Janet Whalley, BSN, RN, is executive director of the Childbirth Education Association of Seattle. She has taught baby care and breastfeeding classes since 1972 and has taught childbirth preparation classes since 1975. Co-author of Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Newborn: The Complete Guide, Whalley earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Seattle's University of Washington.
The Childbirth Education Association of Seattle is an independent, nonprofit agency that offers classes to new and expectant parents, trains childbirth educators, and provides breastfeeding help for nursing mothers.
