I've been very lucky using this drug for my severe back spasms. My back spasms are due to an injury sustained when my bicycle collided with a Tundra pickup that turned in front of me. Humans don't make good hood ornaments. Before taking metaxalone, I was going 2 and 3 days without sleep because I couldn't lay down. This had been going on for about 3 months. I was at wit's end, what little was left...
I was afar to use this meds because I have seizures which I have not had in over 40 yrs and donot plan to have one because this med.I have sleeping now without add to it.than I have headach when I wake in the morning so why add to it.my stomach get upset more time than I can count so why make it worsen.

This med is extremely expensive, even in generic form, comes in very large tablets, and at least for me, is not very effective. Just the cost alone, $5/800mg tab, would makes it unaffordable and thus ineffective to many potential users.

Doctors unable to determine cause of muscle spasam in my back. I have taken every kind of shot keyoplasty, which did nothing. I have gone to two chiropractors and no luck. Pain starts anytime I am moving the top part of my body. Movement at my desk, doing dishes or cooking just the top movement starts the pain. Only way it stops is to use Tens unit, take pill or lay flat on my back and it stops.

Have trouble swallowing tablet. Sticks to my mouth. Plus during sleeping at night, I have spasms and I jerk, and move my legs all night long. They keep me up most of the night.

I was prescribed this medication several years ago for tension headaches. It was helpful, but not dramatic. Recently I became a sufferer of back pain. What an absolute drag that is! I had some metaxalone 800mg and I'm using it routinely. I just put it in with my regular 7a/2p/10p medications and it's very effective. Using it "as needed" wasn't so successful as I would let my back begin to seriously spasm before taking the medication and with a half hour or so before it became effective, I didn't feel it was much help.
