Does reduce some inflammation and pain, It does give you gas and some bloating, the worst thing its man made. I prefer to use medical marijuana as its organic and without chemicals. I do not trust the FDA or AMA they are connected to the government and illuminate.

It has helped me extremely with anxiety knee pain and focus on my studies.I think it is a life saver in my case ,I have tried all anti depressants for fifteen years and the side effects are greater than the benefits.I thank the fda for not being narrow minded megolomaniacs when it comes to this medication/life saver for ptss.

I actually feel high from this medicine. I tried marijuana as a teenager and hated the feeling. Unfortunately, I feel anxious and "out of control" when I take this med. Hopefully those feelings will subside as it works for the nausea. (I have chronic pancreatitis)

My son took Marinol for 4 years. His brain did not give off hunger signals. It prolonged his life for many years just by getting back his appetite, He didn't feel high, unsteady or any crazy feelings although it did help his back pain, I am very grateful the Doctor prescribed it. Make sure to take it no more than 30 minutes before you eat. I think he may have gained a few pounds too. As a nurse, I was happy with the results; and it's a natural herb, not another drug to be processed by the liver.Read More Read Less

For some reason I can't ever be sure if it will ever "kick in". It usually does, and I'm so grateful, but other times it never does and I'm left waiting for my next dose. Smoking always works and I don't have to wait 30 minutes to 2 hours hoping for relief. I can't wait to get medical marijuana!

I began taking Marinol for chronic pain. Fibromyalgia, Sleep Apnea fused lower back, herniated discs in neck, left foot drop, migraine headaches. etc I also have had loss of appetite due to pain, Marinol has been a Miracle Drug for me! for the first time I was able to sleep and manage my pain and have a life! but since I don't have HIV or the big C it is illegal for me to take in illinois. I will be moving back to California so I can have a better quality of life and take Marinol

Parkinson's patient living with the horrible pain that comes with muscle spasms, coordination freezes, rigidity, extremely painful tremor "attacks", etc. Marinol did absolutely nothing for my pain, akasthesia, or appetite. As a big fan of it's botanical source( I know Marinol is synthetic), I was very dissapointed. Nothing at all like ganja. Cannabis is an extremely effective pain releiver, mood lifter, appetite stimulant, and anti-spasmolytic. Marinol is none of these. I could see it being an effective sleep medication.Read More Read Less

I have very bad migraines and although it doesn't get rid of the headache in terms of throbbing it takes away the pain. And best of all it the high you get from the meds is feels close to pot which is key to dealing with these headaches. I live in CA and I am getting my medicinal pot card. but I'm using Marinol for now. the only gripe is that depending on the dosage, it takes at least 2.5 hours to kick in it gets absorbed through the liver so that is why it takes so long. It works great but it nothing compared to the real thing.Read More Read Less

I'm taking this for metastatic colon cancer (metastasized to my abdomen) pain and to increase my appetite. Be careful with the dosage, unless you have a history of serious pot smoking. I was the latter in college but at 54, not so much. The 5 mg caps make me completely useless -- super-tired and unfocused to the point of being zombie-like. The 2.5 mg dose works well.
