made me kind of itch. I haven't decided yet if I am allergic to it or not. I am petite, 5 foot 105lbs. Most medicines are too much for my size.

The first time I took this it helped me stop coughing,however i slept the entire day away! When i did get up and try to function i was loopy and light headed. Needless to say i went straight back to bed. so i didnt take it the normal every 12 hours. It works great on curing the cough, but be prepared to feel drowsy!

I have had flu symtoms for over a week now, coughing, sneezing, achy, feverish. I got worse and became very congested, but I could not cough up the mucus. Hours after I took the recomended dosage, I am noticing my coughs are more productive and the mucus thinning. I have not noticed any bad side effects that others have mentioned. It only makes me a little sleepy. Overall, I am satisfied. I only wish it was less expensive!

Serious medicine. I used extra strength. Reduced my coughing and made the coughs more productive. I was able to get the junk out and breath normally. I'm a fan now.

AH! DONT take this drug. I am a petite woman and have felt like my heart is going to burst out of my chest, nausea, and have been awake the whole night. don't take it...

This definitely clears up the cough and lets me sleep through the night for the most part, but I don't know that the side effects (nausea & dizziness) are worthwhile. I believe the dosage may be too strong for me - I am 5'3" and 110 lbs. I will look to see if there is an equivalent children's formula.

This product works very well to clear up congestion and make coughs more productive. However, with the full dose it makes feel loopy and out of it, making it difficult to work. Going to try and see how well a half dose works during the day.

I took the Mucinex DM and got to feeling dizzy and nauseated. Nothing on the bottle about this. Did a search for info on side effects and found that a lot of people have experienced the same. It did help with the congestion, but the side effects aren't worth it. I will stay with Robbitusin in the future.

thought i would go nuts with this caugh and tickle throat and small food particles catching in mucus in my throat,MucinexDM has worked better than Dr. RXs has cleared up quite a bit.

The only thing I didn't expect was it made me have to get up in the middle of the night and pee about every 2-3 hours, but at least it wasn't my cough waking me up.

I like Mucinex a lot. I only take one pill right before bed to get rid of the congestion in my nose so that I can breath in my sleep. I make sure to take it with a very large glass of water. At least 12 oz. I have never experienced any side effects. It works very well and definitely clears me up.

After using th eproduct I lost my sense of smell. It has been nearly 3 months since I took this product and I still cannot smell or I should say everything smells the same and its a bad smell at that!!!

I was sceptical that this medication would work since, but very happily it provided me with fantastic results. I am so very happy that I found this type of medication to use that was OverTheCounter, instead of the obligatory $120 doctor's visit and 500% premium over prescription drugs. I had a really bad cold that started in my head and then moved to my lungs. I had a pneumonia shot a couple years ago, but I was seriously worried about what could happen if left untreated. So I called up youngest sister, as she is a nurse, and asked for her help. She told me that Mucinex was recently made OTC. She recommended the Mucinex DM Maximum Strength, given my height and weight. Generally not bad. My biggest problem is that I have partial blockage in my left nostil. The med does not seem to get up in that area and relieve my problem. Does relieve my chest congestion. Has finally stopped my wheezing sounds. Has effect on heart rate. Tends to speed up. The Guaifenesen in this medicine affects the amount of Coumadin you take. Since I have been taking Mucinex DM. my INR(IRN?) reading has jumped up to 4.0. causing concern to my practitioner, and of course also to me. Read More Read Less
