I had taken four rounds of flagyl and two rounds of a virusudical over a 3 year span, i've been taking a probiotoc for vaginal health ($70./ 30 day supply,) eating activia probiotic yogurt and drinking kombucha, but nothing was fixing the problem, this aweful and very strong odor. Finally, i was perscribed solosec. My unsurance doesnt cover this drug, and the price was over $300. I got a coupon ...

I tried this medication in hopes of finally having my sex life back to normal after 10 years of dealing with this bullsh!t. I also tried flagy, metrogel, fem ph, yogurt, vinegar douches... you name it. Nothing works!! It always comes back after a month. I thought this would be my answer to getting rid of this, but I was wrong. After a month, it's back. Once you start having that smell through you...

I was prescribed Solosec by my gynecologist. I had never been diagnosed with BV before. I got Solosec, took it as directed, and then read the reviews after feeling kinda funny immediately after taking it. I wish I had read the reviews sooner. I did not drink alcohol with this medication. It immediately made me dizzy and 12 hours later, Iâ??m throwing up. I wasnâ??t warned of these side effects at all. I donâ??t know if it is working yet because it has only been 12 hours. I do know that I would rather take normal antibiotics though. I am miserable.Read More Read Less

I have had bv for quite sometime now and am desperate but not that desperate to make myself sick. I mean there just has to be something else that can go with this disgusting stuff. I tried it in some greek yogurt and it made the texture absolutely AWFUL! Every time I tried to even swallow some it made me almost gag my insides out. Maybe the best way to take this is one scoop every 5mins till you get it all down or just sprinkle some eat it sprinkle eat or maybe just wolf down the packet with a follow up of water or juice. i think juice hightens it. There is no way I will try this with greek yogurt again. I could not finish I only got about half down. There is an awful after taste. Eat candy afterward like a werther's caramel filled candy. It will kill the taste. I will try it again though just had I wasted $25 not to get to eat it all. I'm going to try swallowing small portions of the granules next time alone. Followed by milk.Read More Read Less

I put it into berry yogurt & besides from the weird texture of it, I had no clue it was there. It had little to no taste as long as you don’t chew the granules. My symptoms got better by the next day, and 2 days later they are gone completely.

Most importantly, it WORKED. Odor was gone in 24 hours. Paid $25 with a coupon from my gyne. Tastes bitter, but doable. Don't move it around your mouth, just try to swallow it with yogurt or pudding. Most people here are being way too dramatic LOL It's been 2 days - stayed away from alcohol per the reviews and I had zero side affects.

Tastes bad, but worked great for me. I put it in a small small bowl of yogurt and just sucked it down. I took it at night after teaching a fitness class. I also felt so crappy before the Solosec that I took some Advil PM and called it a night around 9PM. I woke up at 5:30AM and went to a 6AM yoga class, felt fine, smell was gone and I believe the discharge is gone as well. I have had VB for so many years off and on and have taken the other drugs that do not seem to work very well and I have to take them for a week and refrain from drinking. I have not attempted to drink yet since I took the Solosec last night, but I will socially drink this weekend. Since I do not feel completely crappy or have the bad after taste as some have complained about, I am hoping I have no issue with alcohol. YES - it tastes bad, but having a bacterial infection is no walk in the park. I will take the bad taste over a infection every time!! Bad reviews for the bad taste is just ignorant. You are warned about the taste and maybe you really haven't suffered much from your infections like some others have. Read More Read Less

I SUFFERED FROM BV MY WHOLE LIFE EVEN WHEN I WAS A VIRGIN I AM TOLD BY EVERYONE I AM BEAUTIFUL, AND YES I KNOW IT NOW BUT THIS BV HAD LOWERED MY SELF ESTEEM MADE ME ANGRY ALL THE TIME, AND READY TO GIVE UP ON LIFE, IT EVEN AFFECTED HOW I REACT WITH GUYS AND SOCIAL SITUATIONS. I USED FLAGYL TO MANY TIMES TO COUNT. I ALWAYS RESEARCH ANY AND EVERYTHING. I FOUND SOLOSEC AND ASKED MY DOCTOR WHY WE NEVER TRIED THIS SHE SAID SHE HAD JUST REC'VD VOUCHERS IN THE OFFICE THAT MAKE THE PRODUCT FREE. I WAS SO EXCITED!! I READ THE REVIEWS ALMOST FREAKED MYSELF OUT WORRYING BUT I WAS GOING TO SEE FOR MYSELF REGARDLESS. ITS ONLY ONE KIND OF YOUGURT I EAT AND THATS THE PEACH YOPLAIT, FOR SOME REASON ON THIS DAY I CHOSE GREEK YOUGURT THE TEXTURE IS DISGUSTING AND NO TASTE SO I COULD TASTE THE GRANUALS BUT IT WAS NOTHING COMPARE TO FLAGYL, IT TOOK ME ALMOST THE ENTIRE 30 MINUTES TO GET IT DOWN AND I FELT GREAT I GAGGED A FEW TIMES BUT NOT BECAUSE THE GRANUALS BUT BECAUSE THE YOGURT. THE DISCHARGE AND SMELL WENT AWAY BY THE NEXXT DAY I DIDNT WANT A DRINK OR SMOKE THE FIRST TWO DAYS I DIDNT CRAVE IT. THE LAST TWO DAYS I SIPPED LIGHTLY BECAUSE I SAW ALL THE REVIEWERS WHO HAD DRANK HAD BAD BOUTS WITH VOMITING BUT THE LAST TWO DAYS OF THE FOUR I DRANK NO NAUSEA NO VOMITTING NO METALLIC TASTE, I DID EXPERIENCE A BIT OF MOODYNESS ON THE SECOND DAY BUT IM USUALLY PRETTY MOODY LOL. I RECOMMEND 1000% RESTORED MY CONFIDENCE AND NOW ME AND MY MAN CAN GET FREAKY AGAIN LOL. GOOD LUCK LADIES YOU CAN DO IT!!Read More Read Less

The granules taste like a crushed up aspirin. Not too bad, it’s worth it! It’s is very effective! Within 4-6 hours I noticed improvements in all symptoms including smell! I did experience some unpleasant side effects. I had a gross metallic taste in my mouth for about 24 hours and my stomach feels uneasy and bloated. Knowing that it worked so fast, the side effects were worth it and I would take it again.

I just took this and after reading these reviews I was terrified to eat it. But I used chocolate pudding it masked the taste pretty well. I did what other lady did. A Layer of Pudding then layer of granules then layer of pudding.put to back of throat and Swallow whole spoon the best you can. I felt bleh after because of “chugging” pudding. I finished most of it. Took almost one and half cups. Taste was masked pretty well and I hate medicine. It was a mind game. I can only say three stars because I just took the medicine I don’t know how well it’s going to work yet. I will come back and update my review once it works . I wanted to write a review for others who might be needing to take this medicine that are now freaked out because of all of the other horrible reviews. Read More Read Less

Constant BV sufferer. Have tried flagyl, gels, creams, probiotics, you name it. Was really excited to hear about this new one time option (can’t stand taking 2 pills for 7 days) I will be honest, the taste is unpleasant, but it’s medicine...not pop rocks. Advice to all my ladies out there- mix with pudding, the sugar helps mask the bitterness and have a glass of water to chase it down. I took mine in the morning before work and by noon my BV symptoms were already going away. Single dose, effective, and I can drink? Honey, I will choose this every time. Read More Read Less

I was introduced to this product by my doctor. The appeal being a one time use and that having some drinks while using the drug would be safe. I took the medication as prescribed in the early afternoon, and a little later on enjoyed some beers by the pool. By 6PM I was throwing up in the restaurant bathroom. I went home to nap, and when I woke up, I proceeded to vomit the remainder of the night. I couldnâ??t even keep down water. The following day the nausea persisted, but I was able to keep down a little food. The third day I began vomiting again. The medicine has left an awful lingering taste in my mouth. I had sever abdominal pain the entire first day. Iâ??ve been lethargic for the last two days. This experience has not been enjoyable. I would not recommend the product to anyone.Read More Read Less

I read the reviews before taking it and was terrified of even opening the packet. Everyone saying the taste was disgusting was absolutely freaking right, the worst actually. I had mine with pudding and it was hard to not chew the granules, they would get stuck on my teeth. As soon as I was done I ate a pudding to see if the taste would fade ... no ... no it didnâ??t. But ... my niece handed me a piece of gum and that was it, no more disgusting taste in my mouth. Have gum at hand! Itâ??s the next day and I feel like my BV is gone, no discharge or weird smell. The only thing is I have a metallic taste in my mouth, worse when I drink water. This worked for me ... hopefully it will do the same for you guys!Read More Read Less

If you are a person who is sensitive to side effects, be extremely cautious with this medication. My doctor told me to try this to try and finally put a stop to my never ending BV, and I thought sure, what the heck. I took it yesterday afternoon, mixed it in my apple sauce and just tried not to chew any of the granules. For people saying this was â??absolutely disgusting and inedibleâ? are probably the people who chewed it, which you are not supposed to do. It wasnâ??t impossible to get down, just tasted a little bit like aspirin. I read about the side effects a little while after taking it and was a little nervous but didnâ??t really think anything of it. Almost exactly 6 hours later it felt like I was hit with the flu and a bad migraine. I laid in bed for about an hour until I finally just had to throw up. I had diarrhea later in the night as well. As far as today goes I still feel pretty crappy, just like Iâ??m recovering from having the flu. I also have sort of a weird taste in my mouth, it seems like the aspirin-y taste has lingered. This medicine has made me feel the crappiest I have in a while. Itâ??s only been a day so Iâ??m not sure if this is going to give me a yeast infection or not. As far as the BV goes I would say thereâ??s been about an 80% reduction in smell, so Iâ??m hoping within the next few days it will completely disappear and not come back. Nothing else has worked for me, so I guess if this medicine gets rid of it the side effects will be somewhat worth it, only because Iâ??ve been desperate. But please be aware that this medicine will most likely make you ill for a day or two. Read More Read Less

I’ve had recurrent BV for over 17 years. This worked within days of taking it. I’ve been BV free for over a year. Never been so happy! I am glad I stumbled upon this drug in my online research and asked my doctor to write me the RX.

I had been battling BV for almost a year. As soon as my Mens Tura cycle was over I would have BV again. After numerous antibiotics my Ob/Gyn prescribed me Solosec. Itâ??s been 3 months no sign of BV. It actually seem to work within a couple of hours. I didnâ??t mix it. I was feed up and frustrated so I opened the package and swallowed the grains drunk a bottle of water. It was gross but my frustration had me desperate. No side effects. So yea it worked for me. My life feels normal again especially my sex life. Read More Read Less

Yes, it's one dose but I got extremely ill. Within 8 hours of taking the drug, I had dizziness, nausea and vomiting. Stomach was upset for another 4-5 days, Metallic taste and loss of taste continued for about 7 days. I would've preferred using the creams for the 5-7 days instead. I've never experienced side effects like this with ANY drug I've taken. I will not take it again

UPDATED COMMENT from 12/13/18. Last post from Dec. I still don't have odor through my clothes, irritation or gritty discharge. Since then, I've had no issues and finally for these last few months I been able to have a normal sex life. Very happy, but in a few months i'll be due for my annual and will need to take a culture test to see if this BV is still present or not. I know some women have BV but had no symptoms, so in a way this bacteria is a bit confusing. If i get tested and BV shows up, then its stemming from something else...if it doesn't show up then I know this medication worked for me. I also find that drinking a lot of water until your urine is clear really helps as well. I'll keep ya'll posted on the situation. If anyone wants to recap back on my reviews, it's under Sept and Dec. Peace!Read More Read Less

I’ve had bv literally 4 times in the pass few months and nothing seemed to totally help it. Other meds worked but then it came back. I just took this a few hours ago with applesauce and it does taste awful! I had to hold my nose and try not to gag. But I am hopeful that it will work really well according to my doctor. I feel like this stuff will actually work!

I got a coupon from the doctor for the script at $25. and did a cash pay. After having read all the reviews i could find on solosec, i was not looking forward to taking this med, but i was desperate. Every review talks about the horrible taste, so, instead of mixing the granules into a yogurt, i layed a thin layer of yogurt on a spoon, i sprinkled as much of the granules as i could, atop of the yogurt, and then i put a layer of yogurt on top of the granules. I made sure to leave no granule exposed. I put it to the back of my throat and swallowed it in a gulp, without the solosec ever touching my tongue. I never tasted it. It went down fine. It took two activia's to complete this process. Two grams is a lot of product. I think it is the taste that causes the vomiting and upset stomach. I never got sick, didnt feel nauseous, never had the metal taste in my mouth. I took it on monday morning. Its now wed. evening. No sign of yeast infection, and so far, that undeniable fishy odor appears to be gone. If you dont hear from me again, it means it worked! Read More Read Less

I just took this treatment right at 24hours ago and I already feel better. If you do not chew it then it doesn't have a taste. I took it with pudding and water. I would give this 5 stars but want to wait to see if this cures it completely after a few more days.
