I've been very lucky using this drug for my severe back spasms. My back spasms are due to an injury sustained when my bicycle collided with a Tundra pickup that turned in front of me. Humans don't make good hood ornaments. Before taking metaxalone, I was going 2 and 3 days without sleep because I couldn't lay down. This had been going on for about 3 months. I was at wit's end, what little was left. I can take metaxalone on an empty stomach or with food, and I haven't really noticed that it makes me feel drowsy either. So far, taking between 2 pills to 4 pills a day, depending on the duration of the spasms, I've not noticed any side-effects...so far. And I'm hoping it stays that way.Read More Read Less

I have had promblems with my lower back for over twenty years, I am very active and my lower back muscles will spasm,and I will be out for 5-10 days recovering. This will happen 2-3 times a year every year. I have been on metaxal for the last two years on a as need basis, Example when I feel my back getting tight just before I pull it out I will Take a metaxal and a celebrex and my back will feel fine one hour later. No back spasm for two years now.

I have 4 compression fractures and this med works wel to lower my pain

I only took 2 pills before I discontinued it because my skin felt miserable. I felt like I was high on something. I couldn't sit, lay, or stand for over 1 minute. I definitely would not take it again or recommend it. Flexeril works for me.

I get muscle twitches around my eyes and muscles cramps in my torso. Feels like some one is sticking a sharp object in me. The cramps are no where near where the pain is. Does not work at all.

Noticable relief taking 800mg. daily for 15 years. I can tell when the dosage is due as my muscles start tightening back up. Take on full stomach or with Pepcid.

I injured my lower back. The medication helped relieve some pain but not what would be ieal. Still have random BURST of pain when I move a certain way.

Degenerative disk disease with lateral nerve compression. Sometimes it seems to help but other times not.

It is very expensive and still I have back spasms and ancyness all over my body.

Have used this for three weeks so far with no side effects. Empty stomach or after a light meal have both worked well. Muscle pain/spasms have noticeably been relieved.

I went to the ER because everything i was taking for my muscle spasms never worked and then i was prescribed this and i dont feel the pain anymore. At first you tend to get an upset stomach but you have to eat a well balanced meal before you take the medication for that not to happen. it was wonderful. I perfer this to flexoral

It helped the first day, then it irrated my stomach so I had to discontinue before the spasms stopped. It's very expensive and I wouldn't get it again, other drugs have worked faster and without such discomfort

i have a fever and have broken out in a rash

I am having very bad reaction to this drug. I now blister on my upper and lower arms and also on my back.Which has become infected fast.

I have muscle spasms due to mulyiple sclerosis and this seems to help where others didnt
