I was getting over a bad cold but the chest congestion and cough wouldn't go away. This made me a little bit spacey but no moreso than does Sudafed, or most other cold meds (and I was sleep-deprived, anyway, because I'd been awake, coughing, for two nights). It made my mouth and throat a bit dry, and taking 2/day made my urine smell like the pills, which freaked me out! That stopped once I started taking only 1/day. My congestion was so bad I couldn't cough anything up and chest was tight. Took 1 dose of Mucinex DM and it started clearing up the congestion within 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Could breathe again. Was drowzy but welcomed this as I know rest is the best thing when sick with the flu. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for congestion relief.

This medicine loosened up the mucus that was inside my throat/chest. I thought it worked better than the medicine that the doctor prescribed for me to take. I usually experience drowsiness with other medicines but not with Mucinex. The only con is I experienced dry mouth a little. Just drink lots of fluids because it is worth it!

Seemed to work fine in clearing out the unwanted mucus when I'm sick. I've never experienced any side effects.

Effective but : DIZZINESSS, GROGGY, VERY SLEEPY SIDE EFFECTS -- AND LOTS OF DIARRHEA Not mentioned on the box!

My cough was extremely disturbing and even painful, I couldn't sleep or even carry out a conversation. I took Mucinex, and the relief came within an hour or so, but the dizziness and weakness... oh, wow! I care for a 2-year-old child, and I was completely unable to continue with my day, all I could do was to lay in bed. BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT THE SIDE EFFECTS! The bottle and the box don't list any of them! It's very expensive, too

Took for mucus in throat. Immediately experienced VERY loose bowels, almost full blown diarrhea! This persisted until I stopped taking the MucinexDM!

After taking the recommended dose, 2 tablets it loosed the mucus, BUT within 1 hour I had REALLY loose, watery, yellow, uncontrolable bowls!!! Would NEVER take it again.

It gave me a severe rash over my entire body. Very itchy and uncomfortable.

This stuff cleared me up and I did't have any side effects other than a dry mouth. It helped me get the sleep I badly needed. I wasn't coughing in the middle of night or choking on my phlegm like I was before I took it.

I had bronchitis and a productive cough for over a week. I took one mucinex dm and the results were almost immediate. Much better brearheing and easier to get the mucous out. I have no side effects except a bit of diarrhea and a kind of bad taste in my mouth. I would use this product again.

I took the Mucinex DM on the advice of my Dr. for flu symtoms. The first dose made the cough so loose that I was waking up gasping for breath and gagging. The second dose gave me diarhea for two hours, a racing heart, dry mouth so bad I could not talk, a swollen tongue, and a severe panic attack from the "high" feeling. I was not expecting this and I had to leave work as a result. The reaction subsided after a few hours and i was able to calm down. The product worked great on my chest congestion - but the adverse reactions would prevent me from ever being able to use this again. The first time i took teh Mucinex DM I didn't have any side effects but it made the cough "Too" loose- I was gagging in my sleep. The next time I took it - I went to work and after 3 hours I felt so high and has such a dry mouth and sticky tongue that I could not talk. I got diahrea for two hours, racing heart and extreme nervousness. I had to leave work becuse I could not sit still to concentrate. I just took this about 3 hours ago. It has DEFINITELY helped quell the coughing, but I am feeling VERY spacey and dizzy. Only time will tell if it works on my congestion.

I just took one before work in the morning. It seems to be breaking up the congestion and loosening the cough, but the drowsiness and general "out of it" feeling is affecting my ability to work. I usually don't suffer side effects from other medications, so this is a little disconcerting.

I took Mucinex due to having a lot of congestion and i believed the ad's on TV. I have taken it twice and both times it had no effect on me-unless you consider dizziness, nasuea and feeling like i am having a heart attack an effect! No musas was thinned and only effects I had were bad! I could not eat or sleep!!!

After I began taking my first pill, I began to feel better. I was a little jumpy afterwards. On the second day of taking the pills, I began to break out over my entire body. My body was covered in a rash. The itching was unbearable. I a severe reaction to a drug in Mucinex. I would not suggest that anyone take this medicine.

The aftermath of a bad flu bug left me with bad chest congestion - frighteningly difficult to breathe and had to cough violently for minimal results. After taking my first Mucinex DM, there was noticeable relief within hours. Now, 24 hours later, coughs are painless & productive, breathing is almost back to normal. No "trip" side effects whatsoever.

I had a bad cold that seemed to have settled in my chest. There was a lot of coughing causing my ribs & head to hurt. My doctor had me on an antibiotic & Mucinex DM. The Mucinex DM worked to thin the mucus. It lessened the night time coughing (intensity & frequency) but not completely. I was still up quite a bit. The side effects of dizziness, 'loopiness' & nausea are pretty annoying. I have a very active toddler & the side effects make it somewhat challenging to keep up w/ him.
