Does reduce some inflammation and pain, It does give you gas and some bloating, the worst thing its man made. I prefer to use medical marijuana as its organic and without chemicals. I do not trust the FDA or AMA they are connected to the government and illuminate.

i am currently using this for the nausea caused by H I V drugs, this is far better than smoking pot, and beats phenergan hands down, it it wasn't for marinol, i would have been in the bathroom all day some days. If anyone is going through the nausea and loss of extreme weight loss of H I V meds, ask you doctor about marinol, dronabinol, its a godsend, and better for your lungs than smoking pot

My 19-year-old daughter was prescribed Marinol as an appetite stimulant. She has stage 4 lymphoma and got to the point where she was eating very little. She has lost more than 50 pounds over the past 6 months but since starting the Marinol has started eating again. It works wonders for her; I only wish they'd started giving her this med sooner. She used to smoke pot at home and that encouraged her to eat, but Marinol is legal and can be used here in the hospital, where she spends a lot of time.

This was used for a dialysis patient that was malnurished d/t loss of appetite. It was prescribed only after the usual appetite meds were exhausted. This drug literally gave the patient the "munchies" much like that described with marijuana. There were no side effects and was tolorated well. Pt had not problems discontinuing the drug after therapy completed.

I began taking this drug for chronic pain, but discovered that it works WONDERS for hot flashes as well! It has helped with the depression that goes along with chronic pain! I have only been on it for a month, but the difference is already amazing!

I am taking this for anorexia related to leukemia. It really works. It also helps my arthritis and depression. People often express disappointment because they expect it to be marijuana, it isn't, but it does make me want to play my guitar for hours. I get medi-cal to pay for it, but then I've got the big C and most cancer drugs are expensive. This is wonderful stuff.

i had severe chronic back pain that vicodin couldn't help.the pain was so severe it caused nausea that ,again, nothing helped.after pleading with my dr, he finally wrote a rx for me. it was the first time i had any relief in five + years.unfortunately, my insurance didn't cover it so the pain has returned. i think marinol should be easier to get through insurance.

I have multiple sclerosis and I take this medication for muscle spasms, proplems sleeping and nausea. I also take it for anxiety. My experience with the treatment so far has been a good one. I sleep longer wihtout waking up and I don't have as much trouble going to sleep. I don't have nausea like before and the muscle spasms have gotten better. Most of all the anxiety is no where near as bad as before.

I have had chronic pain due to osteoartiritis in my left shoulder, hip and ankle. Also, painful neuropathy in my left leg from the knee down. The pain meds work, however the side effects make it very difficult to concentrate or focus...a 'scattered-buzzed' feeling. I had to use marijuana to eliminate those side effects...and it also helped with pain management. Although I didnt like having to 'smoke' it. When I was prescribed Marinol, it worked exactly like marijuana. The Marinol does produce a slight 'high' but this is much more manageable and acceptable than just the pain meds alone. The Marinol actually eliminates the 'scattered' feeling and I can think clearly and focus easily now.Read More Read Less

It worked very well and fast for weight loss due to loss of appetite and extremely bad nausea and vomiting from idiopathic chronic pancreatitis where all other meds had failed. I didn't like the side-effects of short-term memory issues and feeling 'altered.' It was worth it when it got bad enough and worked very well and fast when used, despite the disliked side effect of using it. I had no trouble stopping but only used it occasionally. I was told to keep it in the fridge and that makes it harder if needed when I'm out of the house-- usually at medical appts.Read More Read Less

I ws prescribed marinol after using compazine & meclizine for chronic vertigo. It helped control the nausea & dizziness along with learning not 2 rise 2 quickly from a sitting or lying down position, not turning my head from side 2 side, and afer a long period of not being able 2 drive, learning 2 just use the mirrors. Still not able 2 drive if it is raining, or riding for long periods of time, or riding in the back seat of a vehicle.

I have MS and the treatment that I get for it makes me nausiated all month long.they give me zofran and reglan but I have found these drugs to be non efective in treating my nausia and loss of apitite,so I think that marinol would also be a maricle drug for people with MS who are getting the same sort of treatment that I get the med is called tysabri and it is very new in treating MS however it is also used for treating RA and CD and I think that marinol would Help those people in dealing with their treatmen sideffects and be benaficial in helping promote a better and healthier physical and mental Health.SO I am going to runn this information by my neurologist and see what he thinks.Read More Read Less
