Elizabeth Sutherland, ND, received her doctorate degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine and her undergraduate degree in biopsychology from Tufts University. She is currently involved in clinical research studies on natural medicine and maintains a private practice in Portland, Ore.
Sutherland is a technical trainer/lecturer for Transitions for Health, lecturing nationally on the topic of women's health. Prior to becoming a naturopathic physician, she worked for more than 10 years as a technical writer and editor within the computer software business and educational industries.
Sutherland places paramount importance on understanding the physical, mental, emotional, and environmental processes that influence a person's health. She sees herself as a provider of information, because it is through education that we become empowered, and through empowerment that we can heal.
