I had very low hemoglobin 9.4. I went through a battery of tests and it was determined that the cause was heavy periods. I started taking Repliva and my hemoglobin has come up to 14.6. It does cause me some stomach issues, so I take it at night and I don't have a problem that way.

I didn't think I was going to have side effects from an iron supplement and it could be that I'm still not experiencing side effects. I decided to look it up because it's my second day on the med. and I woke up with the worse vertigo (dizzy), the entire room was spinning. Maybe it causes indigestion because sometimes indigestion gives me vertigo. I'll keep taking it. I'll keep you posted.

I have been off and on this drug for the past year and a half. I have never had a problem with any side effects. My doctor prefers me to be on for 3 months then off. I can tell when my hemoglobin levels drop. I usually feel better again within 7-10 days after starting this again. I have been anemic since I was 16 and nothing else has ever worked this well. My levels were below 8 before I started and now they are back up to 12. Aside from the expense, I think it is great!

I have had no ill effects- in fact no effects at all! I am in my fourth month of Repliva therapy and can assertain no appreciable benefit. I had gastric bypas (Roux-en-Y) 08/2006 and have a slight anemia since. My biggest complaint is the ridiculous packaging! I'm an adult and can take a pill out of a bottle when I'm suppose too. I'll give it a longer chance but I am sceptical...

Out of all the Iron Therapy Medications I have used, Repliva is the best one for me. I have a lot of energy and feel great. one thing I do not like about this medication is that, it increases your appetite. Unfortunately, I have gained 23 pounds since stating the medication 8 months ago.

This is the second week that I've been taking this medication and I have had dark tarry stools and lots of nausea and stomach pain. The pain usually hits me a few minutes after taking it in the morning. It's unbearable and leaves me feeling like Im about to pass out. Im going to contact my dr in the morning about it. I see other comments that others started taking it at bedtime, so Im going to do the same and see if it will help.

I have been on Repliva a week now. Ever increasing gas, and abdominal pain. Loose tarry stools, very uncomfortable. I don't know how much longer I can stay with it as I spent much of the morning in the bathroom.

Black stools, nausea, no real change in hemoglobin. Not sure when to take it because iron and caffeine don't work. Supposed to take on an empty stomach? Not real directions on the package to address these issues.I'll take it at night as some suggested. It's not a pleasant medication.

I am in week 4. Started by taking at bedtime and was ok for 1 week. I thought I'd sleep thru any side effects and get the best results because it would have 8 hours without food in the stomach to work. Then I woke up 2 times with pain and feeling like there was a ball of fire in my stomach. I now take it in the morning with food and have not had that problem again. I feel much better. Blood work next week will tell the real story.

It seems to be improving my iron levels, but side effects include black feces, constant nausea, and (possibly) a lack of appetite.

My doctor prescribed Repliva to control my anemia due to heavy menstral flow. I have been taking it for 2 months now. I do feel better before taking it I could not walk far without getting tired. My skin was pale. I have improved but do not wish to stay on it too long. I have started experiencing a rash on my legs and I do have stomach aches.

I was diagnosed with anemia after becoming pregnant and overall this medicine has worked for me. Other than your stool being black, and it being costly, I wold like to continue but I need to find a generic brand because of the cost.

I used this drug for anemia caused by ulcerative colitis for about 6 months. It worked well and I had no problems except for the cost as our insurance would not pay for it. I would continue taking it if not for this reason.

I see alot of comments about stomach issues. My only problem was the jet-black stool. Unfortunately after one week, I began developing blisters on my hands. They would not go away. I called the doctor, stopped taking the pills ... within one week the blisters were gone. I wish it had worked for me.

Loved this medication. The first week I experienced some constipation, but the following weeks I felt great. I have way more energy and my lab results look terrific! Very happy!

Taking medication has improved my skin color and overall health. I was diagnosed as being anemic after surgery. I feel much better and on day 26 of the pack. I experienced a bit of constipation and slight stomach upset, but the key for me was to drink plenty of water during the day. I take the pill after breakfast and it works for me.
