    Was treated for unknown infection in knee joint replacement. The replacement knee was removed, and was in nursing home for 3 months trying to get rid of infection with Vanco injected into port twice a day. I had immediate severe itching of head/burning of eyes.throat/swollen tongue/ringing in ears.itching burning rash over entire body/loss of bladder control and diarrhea. Benedryl did not help.Ac ...     Comment:
    I was given this drug in doctors office through IV for presumed infection of unknown origin. It almost killed me. I have no other known allergies. Started with extreme itching of scalp, then I got dizzy and violently Ill. Lost all control over bodily function and blood pressure down to 55/35. Spent 5 days in hospital after this episode. Horrible drug and deadly.

    was given this medicine for my kidneys well lets just say i looked swollen head to toe i ripped my scalp open scratching so much and i had bulging welps up and down my body it took me over a day to get it to go away and it caused me more trouble than good never again will i take this stuff

    ROCEPHIN USED PRIOR TO VANCOMYCIN. SUPPOSED EYE INFECTION, NOT CONFIRMED. ALLERGIC REACTION AT END OF VANCOMYCIN IV.....GIVEN STEROIDS. DIAGNOSIS FOR USE OF IV VANCOMYCIN NOT CONFIRMED. FULL BODY ITCHING, RED, FLAKY RASH FOLLOWING USE AS YET NOT DIAGNOSED AND INCREASING IN SEVERITY. NO RELIEF IN SITE. POSSIBLE YEAST INFECTION??

    I went to the ER with a bad skin infection and they gave me this. After 3 minutes, I started having an allergic recation. Including red, hot,and swollen upper body and arm where iv was at, breathing troubles, vision problems, heart rate went thru the roof, and the shaking all over.
